Never did he envision himself heading a multi-million dollar Taiwanese company that developed the world's first USB flash removable disk, which they called Pen Drive.

Pua Khein Seng went to Taiwan to get his engineering degree but ended up staying on, starting his own company and inventing the pen drive. "I went to Taiwan to pursue my undergraduate degree. I chose Taiwan only because it was too expensive to study either in the United States or Singapore."However, I did well in my undergraduate programme and was offered a place to do my masters," explained Pua, who was back in Kuala Lumpur recently for a holiday.

After completing his Masters in July 1999, Pua worked for about six months in a local company before deciding to set up his own venture company with four fellow engineers who had studied with him at Chiao Tung. "We were confident that we had the know-how and ability to start our own business, which is focused on USB technology. The company is called Phison because there are five of us - two Malaysians and three Taiwanese engineers," said Pua, 31, who hails from Sekinchan, Selangor, Malaysia.

Phison Electronics Corporation was set up in November 2000 and within six months the young entrepreneurs came up with their first invention - a USB storage device called Pen Drive. "We were the first company in the world to develop the USB Drive SoC (System On Chip) and we were very confident that the market for USB will be huge. At the time, no one believed in us so we had to do everything ourselves - from developing the technology, the chips to the product itself.

"We were only 27 at the time and inexperienced. But we were confident that we could design good systems and chips but we didn't know anything about selling. So, we sought partners or traders who could help sell our products for us," Pua added.

Through smart partnerships and shrewd strategies, Phison soon made its way into European, American and Japanese markets. One quick move was securing Japanese tech giant Toshiba as Phison's largest shareholder and customer. "We launched Pen Drive in June 2001 and by August the same year, we broke even! From September 2001, we were reaping monthly profits from our invention and there has been no turning back since."

Having established himself in Taiwan, Pua is in the midst of setting up Phison's branch in Malaysia, due to begin operations this February. "I am starting a branch in Malaysia because this is my country. I would like to do contribute to its development. We have about 100 engineers at Phison in Taiwan, 20 of whom are Malaysians. Though they studied in Taiwan, I had to re-train all the engineers I hire because, like most fresh graduates (in this field), they are not industry-ready upon graduation."

"Unfortunately, some of the Malaysian engineers want to return home after a couple of years because they are homesick, about to start a family and so on. Some prefer to work in Singapore, as it is closer to home. Instead of losing them to competitors, I decided to set up an office in Malaysia where they can still work for me," said Pua.

Another problem faced by returning computer engineers from Taiwan, Pua added, was the lack of job opportunities for hardware engineers in Malaysia."There is no environment or support for design engineers here in Malaysia. One of my Malaysian engineers from Phison returned home and ended up as a teacher in a Chinese school! I was shocked and thought, 'After all that training and re-training, he is going to just teach?' I told him to hold on till I open up the Phison branch in Malaysia."

Though he has been in Taiwan for the past 12 years and married to a Taiwanese, Pua is not sure how much longer he will remain there. "I have really no idea where I will be in 20 years. Maybe Taiwan, maybe Malaysia, maybe somewhere else ... it all depends on my business. The industry is moving so fast that I cannot predict what or where I will be," he said.

For the moment though, Taiwan is home for Pua, his wife and two children even though he misses the Malaysian way of life. "I come home once a year for Chinese New Year and will usually stay for about two weeks. There are several things I really miss about Malaysia. One is the food! For the past 12 years I have been craving for Malaysian food ... I miss laksa, curry noodles, chee cheong fun and all the other delicious dishes we have here."

"I also miss the lifestyle and quality of life here. When I come back, I am always amazed to see people hanging out and relaxing at mamak shops at night. In Taiwan, most people would still be at work at that time of the night!"

"Before I got married, I used to work for 15 to 17 hours a day, everyday. Now that I have children, my wife has forbidden me to stay so late. Now, I go to work at 9am and come home by 11pm. These hours are quite normal for the Taiwanese."

The man who invented USB pen-drive is a young modest Malaysian who can't even get into a local University but invented the most versatile, indispensable computer peripheral today. And helped his adopted country, Taiwan made $31bil in the process. The rest is history....

