She is the Echa, Chaitanya Gnyana shakthi swaroopini. Lalita means " she who plays ", all creation, manifestation and dissolution, Tripura means the three worlds Svarloka ( heaven) Bhuloka ( Physical world) patala (Hell), Sundari means most beautiful so in full Lalitha Thripura Sundari means " The Most Beautiful Girl in the three Worlds ". She is the Goddess of bliss.

The lalitha Sahasranama is one of the famous prayers of Sri Lalitha Tripura Sundari Devi, details her charms from head to foot, and describes her as a mother to all beings in the World. Lalitha sahasranamam is a very powerful prayer of Sri Lalitha Tripura Sundari Devi especially auspicious to chant this on Fridays.

It is very auspicious to chant Lalitha Sahasranama on this day. Daddojanam (curd rice) or Gudannam (bellapu Annam, jaggery rice) as prasadam. She appears enthroned with her left foot upon the sri chakra, holding her traditional symbols like sugarcane, flower, noose (pasam), goad (amkusam), and right side with Goddess Lakshmi Devi and left side with goddess Saraswathi Devi.

Balatripura is the first goddess in the Tripura traya and she is the main goddess of all in the sriyantra. Without having got the mantra of bala one is not eligible to perform the sri yantra pooja.

In the first amnaya of srichakra bala resides, so without worshiping bala one cannot perform pooja to sridevi. Kanaka durga is decorated as Bala as SRI ADI SHANKARA, has established srichakra here and so to beget the anugraha of bala she is decorated as bala and one has to definitely see her beauty in this alankaram.

Worshiping her is the vital part in the shakti pooja. Even listening to her name is considered to be beneficial to the sadhaka.

Summer Special Trains from Vijayawada to Hyderabad

South Central Railway will run 60 summer special trains Via Vijayawada to Hyderabad during the Months of April May & June 2013 in order to clear extra rush of passengers:-

1) Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam-Sec’bad AC Summer Special Trains (26 Services)

Train No. 07148 Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam AC Summer Special will depart Secunderabad at 21 30 hrs on 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th April, 3rd, 10th, 17th, 24th, 31st May, 7th, 14th , 21st, 28th June 2013 and arrive Visakhapatnam at 10 35 hrs on the next day.It will arrive/depart Vijayawada at 03.40/04.00 hrs.

In the opposite direction, Train No. 07147 Visakhapatnam- Secunderabad AC Summer Special will depart Visakhapatnam at 20 00 hrs on 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th April, 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th May, 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th June 2013 and arrive Secunderabad at 09 45 hrs on the next day. It will arrive/depart Vijayawada at 02.00/02.20 hrs.

Enroute, these special trains will stop at Kazipet, Warangal, Khammam, Madhira, Vijayawada, Eluru, Tadepalligudem, Rajahmundry, Samalkot, Annavaram, Tuni, Anakapalli and Duvvada. These special trains will have one I AC, three AC II Tier, ten AC III Tier, two Second Class Luggage Cum Brake Vans totaling to 16 coaches.

2) Machilipatnam-Secunderabad-Machilipatanam Special Trains ( 16 services)

Train No. 07049 Machilipatnam-Secunderabad Summer Special will depart Machilipatnam at 21 30 hrs o¬n , 7th, 14th , 21st, 28th April, 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th May and arrive Secunderabad at 05 55 hrs o¬n the next day. It will arrive/depart Vijayawada at 12.10/12.30 hrs.

In the opposite direction, Train No.07050 Secunderabad-Machilipatnam Special will depart Secunderabad at 06 30 hrs on 8th, 15th, 22nd, 29th April, 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th May and arrive Machilipatnam at 14 35 hrs o¬n the same day. It will arrive/depart Vijayawada at 23.35/23.50 hrs.

Enroute, these trains will stop at Chilakalapudi, Pedana, Kavutaram, Gudlavalleru, Gudiwada, Vijayawada, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Warangal and Kazipet stations. These trains will consists of o¬ne AC II Tier, eight Sleeper Class, six general Second Class, two Second Class Luggage Cum Brake Van Coaches, totaling to seventeen coaches.

3) Vijaywada-Lingampalli (Near Hi-Tech city, Hyderabad) Special Trains : ( 18 Services)

Train No. 07207 Vijayawada –Lingampalli Special Train will depart Vijayawada at 22.00 hrs. on 4^th,11^th,18^th & 25^th April, 2013 and on 2^nd,9^th, 16^th, 23^rd & 30^th May, 2013 (9 Services) and arrive at 5.30 hrs. at Lingampalli the next day.

In the Return direction, Train No. 07208 Lingampalli-Vijayawada Special train will depart Lingampalli at 22.00 hrs. on 5^th, 12^th, 19^th & 26^th April, 2013 and 3^rd, 10^th, 17^th, 24^th & 31^st May, 2013 (9 Services) and arrive Vijayawada at 05.30 hrs, the next day.

Enroute, the Special Trains will halt at Khammam, Warangal, Kazipet & Secunderabad Station in both the directions. The Special Trains will comprise of One (01) Ac 2 tier Coach, One (01) Ac 3 Tier Coach, Six (06) Sleeper class, Five (05) General Second Class Coaches and Two (02) Second class Luggage cum Brake Van Coaches totalling to 15 Coaches in all.

