Here's a little card created using the new retro camper die from My Favorite Things. What a cute die! I absolutely adore it. The sentiment is from an MFT stamp set. Paper is the Travel Girl collection by October Afternoon. The ribbon is from Michaels.

A New Baby Boy Onesie Mini

I had the pleasure of creating another baby boy onesie mini album and gift box for a friend who is expecting.

This time, I used Echo Park's Bundle of Joy paper collection. It's an adorable collection! Love the colors, the patterns, the chipboards and stickers. It's all so stinkin' cute.

Here is the gift box for the mini. I used another plain white box from Michael's and dressed it up with a some patterned paper from the 6x6 pad from the collection. I decorated the top with a C (baby's initial) and a star that I cut out from my Silhouette Cameo. I recently purchased a Cameo (when I swore I would not buy another die cutting machine), but I got a great deal from HSN and 5 easy payments (lol), so I could not resist. I'm very pleased with the machine and used a few cuts for this project.

Baby Girl Cards

Baby Boy Onesie Mini Album

Wow, I sure do know a lot of people who are expecting, so I've been working on baby projects like crazy. Today I'm sharing a box and onesie mini album I created for a coworker who is expecting a baby boy.

This is the box. It was a plain white box from Michael's. The dimensions are close to a 6 inch square. I covered the box with papers from a K&Co. collection for a baby boy that I also picked up at Michael's. Really cute collection. LOVE the colors. The chipboard on the top was also from Michael's.

Hi folks! Sorry it has been so long since I posted, but I needed to take a hiatus from crafting for personal reasons. Everything is back on track now and I'm looking forward to posting more regularly once again. :)

A Haunting We Will Go Blog Hop

For my hop project, I created a Halloween door pocket using the Hanging Bag die from Sizzix, the spooktacular My Mind's Eye Lost & Found Halloween paper collection and fun flowers from I Am Roses. I cut the pocket from black chipboard and embellished it with chipboard pieces from the paper collection, a doily, lace and some tiny box pleated trim from Melissa Frances. I also used some Michaels goodies on my project including the little bat (isn't he cute?), bows from ribbon with a harlequin pattern and a spray with black feathers and orange glittered balls.

IAR September Challenge

Halloween is the BEST, and I had a super time making this Halloween card as part of the September Challenge being hosted by I Am Roses.

For my card, I created a circle easel card and went vintage using the cute paper line Happy Haunting by Graphic 45. I Am Roses has adorable fun flowers in new fall colors available on their web site now, and I was very excited to use several of them on my card.

Craft Studio Update

Work on my new craft studio is coming along. Trim has all been painted out white from a honey stain, shelving and storage grids have been hung, purging and organizing continue. I will be sooooooooo super excited to move into my new room this weekend. I'm working on flower storage, and this is what I came up with. I'm storing some of my lovely flowers and petals from I Am Roses using the Sterlite storage boxes for 12x12s along with a drawer organizer from The Container Store. Don't they look yummy?! I haven't worked with this solution yet, but I think I'm going to like pulling out the Sterlites and looking them over to select the flowers to use for each project. I went with a cream, white, pink, black color scheme for the first drawer, since that is a favorite color combination of mine. Now to decide the color combos for the other drawers....

Guest Room Makeover/Takeover

I have exciting news to announce. I am taking over/making over the guest bedroom into my arts & craft studio office. Yay!!!

My artsy area has been located in the basement the past few years, but I have so wanted two things — a space with natural light and the Bedford Project Table from Pottery Barn. I have both now.

I will be working on organizing and outfitting my new space this week and next. I'm in heaven. I love the table, and I like the opportunities and challenges of this new space. At 8.5' x 13', is much smaller than my basement space. So I need to make my new studio functional without overcrowding.

The design team members for I Am Roses, including myself, designed some projects to share with you for inspiration. I do not have kids but to make the challenge interesting, fun and personal for me, I joined a swap over at Your Paper Pantry hosted by Alease to create some vintage back-to-school postcards. I love creating postcards, so I am super excited to participate in Alease's swap.

