We're only just getting started.

So, I don't know if you've heard, but there's this whole awesome part of our country that keeps getting righteously fucked over.

Thought into action, my friends.

I got inspired a few months back to help out a project my mom's been doing for a long time. She volunteers with a bunch of folks rebuilding houses in New Orleans. It's one of the high points of her year, meaning she will never shut up about it. (Hi, momma!)

Okay, I say to myself, why don't we go? And take the internet? This internet ain't doing much anyway, except reading porn and posting videos of kittens. Not to say that's not awesome and all, but I got itchy to both travel and to actually, you know, put my money where my loud mouth is.

So we're going to go rebuild houses. And to talk nerd stuff at Tribecon. And to get shithouse wasted. And talk about that too. Y'all come on.

There’s a great article from the New York Times that describes the “100 Things Restaurant Staffers Should Never Do“. Reading it, I wholeheartedly agreed, and  a lot of these things apply to anyone who deals with customers on a regular basis. I worked for a long time in the service industry, and I went through a few of the highlights of the article to draw some correlaries.