Understand it here!

Swine Flu infection has started to spread all over the world from Mexico and it could be fatal. The Health Ministry has advised Malaysians against travelling to Canada, Mexico and selected US states where there have been reports of swine flu infection. Its minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the United States had recorded 20 cases of influenza-like illness in New York (eight cases), California (seven), Texas (two), Kansas (two) and Ohio (one).Mexico has reported 1,149 cases with 71 deaths, out of which 18 cases were confirmed to be caused by the swine influenza A/H1N1 virus. Canada has reported four swine flu cases. In order to protect ourselves and our family, we need to understand what actually is Swine Flu. Here are some facts to learn about:

What is swine flu? Swine Influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza viruses that causes regular outbreaks in pigs. People do not normally get swine flu, but human infections can and do happen. Swine flu viruses have been reported to spread from person-to-person .

Is this swine flu virus contagious? Yes, swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is contagious and is spreading from human to human. However, at this time, it not known how easily the virus spreads between people.

What are the signs and symptoms of swine flu in people? The symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people have reported diarrhea and vomiting associated with swine flu. In the past, severe illness (pneumonia and respiratory failure) and deaths have been reported with swine flu infection in people. Like seasonal flu, swine flu may cause a worsening of underlying chronic medical conditions.

How does swine flu spread? Spread of this swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is thought to be happening in the same way that seasonal flu spreads. Flu viruses are spread mainly from person to person through coughing or sneezing of people with influenza. Sometimes people may become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose.
How can someone with the flu infect someone else?Infected people may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 7 or more days after becoming sick. That means that you may be able to pass on the flu to someone else before you know you are sick, as well as while you are sick.

What should I do to keep from getting the flu? First and most important: wash your hands. Try to stay in good general health. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food. Try not touch surfaces that may be contaminated with the flu virus. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

Are there medicines to treat swine flu? Yes. The use of oseltamivir or zanamivir for the treatment and/or prevention of infection with these swine influenza viruses. Antiviral drugs are prescription medicines (pills, liquid or an inhaler) that fight against the flu by keeping flu viruses from reproducing in your body. If you get sick, antiviral drugs can make your illness milder and make you feel better faster. They may also prevent serious flu complications. For treatment, antiviral drugs work best if started soon after getting sick (within 2 days of symptoms).

How long can an infected person spread swine flu to others? People with swine influenza virus infection should be considered potentially contagious as long as they are symptomatic and possible for up to 7 days following illness onset.. Children, especially younger children, might potentially be contagious for longer periods.

What surfaces are most likely to be sources of contamination? Germs can be spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth. Droplets from a cough or sneeze of an infected person move through the air. Germs can be spread when a person touches respiratory droplets from another person on a surface like a desk and then touches their own eyes, mouth or nose before washing their hands.
How long can viruses live outside the body? We know that some viruses and bacteria can live 2 hours or longer on surfaces like cafeteria tables, doorknobs, and desks. Frequent handwashing will help you reduce the chance of getting contamination from these common surfaces.

What can I do to protect myself from getting sick? There is no vaccine available right now to protect against swine flu. There are everyday actions that can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like influenza. Take these everyday steps to protect your health:

Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.

Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.

Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.

Try to avoid close contact with sick people.

If you get sick wtih influenza, you are advice to stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infectiong them.

What is the best way to keep from spreading the virus through coughing or sneezing? If you are sick, limit your contact with other people as much as possible. Do not go to work or school if ill. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick. Put your used tissue in the waste basket. Cover your cough or sneeze if you do not have a tissue. Then, clean your hands, and do so every time you cough or sneeze.

What is the best technique for washing my hands to avoid getting the flu? Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. Wash with soap and water. or clean with alcohol-based hand cleaner. we recommend that when you wash your hands -- with soap and warm water -- that you wash for 15 to 20 seconds. When soap and water are not available, alcohol-based disposable hand wipes or gel sanitizers may be used. You can find them in most supermarkets and drugstores. If using gel, rub your hands until the gel is dry. The gel doesn't need water to work; the alcohol in it kills the germs on your hands.

