For our 4th episode of the NahMean man-on-the-street interview series,  John Public talks to a wide range of Hip-Hop fans and participants in the culture about the day to day influence that rappers and their raps have on them and others as individuals. I would also like to take this opportunity to announce the upcoming NahMean series companion mixtape, John Says: NahMean, that Mr. Public is currently prepping and will be dropping right here in the coming weeks.

Says John:

Kids today are influenced by many different factors, with media, friends, parents and personal interest at the forefront. In our fourth episode, we wanted to look at the push and pull relationship music and culture share with each other and it’s ultimate influence on people (specifically today’s youth). We spoke with people entrenched in the genre of hip-hop, as well as some teens that offered their candid opinions on how music affects them. Spoke too soon. MTV is reporting that Lil Wayne’s attorney announced that the sentencing has been pushed back to March 2nd. The rapper is apparently suffering from a broken tooth that needs medical attention and the judge agreed to reschedule the sentencing. He will have to undergo surgery on February 12th in Miami, and will need a week to 10 days of recovery. The defense asked that he be sentenced on February 25th, but the judge decided on March 2nd as the new date. But the judge also said:

“I don’t want this to get pushed back anymore,” Solomon said. “This is the last adjournment.”

Lucky fucker.
