🙂INSTANT PEACE IN OUR TIME - Senior Israeli official: At Trump's request, Israel is stopping the attacks on Iran.

What just happened?

Iran fired around 30 ballistic missiles at Israel and no drones, a relatively small number. This would seem to hint Iran has limited launch capacity.

Israel heavily attacked Iran in response, using long range air launched ballistic missiles [ALBMs], meaning attack missiles launched from jets that can fly up to 300 km, carry a 570 kg warhead, and are highly accurate in targeting.

This means Israel can and did attack sites in Iran, via jet, without ever entering Iran’s airspace or putting pilots at risk of Iranian air defenses.

Israel targeted Iranian factories that are part of the military supply chain, drones, rocket fuel, and weapons warehouses.

And most importantly, key equipment in a petrochemical plant.

At which point Iran immediately stopped firing missiles at Israel. And fired off threats about how they would attack such sites throughout the Middle East, destroying the world energy economy. ( But practically Israel doesn’t get energy from those sources, nor does the United States. )

Apparently Trump thinks this back down by Iran is an opening to force an agreement, because he forced Israel to stop their effective attacks.

Instant peace in our time! Until the Iranians feel it is either to their advantage, or a need to recover their honor, and start again.

And Iran continues to threaten: "The Strait of Hormuz will be opened but under new conditions determined by Iran and the Sultanate of Oman, including payment of transit fees” and “Another mistake by the US and Israel will turn the region into hell for them.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu responds: "Right now the fire on this front is contained, because Iran has stopped attacking us. If it attacks again - we will strike with force. Israel has the full right to self-defense and we are exercising it - I say this with appreciation and respect in my good talks with President Trump.”

🇮🇱ISRAEL CONTINUES TO STRIKE HEZBOLLAH - frequent ongoing reports of significant strikes in Lebanon, though not in Beirut.

Def. Min. Katz: The Dahiya in Beirut is like the northern towns. Any attack on Israel’s northern towns will lead to an attack on Dahiya. The IDF will continue to operate in Lebanon against the terrorist organization Hezbollah.

📺PHOTO - Ben Gurion airport is VERY busy with people heading to summer activities.

🇮🇱ISRAEL IS POUNDING IRAN - by all reports, Israel has been going at FULL FORCE on hitting Iran. Huge explosions, many sites across multiple cities, military, military storage, weapons production, IRGC bases, Basij population control facilities, targeted eliminations, and some petrochemical production sites. FULL FORCE, apparently to do as much damage as quickly as possible.

Iranian commentator: Israel is attacking with great force, even more than it did in the previous round.

What they do not appear to be focused upon: eliminating air defenses, eliminating underground missile bases.

Strangely, the IDF says “Contrary to reports, we have not attacked Iran in recent hours.” If not, it is unclear who is attacking.

Reports of elimination of the president of Iran.

🇮🇷IRAN BLINKS? Iran's security forces announced the end of military operations against Israel and warned of harsher attacks if Israel resumes attacking Lebanon.

🇮🇷IRAN CLOSES the Strait of Hormuz. Not that there was much traffic passing through, perhaps 5% of what was before 2 months ago. But for now, there is none.

🇮🇷IRAN BRAGS about using their latest missiles: the Khaybar Shekan type, and yesterday a combination of Emad missiles, Qadr F missiles, and Khaybar Shekan missiles were used, and are bragging about the capabilities. However, all missiles have been intercepted so far. All the “new” missile types have been used, and stopped, thank G-d.

They also claim to have launched their new jet propelled Hadid 110 explosive drones at Israel, though there were no reports of drones arriving.

A source close to the Revolutionary Guards: “The enemy will pay a heavy price, Tel Aviv will go up in flames.”

🇮🇷IRAN ATTACK A CARGO SHIP - from India, a bulk carrier, off the coast of Oman.

🇺🇸TRUMP - ‘Israel and Iran must immediate stop the “shooting”.’ ( Huh? Did you ever notice how whenever Israel starts being particularly effective it immediately becomes critical to ‘stop the shooting’? )

🔹HOUTHIS FIRED a series of explosive drones at Israel.

🔹IRAQI HEZBOLLAH is threatening to start firing at Israel. Limited capability, mostly explosive drones but some missiles.

▪️GAZA AID IS MOVING - despite the official statement that aid was paused due to the war, Kerem Shalom crossing opened and is transferring aid to Hamas today.

▪️AIR TRAVEL - Wizz Air has halted all flights to/from Israel, though they are, for the moment, cancelling on a day-by-day basis. Azerbaijan Airlines has also cancelled flights.