What should I do if I get sick? If you live in areas where swine influenza cases have been identified and become ill with influenza-like symptoms, including fever, body aches, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, or vomiting or diarrhea, you may want to contact their health care provider, particularly if you are worried about your symptoms.. Your health care provider will determine whether influenza testing or treatment is needed. If you are sick, you should stay home and avoid contact with other people as much as possible to keep from spreading your illness to others. If you become ill and experience any of the following warning signs, seek emergency medical care. In children emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:

Fast breathing or trouble breathing

Bluish skin color

Not drinking enough fluids

Not waking up or not interacting

Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held

Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough

Fever with a rash

In adults, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:

Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen

Sudden dizziness

Confusion

Severe or persistent vomiting

How serious is swine flu infection? Like seasonal flu, swine flu in humans can vary in severity from mild to severe. Between 2005 until January 2009, 12 human cases of swine flu were detected in the U.S. with no deaths occurring. However, swine flu infection can be serious. In September 1988, a previously healthy 32-year-old pregnant woman in Wisconsin was hospitalized for pneumonia after being infected with swine flu and died 8 days later. A swine flu outbreak in Fort Dix, New Jersey occurred in 1976 that caused more than 200 cases with serious illness in several people and one death.

Can I get swine influenza from eating or preparing pork? No. Swine influenza viruses are not spread by food. You cannot get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork products is safe.

A little community and healthcare service post. - Naked Ozone.

All major travel destinations would be in darkness for 1 hour, one after one (some will be together if they are in the same time zone).

This special scene is in fact spearheaded by WWF, as part of the Earth Hour project, to make a global call to the world to vote for our earth against the issue of global warming by switching off our lights for 1 hour at 8:30pm on 28th of March 2009, in 2 days time. 2,848 cities, towns and municipalities in 84 countries have already committed to VOTE EARTH for Earth Hour 2009, as part of the worlds first global election between Earth and global warming.

Click the video below to watch the short promotional film by Earth Hour:

So, on March 28 you can VOTE EARTH by switching off your lights for one hour.Or you can vote global warming by leaving your lights on. The results of the election are being presented at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009. The targetted votes for Earth is 1 billion, to tell world leaders that we have to take action against global warming.

For me, I would strongly suggest to go to any of the travel destinations, either the Colleseum of Rome, Opera in Sydney, Golden gate bridge in US, The Pyramid of Egypt, or the Olympic stadium of Birdnest in Beijing, and stay up till 8:30 in the evening, just to witness the historical moment of our lives, in our earth.

After the hour of darkness, you will feel some freshness and coolness around you… Mark this date: Saturday, March 28, 8:30-9:30pm. - Naked Ozone

I was driving near the UE3, TamanMiharja, Cheras when 2 Indian guys on a motorbike honked me andpointed to the passenger-side wheel. I slowed down, not stopping but they kept honking and pointing to the wheel. Finally, I stopped at theside of the road in front of the UE3 complex. The 2 guys stopped and came down from their bike. One has the "BMW" name and logo on hisblue shirt. While the other guy squatted in fron of the passenger-sidewheel (I can't see him), the "BMW" guy came to the passenger side. My car is always locked when I drive and I lowered the passenger side window about 2 inch to talk with him. Speaking in Malay, he told me my wheel has smoke and oil. I hesitated evaluating the situation, and he then bend down at the wheel and came up showing me his finger with some oil on it. He said my brake oil is leaking and cannot drive and ask me to go down out to see the wheel. Pointing to Taman Pertama which is just nearby, I told him I stay there and will go to my mechanic there for check-up. He kept insisting I don't drive as my brakes are not working and can get an accident. He kept asking me to go down and look at the wheel. I said no and I drove off. Giving this "Good Samaritan" the benefit of the doubt, I drove home very slowly incase I really cannot brake the car. 10 min later I arrived at my mechanic shop which is quite near to my house. I ask the mechanic if there is any oil in the wheel, he touched it and said yes and possible brake oil is leaking. He took it into the workshop, took out the wheel and found that there was no leak, all dry. There was some oil at the brake pad and at the back of the tyre. He took out the driver-side tyre and it was dry too. He told me the only possible answer was that someone must have poured oil into my wheel. He washed the tyres and cleaned up the oil and then I went off. I didnt tell the mechanic what had happened earlier but putting 2 and 2 together, I think I know what happened. "