Victoria Jubilee Museum, Vijayawada

Victoria Jubilee Museum is located on Bandar Road in Vijayawada City. It was constructed in ashlar masonry and is a classic example of the Indo European architectural style. The foundation stone fro the building was laid by Robert Sewell, the then District Collector, Krishna on June 27th 1887, to mark the occasion of Golden Jubilee Celebrations of Queen Victoria’s coronation. The building was constructed to house the industrial exhibition. Later it came under the control of the Zamindaras of Nuzivid, District Board, Krishna and Zilla Parishad of Krishna. In the year 1962 the Department of Archaeology & Museums, Government of Andhra Pradesh took over the building and established an Archaeological Museum.

In 1921, the All India Congress Committee met here, when Sri Pingali Venkayya of Munagala Samsthana presented the tri-colour falg to Mahatama Gandhi in the presence of other great National leaders like Motilal Nehru, Jawaharlal Nehru, Vallabhai Patel, Lala Lajapati Roy, Babu Rajendra Prasad, Tanguturi Prakasham Pantulu etc. To this tri-colour flag Mahatma Gandhi added the Chakra (wheel) symbol and declared it as the Indian Notational Congress Flag which was declared as the Indian National Flag by the Constituent Assembly on 22nd July, 1947.

After her victory in the battle with Mahishasura we celebrate Dasami the 10th day (9th day this year) as Vijayadasami, Vijaya means victory Dasami means 10th day. She is the mother of the world. She is the form of Lalitha tripura sundari devi. She appears on the 10th day sitting on the throne and holding sugarcane in one hand, and giving blessings to her devotees with a peaceful and beautiful smile.

In Kanaka durga temple (vijayawada) she appears like this in the day time and in the evening there will be a boat festival in Krishna river, they bring the Goddess Kanaka durga utsava vigraham (a small idol of Kanaka durga devi) down, they decorate a beautiful swan shape boat with lights and place the Devi idol on it and make few rounds in the Krishna river and bring back the idol to the main temple this is called Teppotsavam. Dasara is a very important and famous festival in Vijayawada which is celebrated every year. Kanakadurga temple is the synonymous with Vijayawada. Special poojas are performed during dasara and also called durga navaratrulu.

DAY 8 - SRI MAHISHASURA MARDINI DEVI

The most UGRA avataram of DEVI…. In chandi sapthasati too it is stated that MAHALAKSHMI with 18 (astadasa bhujas) with all devi & devatha shaktis destroyed chamara, and many demons and then Mahishasura ….as she killed MAHISA on NAVAMI , it is known as MAHARNAVAMI

This is the most fiercely form of Maa Durga which is the warrior aspect of divine mother. Mahishasura mardhani is the form of Durga Devi after she killed mahishasura. Mahishasura mardhani means the slayer of Mahishasur. So people celebrate this day as divine mother’s victory on bad evil.

She appears riding on a Lion with ten arms carrying weapons was given by Gods and maintaining a meditative smile on her beautiful face. Today devotees read Mahishasura Mardhini Stotram and offer Pulihora (tamarind rice) Garelu (lentil dumplings) panakam (jaggery juice) vadapappu (moong dal salad).

SRI DURGA DEVI SIGNIFICANCE

The most powerful goddess she is the mother of the universe, she is the power and she is behind the work of creation, preservation and destruction of the world. Durga Devi is mentioned by Vedas as a supreme power.

The meaning of the Durga in Sanskrit is a fort, or is a place which is very difficult to reach. And one more meaning of durga is Durgatinashini meaning is the one who removes your sufferings. Hindus believe that Durga Devi protects her devotees from the evils of the world and removes there sorrows.

She has Simha vaahini means Loin is her vehicle, she is Trinayani means she is a three eyed Goddess. So durga Devi appears on Astami day to kill Mahishasura (an inhumane force/ a demon with buffalo face) with three eyes and eight arms with holding many weapons and red color saree and beautiful jewellery is made by gold and ocean pearls and precious stones. On this Durgastami day people believe in praying Durga Devi with red color flowers, cloths and read Durga saptashati or Devi mahatyam and offers Pulagam or Kadambam Annam as prasadam.

SRI SARASWATHI DEVI SIGNIFICANCE

She is the goddess of knowledge and music and arts, and also she regarded as Vagdevi Goddess of sound, speech, consciousness and wisdom. Maa Saraswathi appears with white dress, seated on white lotus and with four hands in one hand holding a book, in one hand playing veena (a musical instrument) in one hand japa mala(rosary) this representing the power of meditation & spirituality and in the other hand Kamandalam(A pot with sacred water)representing creative and purificatory powers.

Saraswathi Devi is also referred as Sharda Devi. A white swan is her vahanam (vehicle) so that she is known as Hamsa vahini. On this navaratri fifth day especially Saraswathi devi is worshipped and all students are traditionally required to study on this day and also start study of something new on the same day. Small children under five years start to write their first alphabet which is called Vidyarambham is take part today. Gurus (teachers) are worshipped to day as embodiments of Saraswathi. Offering honey is very important in Saraswathi pooja, as honey represents perfect knowledge. Payasam is offered as parasadam on this day.

It is usually Moola Nakshatram which is Mahasaraswathi Nakshatram and Devi is decorated as MahaSaraswathi, it is with the help of Saraswathi the Yudha tantra was designed and planned and DEVI wonthe war against Mahishasura Chintamani saraswathi, Gnyana Saraswathi, Neela Saraswathi, Ghata Saraswathi,Kini Saraswathi, Antariksha Saraswathi, Maha Saraswathi are teh seven forms in which Saraswathi is spread in the universe Saraswathi devi killed Sumbha and Nishumba with her Gnyana and so Devi is decorated as saraswathi.