▪️ZOO INCIDENT - in news of the weird, a disturbed Haifa zoo visitor smashed a side display window of the leopard exhibit, then fled to the bear exhibit and climbed a tree. It was later determined to be a combat veteran suffering from mental health issues. The animals were not harmed and did not leave their exhibits, due to the fast reaction of the staff.

▪️BAGRUT (Matriculation Exams) - The Ministry of Ed. ntends to set new dates for the matriculation exams no later than the last date of the B schedule.

Reports of burning shrapnel falls in Kiryat Ata, Kiryat Bialik, and Beit Shemesh. As well, 2 missile hits in open areas in the north.

🔪TERROR - STABBING - at the Jerusalem-Judea tunnel checkpoint.

🔪TERROR - THWARTED - An 18-year-old Israeli Arab citizen from I'billin was arrested, he joined Hamas and planned to carry out an attack in a Jewish town in the Galilee area. He tried to purchase weapons and hid ammunition in his home.

🇮🇱RESERVES CALL UP - Reservists for Home Front Command are being called up. Several additional combat battalions are expected to be called up to reinforce the borders.

▪️ANALYSTS SAY - the picture becomes clearer, Israel is becoming Trump's executor to pressure the Iranians. Trump will say he has no connection to the attacks and told Bibi not to attack, while Israel attacks Hezbollah in Lebanon and Iran. The pressure on the Iranian regime will increase, and they may be pushed towards a deal. And if not, Trump can either attack or continue his blockade.

It seems Trump has learned the rules of the game in the Middle East.

📺VIDEO - “I fired a $5 million dollar ballistic missile at Israel and successfully broke someone’s roof. I hurt a Jew, it’s a win” said an Iranian IRGC member (maybe). Damaged home in a Jewish town in Samaria from a cluster bomb-let from an Iranian ballistic missile fired at Israel this morning.

⭕IRAN and THE HOUTHIS have attacked Israel with ballistic missiles, at civilian areas, 9 TIMES (one attack fell en route) since late last night and this morning.

💩SAY WHAT? “Israel is currently targeting Iranian … infrastructure facilities unrelated to the energy sector.”

As Iran targets CIVILIANS, we very seriously ask, WHY NOT TARGET ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE? Why not completely hobble the regime?

The whole hoping they’ll be overthrown and hoping they’ll stop their bad behavior strategy has been a complete failure. I personally am sick of my 4 year old granddaughter having to run to shelter because ‘bad people are throwing things at my head’.

( Update: See below, seems the IDF did target 1 facility, a “yes we can really make it hurt” threat. )

🩸INJURIES - a cluster bomb hit a Jewish town in Samaria, 3 houses damaged, 1 seriously injured.

♦️IDF ATTACKED a petrochemical facility in southern Iran in Mahshahr. Iran has now issued an emergency evacuation for workers at the petrochemical complex in Ahvaz.

⭕ODD ALERT at Zikim Beach, just north of Gaza. We haven’t seen data on whether this was a launch by Hamas, or an odd piece of shrapnel from firing at Be’er Sheva by Iran or the Houthis. Or a false alert.

⚠️OSINT ON HEZBOLLAH says they are preparing to fire long range rockets into Israel. Northern towns and cities should be prepared for short alert fire from Lebanon.

▪️DIPLOMACY ANALYSIS - The U.S. president is showing he knows how to maneuver the media, offering exclusive interviews, causing distraction, while providing cover for Israel to attack and leaving the Iranians unprepared.

This maintains the element of surprise while allowing for denial from the US.

It seems completely coordinated. Israel is trying to send a deterrent message while giving Tehran a ladder so it can step down. Sadly, their honor will likely prevent them from doing so.

If Hezbollah fires towards Israel, its command centers in Dahieh will be severely hit.

This has nothing to do with Iran.

A friend I hadn’t seen in years came up to me at the tefillin stand. I asked him where he was living. He said that was still living in Toronto, but he also had an apartment in Israel, and he and his wife were thinking about moving here.

I told him to definitely move here.

He said he had just prayed that Hashem should show him what to do.

⭕CEASEFIRE ATTACKS - THIS MORNING, EXPLOSIVE DRONE at Arab Al Aramsha, northern Israeli-Arab town.

.. Hezbollah officially PUBLISHED, “We achieved 10 attacks on Israel yesterday”, long after the official Trump imposed ceasefire.

♦️GAZA - a significant IDF airstrike last night in Gaza City.