For my postcards, I used the Graphic 45 ABC Primer collection and the gorgeous new vintage yellow toned daisies from IAR. I also have a burgundy red rose (1 inch), several super tiny yellow rose buds (they're so cute!) and mini hydrangea petals sprayed with red rocks and sunflower colored mists.

I hope the ladies who receive my cards enjoy them. I cannot wait to see the postcards I get in the swap. Swaps are so much fun!!! Yay!

Lost & Found Altered File Folder

Because I need even more places to shop for crafty supplies :) I was checking out Staples to see if they had anything interesting. I came across some multi-pocket manila file folders by Pendaflex, and thought they would be lots of fun to alter.

So I dipped into my Lost & Found 2 papers from My Minds Eye and altered away. I am super proud of myself for cutting them up and using them for this project. I had been hoarding them a little while -- well for about a year.

I also used a big gardenia and a mix of R4, R8 roses and rose buds from I Am Roses. A complete list of flowers I used in the project with links is below.

For the inside of the folder, I created a pocket on the left side using a scrap that was leftover from the cover sheet when I cut down the 12 x 12. I also used some dies from Accucut to create the library pocket and tags.

For the right side, I simply decorated the multi-tiered pockets that come with the folder.

I Am Roses July Challenge - YAY!

If you have a Tuesday Morning in your neck of the woods, then you may know they had some terrific deals on Graphic 45 paper recently. So I super stocked up and decided to use some of that paper for this project. It's a cover for a vintage beach-themed mini.

Super fun creating this. For the flowers I used:

I live in New Jersey and the Jersey Shore is just 40 minutes away so this will be a fun place to record memories of my special sunny fun-filled days down the Jersey Shore. My favorite shore town in Jersey is LBI, Long Beach Island, and it's a fun place to visit if you ever should get the chance. And guess what. The have the best CRAFT SHOWS! Lol. Some really terrific artists share their creations there, and you can see and pick up some cool stuff.

But one of the first pics going in the album is a photo of one of my fur babies enjoying the new kidde pool I purchased for my dog kiddos. Here it is:

Rock LOVES the kiddie pool. And I love the action shot of his enormous ears flapping. His breed is a Boxer, and they are fun, happy dogs.

And here's another one where he's chillaxin. :)

LOL. Summer is THE BEST. And I cannot wait to see everyone's submissions for the challenge. Altered Jewelry Box

I knew when I saw this unfinished jewelry box that it would look terrific altered with some I Am Roses flowers and the Ladies Diary collection from Graphic 45. But what project wouldn’t look terrific with those two amazing brands?

When it came to designing the top of the box, I was inspired by the v-neck. I love v-necks with their plunging drama, so I wanted to create that feel on the box. Accenting the v-neck are a doily and some white lace inside. Around the v, I created a necklace effect using some findings, and pendant chain from Michael’s Bead Landing collection. To embellish the V further, I also used a curly roses, white rose with pink in the middle, some cream and black half-inch roses and pink rosebuds from I Am Roses. A complete list of flowers and links is below.

And then I did a lot of fussy cutting and layering. :)

On the front of the box, I used more v-drama to pull back the paper over an elegant image of ladies gloves, and I accented the gloves with pearls for buttons and a pearl for a ring.

Inside the box, I used more I Am Roses flowers to accent the compartments to make them an even prettier place for holding little gems, jewels and trinkets.

For accent pieces, I also altered an embroidery hoop and a small kraft journal for writing secret wishes and special memories, and embellished both with coordinating I Am Roses flowers that I used throughout the box.

This was an especially fun project! Loving the flowers and the paper collection, which are MFEO — for sure.

"I Do" Shadowbox & I Am Roses June Challenge

Hi scrappy friends! My newest project is a little shadowbox that I created for the I Am Roses June Challenge. The theme is "I Do" and the challenge is to use a monochromatic color scheme. As you probably guessed by now, I sure do love PINK, but I also enjoy the beauty of neutral color. And this was a fun challenge and fun project to create.

