Day 3 (week 2): It's Wednesday, traffic is usually calm, CO2 is already preparing his retort on "masochist eco-freak cyclist" but he is underestimating the time to bough one baguette and a dozen of eggs he needs to bring back home tonight: CO2 arrives only 3 minutes before Oxygen and the baguette is a Supermarket bread (baaahhh) which was the only way to stop (and park !) once.

On its side, Oxygen ride through 5 different bakeries and almost same number of groceries and can choose the best one without compromising his ride time. Madam will be happy (hey, there is no 'feuillantine au chocolat' in Supermarket ;-).

Monday (week 2): Tough start for C02 this week, he has just received a nice letter from our bling-bling president: 120$ fine and 3 points less for exceeding the speed limit,
82 mph instead of 68 mph (See Tuesday).

Today's journey is consistent with other days, the traffic kept moving till the greater Grenoble and then 3 miles of traffic jam => 30 minutes for CO2

Oxygen journey is unchanged, in between 42 and 44 minutes depending on wind's direction.

CO2 : 3 pts (less :-))), Oxygen : 3 points

Friday (week 1) : It's raining, CO2 knows there will be a lot of traffic and ... he is true, 4O minutes to drive the 16 miles. He feel reassured by thinking to Oxygen which will be wet as a fish but Oxygen is not a daredevil and has decided to telework (viva Internet :-).

Thursday (week 1): CO2, scalded by yesterday's traffic jam , decided not to drive the main congested roads and instead discover the joy of all those fancy urban obstacles (bicycle track, zone 30, overhead walkway, speed bump, bus lanes, etc ...) not really in favor of cars, Oxygen overtake CO2 by at least 5 minutes...

Wednesday (week 1) : CO2 is stuck in traffic jam at 3 miles from work, 15 minutes lost.

Oxygen benefits from favorable weather conditions (south wind - 10 miles per hour) to improve his time (42’), he arrives at the same time as CO2 which is very nervous because of the hectic driving conditions.

At mid-morning break, CO2 et Oxygen are discussing what's the cost of their journey, CO2 quickly estimate its daily round-trip drive to 10 Euros (for Gas & Toll) plus 5 Euros (depreciation + insurance + maintenance ), Oxygen is charging the battery of his motorized bicycle once per day (i.e 3 hours at 10 cts/Kwh) which ends in 0,30 Euros plus 1 euro for depreciation and 0,8 euro for maintenance (hey, he need one more desert for lunch for all the calories lost pedaling ;-)

Tuesday (week 1): Traffic is clear, absolutely no traffic, CO2 is in the office after 25 minutes, 20' before Oxygen.

Starting today and for 2 weeks, a ~~fiction~~ story featuring 2 actors in their daily journey to work from Monday to Friday.
The names of both match's commuters have been randomly selected... any resemblance with real situations or people is, of course, purely coincidental !

Monday (week one): Traffic is mostly smooth this morning and the race will start at 8:30 to heads-up work office, 12.3 miles away as the crown flies.

CO2 will drive 16.3 miles with his car in 33 minutes.

and Oxygen will ride 14.4 miles with his bike in 44 minutes.