▪️INTERNAL VIOLENCE - Last night a group of Haredi zealots attacked and attempted to enter High Court Judge Sohlberg’s home in Gush Etzion.

The town’s 2 alert squads, on call for infiltration / attack defense, both were called up to respond as the police had insufficient forces to deal with the zealot crowd.

The front of the home was damaged (windows broken, garden and flower pots destroyed), the family car was smashed.

62 rioters arrested, some with GoPro’s and camera drones to record and publicize the event.

They arrived by chartered bus, and after the attack were stopped by authorities trying to leave on the bus. ( A riot tour service. )

Following the attack medics were called to the home to check the judge, who was feeling unwell following the event.

The Prime Minister and various government officials strongly condemned the incident.

However, the Haredi parties Degel HaTorah and Shas issued a joint statement:

“We are pained and shocked by the ongoing persecution and trampling of Torah scholars by the High Court justices. We have warned time and again that these steps will lead to radicalization and anarchy, and unfortunately we are seeing how these fears are being realized.

We strongly condemn any act of violence of any kind. Violence is contrary to the path of Torah and is completely unacceptable.

However, we demand that the leaders of the right-wing parties, who were quick and right to condemn the incident, also condemn the ongoing and cruel persecution of Torah scholars and yeshiva students. The blood of Torah scholars is not in vain."

.. ON THE ZEALOTS - the very extremist Haredi ‘Jerusalem faction’ has DISAVOWED the event ( too extreme for them ).

Haredi analyst: ‘The most frightening thing is that there is no event coordinator. There is no public responsibility and no organized leadership. However, there is tacit support from the Haredi media, and the extremists are responding to the positive attention.’

.. ANOTHER ATTACK STOPPED - The police caught another minibus of Haredi extremists on its way to the home of High Court judge Mintz. Dilemma: On the bus were 40 men who qualify as draft dodgers. .. Related: U.S. House of Representatives pass a war powers resolution limiting Trump’s powers regarding war in Iran. The decision does not have binding force, but is a step in the process.

🇱🇧HEZBOLLAH / LEBANON - Apparently the Lebanese government officially agreed to initial terms with Israel yesterday, under the auspices of the U.S. State Department (who is probably holding Israel’s plans to attack Beirut over their heads)…

. . Ceasefire by Hezbollah.

. . Establishment of initial control zones for the Lebanese army to take full and real control in south Lebanon.

. . All Hezbollah operatives south of the Litani river must evacuate.

. . Hezbollah is officially, by the Lebanese government, declared an enemy of the state.

That’s it. No Israeli withdrawal (to be discussed when the Lebanese army is truly in control), no IDF ceasefire against Hezbollah, and no return of residents to southern Lebanon.

Jeanette has twin grandsons who are in the Israeli Reserves and were serving in Gaza. It was a very stressful time for her. She pledged that when they came back home, she would give a pair of tefillin to someone who needed them, and she asked me what to do. I arranged for her to donate a pair of tefillin to the Chabad Tefillin Stand at the Kotel, and now whenever someone puts them on, she is saying, “Thank You Hashem.” A very nice way to say Thank You to the One Who brought the boys back home.

❌HEZBOLLAH REJECTS - We reject an American ceasefire proposal according to which we would stop fighting in exchange for an Israeli commitment not to attack in Dahiya. We are only ready for a complete ceasefire, with the withdrawal of IDF forces from all Lebanese territory, we will not accept Israel's freedom of action in Lebanon.

⭕HEZBOLLAH FIRES - Since the Trump announcement of a Beirut ceasefire line, Hezbollah has fired rockets and drones.

❓WHAT HAPPENED? Israel finally reached its limit with attacks on northern Israel and decided to up its reach, preparing to drop buildings in the Hezbollah section of Beirut (called the Dahiya).

Iran, who backs Hezbollah, announced it was suspending negotiations with the U.S. and would attack U.S. positions if Israel acted.

President Trump pressured Netanyahu to halt the action, under the condition “Hezbollah doesn’t fire into Israel (but can fire at Israeli troops in Lebanon), and Israel doesn’t fire into Beirut, but can fire at anywhere else in Lebanon”, with, theoretically, agreement from both Hezbollah and Israel.

The question: why? Trump seems to be working extremely hard to negotiate a position with only 2 goals: remove Iran’s nuclear project, and re-open the Strait of Hormuz. Iran is stinging him along, which is increasing the world economic pressure, trying to create victory conditions. It’s hard to see how this doesn’t blow up.
