RIM has pushed out a new update for BlackBerry Travel in BlackBerry App World. BlackBerry Travel has been updated to version 2.0.40.99, but no changelog has been provided. Until now, creating Augmented Reality (AR) worlds had been a niche reserved to those with extensive programming experience. On the stage of Mobile World Congress 2012 taking place in Barcelona, Wikitude announces the launch of the myWorld feature in its Wikitude World Browser. With myWorld users now have the power of creating their very own AR World directly from their mobile device. Best of all myWorld users can allow their Facebook friends to enter their AR World as well. Available on Android, iOS and BlackBerry handsets myWorld also syncs with places created in Evernote.

With myWorld, users can easily create their very own and highly personalized AR World. Places can be created in real time on their smartphone or by interacting with a world map via the Wikitude myWorld Facebook App on the web. It allows the creation of a global AR experience for themselves and their friends while either on the go, or from the comfort of their home.

Smarter Apps let us know they have just released the first free beta version of an app that allows Google+ users to access their Google+ accounts natively using their BlackBerry smartphones.

Features of the Google+ app for BlackBerry include:

• View your stream, post to your stream, checkin, upload photos to your stream
• View your photos and photos from people in your circles
• Add, edit, delete people and circles
• View and edit your own Google+ profile
• Support for all BlackBerry OS 5 and above devices except the BlackBerry PlayBook

Some features of the Google+ app for BlackBerry that are not yet available include:

• Instant Upload
• Google+ Messenger

RIM has pushed out a new update for BBM Music. There’s no changelog, so you’ll have to let us know if you find anything new. BBM Music 1.1.0.17 can now be downloaded from BlackBerry App World here. Otherwise, the update should get pushed to your device.

We’ve been getting a lot of readers asking where they can find the Android app player in the new PlayBook OS 2.0. They’re also interested in knowing where the Android apps and games can be found.

The Android app player is a great little feature that is built right into the OS without it running as an app where you have to manually open it. Once you’ve download an Android ported app or game and open it, the Android app player will automatically launch in order for the Android app or game to work.

Once the Android app or game has been launched, you will notice a unique bar at the bottom. This bar will also show the icons of other Android apps or games you may have installed. You can click on those to easily switch between your downloaded Android apps and games.

Fear not if you’ve been hunting throughout your PlayBook for an icon labeled ’Android’ and you haven’t found one. To find the Android apps and games available to download, you can search for ‘Android’ in App World. They’re listed for you here. Virgin and Bell users who have the BlackBerry Curve 9360 will be getting an official OS 7.1 update tomorrow. The update will bring Curve 9360 users the ability to have a HotSpot (with connection of up to 5 devices), NFC functionality, FM Radio, and more. Expect to get the update beginning of the day through BlackBerry Desktop Manager.

When I have a little spare time I enjoy playing video games. I received an email from a reader who asked me if there were any good games for BBOS. The truth is we don’t have the selection of iOS or Android, but there are a few time killing games you can get. Here’s my top 5 BlackBerry games:

BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0 is finally here and has brought with it native email, calendar, and contacts. If you’re using BlackBerry Bridge, you may have noticed that you’ve been getting double notified on emails. That is because the Messages section is still active through BlackBerry Bridge, which is basically useless in PlayBook OS 2.0. Here is how you turn those Bride features off.

Open up the BlackBerry Bridge app and select the connected PlayBook you would like to edit. By clicking on the selected PlayBook it will bring up a few options, select ‘Device Properties’.

Once you’re in device properties, you can see all of the available BlackBerry services associated with Bridge. Here is where you can turn off Messages, Calendar, Contacts, etc. Therefore, letting you only get emails through the new native PIM app.