I decided to use a new die I got from Accucut to make the shadowbox. It's a super cute die, and fellow IAR design team members Bona and Arlene have previously showcased the die in several amazing projects they created.

For the paper, I mixed Graphic 45's Baby to Bride collection with the Webster's Pages In Love collection. A complete list of the I Am Roses flowers I used is below.

Prima Almanac Altered Bottles and Tray

Don't you just love the Almanac paper collection? The pink, black and cream tones are among my favorites, and I adore how the paper collection has so many label die cuts. Those cuts inspired me to alter some bottles, because I thought the labels would look super cute on some bottles. And then I needed to alter a tray on which I could display my pretty bottles.

Here's a closer look at how I embellished the tray.

I purchased the bottles at Joann's for a $1 each, and the tray was a $.99 cent find from AC Moore. To alter the bottles, I used some burlap trim, twine in cream and black, and some seambinding that I distressed with my Vintage Photo Distress Ink. I also used some metal embellishments from Michaels, including a Tim Holtz crown trinket.

For the tray, I used a variety of I Am Roses flowers in cream, pink and black tones to complement the paper collection. A complete list of flowers with links is below. I also fussy cut the butterflies from the paper collection, used some polka dot tulle and a pearl spray.

I also made a card, using a vintage lady stamp from Michaels and a journaling spot from the Almanac paper collection.

I Am Roses May Challenge

I Am Roses is hosting a challenge for May — the theme is Mother's Day and the challenge is to use the colors purple or teal in your project.

As always, the design team members like to encourage you by creating our own projects for inspiration.

I created a card and altered a balsa box from Michaels for my mom. I used the Websters Pages Hollywood vogue paper collection and fussy cut the clock and butterflies from their new 6x6 motifs paper pack. The floral background paper is from Graphic 45's new kraft collection. For the flowers, I used curly roses, R5 white roses, mini hydrangea, rosebuds and mini roses from I am Roses. The dress from was cut with an Accucut custom die that I designed.

Little Darlings Keepsake Box

For my newest project, I altered an unfinished recipe box that I purchased from my local AC Moore to create a keepsake box for a baby girl. I used the beautiful paper collection from Graphic 45 called Little Darlings. I also used tons of beautiful flowers from I Am Roses. There's a list with links for the flowers I used at the bottom of this post.

First I stained the box with a deep walnut color, painted over that with vintage white paint from Folk Art and then sanded and distressed the box to give it more of a vintage look. Also to give the box more presence, I topped it with an MDF plaque and some baby booties that I sewed myself - can you believe it?! I used a free baby bootie pattern I found off the Internet and some nice thick ivory felt that I purchased at Joann's. To make the booties look vintage, I trimmed them out with some laces, seam binding and some super cute mini crochet flowers from I Am Roses.

I also decorated the top of the recipe box with my new favorite I Am Roses flowers — they're all my favorites, LOL :) — the white roses with pink centers. OMG they are gorgeous. I LOVE them. I also used rosebuds, a daisy, a gardenia that I topped with butterflies that I fussy cut from the paper collection, as well as a large white rose.

Since this is a recipe box, I created six tabbed dividers that can be used to organize photos or other small keepsakes. I was inspired to create an organizer with dividers after watching project videos from Marlene and Jade who are 4umarlene and JadedStudios on YouTube. Their organizer projects looked like a lot of fun, and I had a blast making these dividers.

I used a lot of hydrangea petals and that colored with the new Nantucket Pearls collection from Lindy's Stamp Gang. What BEAUTIFUL colors. I was simply blown away working with them on this project.

Fairy Belle Altered Hanger and Iris Flower Tutorial

I Am Roses is having a new challenge — April Showers Brings May Flowers, and this month's challenge is to create a flower, using IAR products such as flowers, petals, stamens and/or leaves, and feature your flower in a project.

