What I discovered is you have to be the one that pushes, pushes, pushes. With so many out there, unless you make yourself heard (and can talk the talk), it can be a distressing long process. Also, again working with a person totally trained in short sales (not just pretending, but one with real “connections”) is going to help speed up the process. Of course market value, etc., has to be in line.

I will let you know that in 9/11, when our house first went on the market, I deliberately set the price to be enticing (read well below market value, but not out of line). That got lots of interest. I personally gave guided tours, actually encouraged by the realtors and agents bringing people through. Most were more than happy to step aside. After all, you’re the one that knows your house the best. It helped a ton. Plus you get the chance to say, “Of course the price was set to get you here, but have your agent comp the place and be realistic.” Didn’t take long after that.

All the best of luck to you… we were dealing with the Bank of A___ and Fannie Mae to boot. What a horrid combination, but it all worked out well once we had the perfect representation pulling for us.

I agree. I am currently in the short sale process myself. It has been 2 years. I am not sure how much longer it is going to take? I just hope that all will be well at the end of the process.

Hi Linnea, your visit is greatly appreciated. However, I think you’re missing the point there. This is not a community to put into some software and spam the living daylights out of it.
