Its July 4 which doesn’t mean much to us here in Malaysia but is Independence Day in the USA so Happy Independence Day to all US Readers!

REN Skincare Workshop: Change of Date

I’ve just been informed by the Organizers that there’s a change of date in the REN Skincare Workshop due to some unforseen circumstances. The new date and time is 19 July 2009 (Sunday) at 11am-1pm.

As 12 participants from the last announcement had already re-confirmed their places, there are now only 18 places left.

Recently, I had eyeshadows crease on my eyelids. It was the first time ever that such a thing has happened so it was with great interest that I studied this phenomenon. I tried the same eyeshadow the next day with a cream eye colour as base and this time, everything worked fine. Which brings us to this week’s reader’s question from Hasegawa Ayane:-

Hey PB~!

I was wondering if you knew of any good and affordable eyelid primers around? My eyeshadows always seem to fade just after a few hours and my eyelids aren’t oily. It’s not the eyeshadow since many people have reviewed it and it worked perfectly fine for them.

I personally have a problem sometimes with eyeshadows that fade e.g. Silkygirl Forest Green palette. I don’t use a dedicated eyelid primer mainly because I never managed to get my hands on the infamous Urban Decay Primer Potion or Too Faced Shadow Insurance, both of which are not available in Malaysia. Instead, what I do is use cream eyeshadows or concealer as an eye base.

Dior Miss Dior Chérie L’Eau Perfume is Beautiful!

I don’t fall in love with fragrances easily. I wear them and I have my favourites but the last one I liked from Dior was Chris 1947 which was seriously limited edition and so rare I’m spritzing it on only very sparingly to make it last.

However, when I first caught a whiff of the new Miss Dior Chérie L’Eau, I found myself seriously falling for this fragrance!

I’m no perfume afficionado so do bear with me The scent is very light and faintly floral – a perfect scent for the day or when you’re feeling girly. What this scent conjures up in my mind is summer, light dresses, flowers in a garden, pastel colours, raindrops on roses, whiskers on kittens … you get what I mean

Review: Garnier Aqua Defense Essence – H20+ Face Oasis Dupe!

This was supposed to be a review of the new Garnier Aqua Defense Essence Moisturizer but in the process of test running it, I realised it was a passable dupe of H20+ Face Oasis for me! I’ll run this first as a review then to compare it with Face Oasis.

Garnier Aqua Defense Non Stop Intense Moisturizing Essence Review

The Garnier Aqua Defense Essence comes in a light green gel form in a tub. There is a light fresh smell that brings to mind fruits, in particular green apples.

The Aqua Defense Essence contains grape water to protect skin from free radicals, apple water for anti-oxidant action and vitamin E to smooth and protect skin from cellular damage.

What it is is a very light gel that absorbs quickly into the skin. I like how it feels as it feels cool going on the skin. If you have oily skin then this would be perfect for you. It adds moisture without feeling thick and sticky and despite what many people think, oily skin can be dehydrated too! So this is what the Garnier Aqua Defense Essnce is targeted at.

If you have combination or drier skin, the Aqua Defense Essence can be used like an essence / serum. In the day, I use this on its own under my sunscreen. At night, I use it under my usual night cream or the new Garner Aqua Defense Non Stop Moisturizing Gel Cream. The Gel Cream has a slightly creamier thicker texture to suit those with drier skin. If you are oily this essence might suffice.

We had a little technical error…

If you have been trying to access My Women Stuff over the past day and half you would have found yourself facing a suspended page.

Not to worry – I’m still here as those on Twitter have found out. I had a bit of trouble with the site going a little beserk (it must be a full moon!) and causing the server to crash so my host had to work overtime to help me with a remedy. It took a little longer than expected and we’re still patching as we go. A more permanent move/solution will be found soon enough. Its going to cost me a pretty penny though but oh well, such is life

To everyone who has emailed me, pinged me on Gmail and Tweeted to find out what’s wrong, I thank you all for your concern. I’m still here – a little shaken, but alive. And I’m hoping things will stabilize soon.

We’ll resume normal transmission tomorrow

Catching up on the 30 lipsticks in 30 days project with Day 29 and another favourite Maybelline lippie!

Maybelline 3D Collagen Watershine #304

Early in this series, I featured a Maybelline 3D Collagen Watershine lipstick in a bright sheer red. As we near the end of this series, I’m feature my favourite Maybelline 3D Collagen lipstick in #304. All you see in the picture is all that’s left of this lipstick! I didn’t even realise I was running out until I took this picture – time for a back up?

It looks pinky but on my lips #304 is a light sheer peach I use whenever I’m too lazy to think of what colours will go with my look of the day. This one goes with practically everything!

Yeah I’m a little behind on my 30 lipsticks in 30 days project but I’m going to finish this one Today we have another lipstick from Clinique.

Clinique High Impact Lipstick – RSVPink

Clinique’s High Impact lipsticks feel harder and drier than the Buttershines which I love. However, the colour pay off is better and I love this colour in RSVPink.

What it is in the tube is a soft pink. This colour is pretty much what you can expect on your lips.