"The 2 Indian guys stopped me. While one was talking with me, the other guy squatting at the wheel must have poured some oil into my wheel, making me think my car's brake oil was leaking and in panic, I might go down and check (that's why he kept asking me to go down and see). If I go out of the car to see, the following things can happen:-

One guy will drive off with my car (hoping in panic I'll leave the car keys in the car) while the other will ride off in his motorbike;

They will threaten and rob me (with or without injury), or

They will say they can repair my car very fast with no hassle and charge me a bomb.

Looking at the crime situation in KL these days, I think either one of the first 2 possibilities will happen. Thank God, I was alert and didn't panic. So for whoever drives in KL, please be careful and be alert at all times while driving. Don't be so gullible and take all "GoodSamaritan" word as true. If it happens, drive to the nearest police station or mechanic workshop. The worst thing that can happen is to buy 2 brand new tyres (if tyres are varnished) or pay to repair for the damage done to the car. Cheaper than your life or your car."

Happy reading. - Naked Ozone

It is all about 'no risk, no gain' or 'high risk, high gain', especially when you play roulette and choose the level of risk easily. It is one of the conservative ways of gamble.

Recently, there is a website, Casino.de, which I found something more interesting about online gambling. This website is to help you play casino games with confidence and proper strategy, giving you the best chance of winning. The author, Jan Balslev of 31 years old who lives in Holstebro, Denmark, has been gambling online for years so he knows more than enough about online casino gambling and to give you some proper advice on how to play the games and where to play. It shows you all the best strategies to play all sorts of games from Blackjack, Baccarat, Craps, Keno, Poker to Roulette. The most interested game to me is always Roulette.

Casino.de illustrates a different strategy of playing Roulette than I did. Instead of treat it as an investment, Casino.de treats Roulette as a game for fun with some exciting big gaining moment. I have tried its nine ways completion of a number which could give me good chances of winning big money, and very fast! This website is strongly recommended to all gamblers out there. - Naked Ozone.

Because of this, Singapore GP as attracted massive visitors to Singapore, viewer in front of T.V. and also attentions from all F1 fans, like me. It was held successfully last weekend with flood lights all over the track.

However, the result was dissappointing. We could not see the 'real' fight between the nine teams. Thanks' to the collision of one of the Renault team driver, Nelson Piguet. Before that, the qualifying session held a day before (which was also the latest ever Q session in history where it started at 10pm at night!) brought us the top 3 players of the current F1 championship: Felipe Massa, Lewis Hamilton and the defending champion of my idol, Kimi Raikonnen.

Race started well at 8pm and everything seemed to be smooth until when Fernando Alonso first pitted for his regular stop and came out, his team mate clashed. Concidentally Alonso was the only driver who has pitted before N.Piguet spinned and damaged his car (Fortunately no one got hurt).

Safety car deployed and everything changed. All other cars needed and went into pit including the top 3 front runners. Alonso easily took over the front spot after that. Again, thanks to technology advancement, Ferrari's F.Massa and Kimi had big problem with the sensor-activated stop/go indicator (Ferrari was the 'pioneer' to utilise this feature while other teams still using the manual lollipop) when Massa tore off the fuel pipe and ended up at the tail end! From hero to zero. And it has delayed his teammate as well.

The final champion was F.Alonso.

I have to admit that I'm not a fan of Alonso. I still remembered his egoistic style of celebrating his victories 2 years ago. Though I need to admit that Renault has got the speed to win in Singapore, Alonso supposed to have ruined it during his qualifying round where he spun his car and ended up 15th on the starting grid. Furthermore, in most circumstances, fast cars starting from 11th grid and below should be carrying more fuel but ironically, it was the other way round for the Renault's. Alonso in fact was the first to came into pit (just before safety car came out)!!