As part of the challenge, I created an altered hanger using the Fairy Belle paper collection. I altered the hanger to create a fairy garden scene.

For my flower, I created this iris using IAR petals and stamens.

For a tutorial on how I made my Iris flower and to get a closer look at my project, please see the video below which is available on my YouTube channel.

This was a super fun challenge, and I am really looking forward to seeing all the flowers that everyone creates for their submissions. The IAR design team members worked very hard on their flowers and projects, and the results are stunning! Captured Fairies Card

Hi everyone!!! I've been meaning to post this whimsical card featuring captured fairies.

For the bottles, I used my new stamps from Graphic 45's Curiosity Shop collection, stamped them on acetate and fussy cut them out. The fairies, frog and flowers are fussy cut from the Once Upon a Springtime collection by Graphic 45. I used papers from LeRomantique and Once Upon a Springtime.

I decorated the bottles with twine and ribbons as well as a cameo, a pearl and slider buckle, and a crown charm for the prince who's just waiting to bust out of his frog body when that special princess comes along. LOL

Gorjuss/Vanity Fair Card

Today I'm sharing a new card that I created using the Gorjuss stamp called Ruby and the My Mind's Eye Vanity Fair paper collection.

I LOVE Gorjuss stamps and it was fun creating this card, although I have to say the fussy cutting for this particular stamp was hard work. All that beautiful hair and the thin ropes of the swing made this a true fussy cutting challenge. LOL. I ultimately had to cut her down to three different pieces and re-assemble her. But it was worth it. The card turned out super cute.

I suspended the Gorjuss girl on a swing from the Tim Holtz hanger from the handing sign die, and I decked out the hanger with lovely I Am Roses flowers in white and orange/tangerine hues, a pretty pink carnation that I spritzed with some Rose Tea Glimmer Mist, plus a two tone maple leaf. I applied Glossy Accents to the cherry blossoms. I'm really digging the orange/tangerine toned flowers from I Am Roses.

For the sentiment, I used my new Graphic 45 Typewriter stamps and punched out the letters with a 5/8" circle punch. The lace trim is from Joann's.

Vintage Desktop Calendar Caddy

I created a new altered project — a vintage desktop calendar caddy. I found the calendar at AC Moore in the unfinished wood section and wanted to alter it for a friend who's a teacher. I used Graphic 45's ABC Primer paper collection and some lovely vintage-colored flowers from I Am Roses. The flowers coordinated so beautifully with the tones in the paper.

To dress up the caddy, I took one of the cute vintage frames from the Michael's $1.50 bin, deconstructed the back and mounted it to a chipboard die cut. I used the Tim Holtz baroque shape and covered it with Graphic 45 paper. I mounted that to the calendar to give it more of custom look. The image in the frame is from the paper collection. I did a lot of fussy cutting for this project which was fun because the images in the paper collection are so adorable.

I finished the wood with a warm pecan stain and sealed it as well.

The calendar caddy is embellished with flowers from I Am Roses (see the list below), a feather and a black vintage key from Tattered Angels. I hand-dyed the seam binding using Tim Holtz Vintage Photo reinker, which I watered down a bit for a lighter look.

For more dimension, on each side of the calendar, I have fussy cut images from the paper collection and a Tim Holtz bookplate that I colored with Espresso Color Wash.

The calendar is also a caddy which held a very sad-looking white pad, so I created a tag jotter using the Tim Holtz tag die and tucked that in there instead. MUCH BETTER. I had to the trim the tags down so that the jotter didn't pop up past the die cut where the frame is mounted.

For the tag jotter, I found this cute little mini chalkboard at AC Moore as well. Super cute.

For edge distressing, I used the Tim Holtz Gathered Twigs Distress Ink. I LOVE IT. It's perfect for vintage projects, and I hope Ranger adds the color to their permanent line up.

Kitchen Mini Album Kit - Now Available
