It’s the opposite of it. It means “senses” perceptions. Sight. Hearing, touch and all that. Consciousness is actually the one which is aware of these sense. That is the true us. And when we realise that - we have bekhudi as we become one with the divine consciousness! Detachment from the body and mind. Whatever we think we are. We are not. We realise that. <br /><br />That is bekhudi - the melting down of the self. The self you think you are. Then you want anything. You become happy as is. <br /><br />Sufism and intact all spirituality, religions and philosophies is about realising that. That you are the consciousness. Divine. And then there is your brain and body. Which changes and moves. You however stay still. You are love already. You have everything already. I would like to point out one thing. Sufi poetry represents an awakened state of people. Who have potentially realised that they are not their brains or bodies. They are the divine consciousness. That is what Sufism is about too. <br />To achieve this one has to work very hard in detaching themselves from the assumed self (the person we think we are) <br /><br />This detachment from the assumed self is what is meant by be-khudi <br /><br />The removal of the “I”. The person I think I am.