Don't blame me on doubting the result and N.Piguet's spun.... - Naked Ozone.

It drops on the 15th day of lunar month of August. Every year of this day, Chinese family members and friends will gather to admire the bright mid-autumn harvest moon, and eat moon cakes and pomeloes together while children will decorating their houses with lanterns and colourful candles. The culture of eating mooncake on this day, according to our ancestors' folk tale, is to commemorate an uprising in Chinnese rebel forces against the Mongol rulers of the Yuan Dynasty (1280–1368) in the 14th century. As group gatherings were banned, it was impossible to make plans for a rebellion. Thus, the Chinese rebel leader Zhu Yuanzhang, distributed thousands of moon cakes to the Chinese residents in the city before the Mid-Autumn Festival which were inserted a piece of paper in each one of them with the message: "Kill the Mongols on the 15th day of the 8th Moon". On that night the rebels successfully attacked and overthrew the government and what followed was the establishment of the Ming Dynasty. Then Mid-Autumn Festival was celebrated with moon cakes on a national level.

However, this year's Mooncake Festival was a real disaster for me! As a start, our regular yearly family dinner was cancelled a day before due to some reasons. I thought it might be good for me initially as I could still stay at home to catch my favourite Kimi Raikkonen in action (Italy Monza's F1 Grand Prix dropped on the same evening), only to know later in the evening that my Kimi disqualified from fighting in the Q3 session and ended up 14th place from the starting grid on race day! :( ;

On the day itself, my in-law family decided to have swimming pool side BBQ session at our condominium which I thought should be a good alternative to celebrate the Mooncake Festival and admire the harvest moon with my in-law's. Unfortunately, it started to RAIN just after I've put up the fire for BBQ! Where was our bright moon?

While we were still charbroiling our chicken wings in the rain, Kimi failed to score a single point in the Italiian F1 GP! :( The sky was so dark without the moon and we couldn't even lite up our colourful candles....

All in all, the worst thing happened next. Just an hour before we called it the day of Mid-Autumn Festival, my wife had a severe stomach-ache! She had pills and an injection from a 24-hour-polyclinic but the pain persisted until the next morning! We had a sleepless night and had to queue up in the morning at Sentosa Medical Centre to take a blood test, CT abdomen scan. It was until 3pm in the afternoon that she was diagnosed as having Acute Appendicite! And she has had the stomach pain for 16 hours!

Nothing we could do but to take it out by operation. While I'm writing this post, my wife is still lying on the hospital bed.....

This is what I called a disasterous Mooncake Festival of year 2008! - Naked Ozone.

On the 15th August 2008, I have posted my 100th entry in Naked Ozone dot Com, a story about the Chinese Ghost Festival. Since November 26, 2006, Naked Ozone has posted stories for various categories, such as Good Travel, Good Life, Good Money, Good Health, Good Jokes, Good Days, Good News and etc which have received great response from the world.

It was only my hobby initially to blog about my opinions to things, people and places around me. However, new supplemental blogs evolved along the way. Good Money Maker blog was created to feature free blog reviews to potential money making young blogs; while Good Builder's Diary is mainly my proffession's diary.

Then it came to a stage when I decided to have 2 dedicated travel blogs: Look!See!Look!See! Malaysia is to promote Malaysian Tourism while Travel Feeder is seriously created to provide informative travel tips and guides.

I hope my readers could enjoy any one of my blogs and give gracious comments for inspiration. Naked Ozone dot Com will sure be posting more articles and interesting stories in future. - Naked Ozone

According to Chinese tradition, 14th day of July every year mark the date whereby door of hell would be closed at midnight after the opening on the beginning of July. For these half a month of July, ghosts and spirits, including those of the deceased ancestors from hell are free to come back to the living world for a tour! During the Qingming Festival the living descendants pay homage to their ancestors and on Ghost Day, the deceased visit the living. It is considered as New Year to the ghosts from underworld!

