One of the good solutions to prevent people from accessing sensitive data on your computer is by storing all those confidential files and folders in a particular hard drive partition and then hide them. Facebook provides a convenient way for you to chat with your family and friends with it’s built-in chat service, Facebook Chat. Somehow, they are lack of functionality and features. They don’t provide you with emoticons and smileys, and they definitely don’t allow you to store your chat conversations. In my previous post, I have shown you how to add emoticon list in your Facebook Chat window. So today, we will learn how to save all your Facebook chat messages.

Facebook Chat History Manager is a Firefox extension that saves all your Facebook conversations locally in Firefox. Your chat messages are securely stored and password-protected. Therefore, no one can access and view your chat history without the correct password.

To setup Facebook Chat History Manager, after you’ve installed the extension, visit this page, http://apps.facebook.com/firechm/ and click “Allow” button. Now, create an account with Chat History Manager. From the Firefox menubar, navigate to Tools> Facebook Chat History Manager> Create Account.

You can view all your saved chat messages anytime either online or offline. To view chat history online, visit this page and click View Chat History. The chat messages can be filtered by friend or date.

For offline access, press Ctrl+Alt+F to open the chat history window. You need to login to view the chat history.

In my previous post, I have introduced a Wordpress plugin called Share Count button for Facebook. Since it’s a Wordpress plugin, therefore the share button can only be displayed on Wordpress blogs.

Few days back, Facebook has launched a new version of Facebook Share that includes button with a live counter, which shows the number of times a particular article, video or piece of content has been shared on Facebook. This is a great news to all bloggers because the Facebook Share Count button can now be added to any website especially on blogspot. What’s you need to do is simply add a few lines of code.

Just head over to Facebook Share page. Make sure you choose the style as Button and the “Live Counter” option is ticked. Then, choose whether you want to display the live counter above or inline with button. Finally, copy and paste the codes to your blog. Simple as that!

Hard Drive Powerwash is a Windows utility that clean up your hard disk by removing file clutter from your system drive, external drives or network drives. File clutter refers to files created by applications for temporary use. Often when the temporary files are no longer needed, they are not removed, hence taking up more spaces from time to time on your system. One of the things that most of you (including me) really hate to do after a clean Windows installation is installing dozens of software applications in your PC. It’s way too time consuming and tedious. Even searching and downloading the latest versions of your favourite applications can waste you a lot of time.

Ninite is a great web service that allows you to create a customized installer for multiple freeware applications. By creating just a single installer, you can install dozens of your favourite applications in one go.

To create the installer, first you need to pick the applications that you want to include in your installer from Ninite main site. You can choose from 60 choices of software from categories like web browsers, messaging tool, media players, photo editors and more. All the applications are of latest versions.

Once done with your selection, hit the “Get Installer” button to download the installer. After download, simply run the installer. The installer will display all your selected applications on the main window. From here, you can sit back and relax and lets Ninite handles the installation process.

All the applications will be automatically downloaded and installed to their default directories on your system. Ninite installs apps with default settings and disable any toolbar installation. Cool!

Lately, I have been talking quite a lot about several Greasemonkey scripts for Facebook. They are purposely installed to help you boost your experience with Facebook. With these scripts, you can put great features on Facebook that are not made available by Facebook itself likes adding download link for Facebook video, removing ads from Facebook, add emoticon lists on Facebook Chat and much more.

I have covered a few great Facebook Greasemonkey scripts in my previous posts and there are a lot more scripts that are worth mentioning here. So instead of writing individual posts to introduce all these scripts one by one, I now compiled a list of 11 awesome Facebook Greasemonkey scripts in this post.