In conjunction of the festival, 'Por Dor' celebration is held through out this period of time by Chinese coummunity to welcome ghosts with an array of foods and entertainment such as concerts and dancing. Usually 'Por Dor' celebrates for about 3 days. While the first 2 days are praying session for the chinese with burning of huge amount of joss sticks and papers, the last day is the charity dinner for whoever interested and normally auction for Feng Shui products are being conducted.

In chinese belief, during this 14 days, children, especially babies below 1 year old are not allowed to go out at night or after 7pm, as they believe these innocent groups of human might accidentally 'see' those ghost on the streets and be frightened! There is friend of mine who has the capability of seeing spirits around told me that night streets during the Chinese Ghost Festival are full of ghosts. And further more, no Chinese couple will get married during this lunar month of July. This is some information on the good Chinese day by Naked Ozone.

The opening ceremony started at 8 o'clock in the evening. This is Chinese belief on the number '8' that will bring them prosperity! The more 8 they have got, the more wealth them would be earning! Let's put aside the number 8, the opening ceremony was really fantastic. It was held at the Beijing newly completed State-of-the-art 'Bird's Nest' national stadium. The ceremony was directed by Chinese filmmaker Zhang Yimou and featured a cast of over 15,000 performers, and was dubbed beforehand as "the most spectacular Olympics Opening Ceremony ever produced".

Until midnight, the Olympic Flame was finally lighted up by the former Olympic Gymnastic 3-Gold medalist, Li-Ning, in tremendous style: he was running in the air around the top of the stadium holding the Olympic Torch until he reached the giant torch. It is hard to describe the scene by word so I've uploaded the short film here and hope you would enjoy it as much as I do.

It is because Facebook is now so popular that it is the 2nd largest social website in US after Myspace. This also created the youngest Billionaire in the world, its founder, Mr. Mark Zuckerberg.

If Bill Gates became the richest man in the world at the age of 38, Mark is only 23 when he became the 785th Billionaire in the world in 2007. Who is he? Mark was born in 1984 in a jewish-american family in US and he was a dropout student from Harvard University. Coincedentally, Bill Gates was the dropout student of Harvard as well! While Bill Gates found Microsoft at the age of 19, Mark launched Facebook when he was 20 and still a second year undergraduate og Harvard.

What's so amazing about Facebook? Facebook was his idea initially to have a platform for the university students to foster their relationship and to improve social life by creating some online log-book displaying profile, blog, album, PIM tool and later on, its subscribers extended to other colleges in US. Currently, Facebook has well over 70 Million members not only US but from the whole world. Its popularity index is 3 folds over Myspace.

Where does Mark Zuckerberg's income came from? Online Advertisement! With its huge network of members around the world, Facebook's annual income has reached over USD150Million and the value of Facebook appreciated year by year. 4 years after Facebook has been launched, in the end of year 2007, Microsoft forked out USD240 Million just to buy 1.6% stake in Facebook! Amazing is it? An idol of Mark, or everybody, now Bill has to deal business with Mark. Not only that, Mark Zuckerberg has turned away Yahoo's offer to take over Facebook for USD1 Billion! According to Mark, he would rather keep Facebook personal for the time being.

Mark Zuckerberg is the latest successful Drop-out CEO after Bill Gates. Do you still want your children to graduate from university?

WED is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action. For this year, there is a slogan for the day: Kick the Habit! Towards a Low Carbon Economy. Off course, in order to conserve the environment of our earth, we have to start changing our habit, our life style that creates emission of Carbon Dioxide, that increases the green house effect to slowly but effectively destroy our naked ozone. What are our habit that erodes our natural environment?

In our modern lifestyle, we use much of the energy in basically, everywhere! Our car, air-con, plastic bags, computers, TV, wooden furniture, smoking, everything! All these things either emit harmful gas to our environment or destroying our environment. I did posted an article regarding the use of plastic bag, which is one of the most environmental unfriendly element. If we insist not to change our habit, our ozone layer will be thinning until a stage where our Artic ice berg will melt and most part of our world will be underwater (I remember one of the movie last year screening about this but can't remember the name, Day After Tomorrow or what). Not only that, the change of climate because of CO2 emission and excessive forest logging will also lead to all those 'modern' deadly decease such ar SARS, HD1N etc which will destroy our life, one day.

So, let's celebrate today by stopping all the environmental unfriendly activities, just for 1 day.

LET'S PUT HANDS TOGETHER TO CONSERVE OUR ENVIRONMENT!

The only gainer.

AirAsia, so called one of the best low cost airline in Asia. How could they manage to make profit out of their so called 'zero' cost flight ticket? I have heard enough stories from people around me on how poor their service is, the flight delay and so on, but, this time I can tell you a true story of mine with this cheap but costly airline- AirAsia.

It happened during my way to have a nice vacation with my lovely wife in Bali recently. I bought 2 ticket plus accomodation package with AirAsia-go-holiday online. It was all right until the departure date. The departure time from LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal?) was 10:55 am. So, we forwarded to the check-in counter at 9:55am so as to make sure we check ourselve in not later than 45 minutes before the departure time. But we could not find the counter for our flight number! So, I checked with one of the officer and surprisingly, the gentlemen told me that the counter was closed 5 minutes agoand we were late!? According to their rules and regulation, as published on their information board, all passengers have to check-in to their flight 45minutes before the departure, but if I followed my Tissot's time (it should be very close to the international time), they closed the counter 1 hour before that!

So, I was furious and started argueing with the front counter officer. Surprisingly, he was so calm and nice to counteroffer us a replacement ticket for the next flight but it would be 6 hours later. And moreover, he handed us a couple of meal voucher to be spent waiting for the next flight. And finally, it was the only option we have! Well, we have no choice but to accept it.

What is the truth behind? Firstly, why do they close the check-in counter early? Secondly, why AirAsia always depart earlier than scheduled? And finally, why the front counter officers able to issue replacement tickets if truely the passenger is late for checking-in?

Alright, there is only one answer for all. It is because THEY OVERSOLD THEIR TICKETS!! AND IT HAPPENED TO ALL FLIGHT!! This is because in most happened occasion, there won't be 100% passengers turned up for the flight and this is the trick for pick hour flight. How about off peak hour flight like evening and night flight? There is another trick: FLIGHT DELAYED!! So, they can combine both flights to one if low occupancy.

Please let me know, who is the eventual winner?

I have to put up this video though it's a bit late. The celebration of 2008 new year with fireworks were displayed all over the K.L. area as you could see from the uploaded video(sorry, the video quality is quite blurry). The video was shot at the balcony of my home in Royal Domain, Sri Putramas II where I'm having the beautiful K.L. view as promised and advertised by the salesperson and also the marketing material when I bought my unit (you can review my write-up of Royal Domain here).

But it was sad to realise when I saw the construction signboard recently that there would be another 3 blocks of 30-storey-highrise condominium to be developed right in front of my condominium! So, this year fireworks celebration at K.L. might be my last chance to be able to witness from Royal Domain's balcony!

These cancer cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable size.

Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a person's lifetime.

When the person's immune system is strong the cancer cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and forming tumours.

When a person has cancer it indicates the person has multiple nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic, environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing diet and including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells in the bone marrow, gastro-intestinal tract etc, and can cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor destruction.

When the body has too much toxic burden from chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb to various kinds of infections and complications.

Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy. Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other sites.

Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the intestines become putrified and leads to more toxic buildup.

Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the body's killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

Some supplements build up the immune system (IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals, EFAs etc.) to enable the body's own killer cells to destroy cancer cells. Other supplements like vitamin E are known to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body's normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or unneeded cells.

Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit. A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior be a survivor. Anger, unforgiveness and bitterness put the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy life.

Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer cells. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply. WHAT CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

Sugar is a cancer-feeder. By cutting off sugar it cuts off one important food supply to the cancer cells. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal,Spoonful, etc are made with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute would be Manuka honey or molasses but only in very small amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in colour. Better alternative is Bragg's aminos or sea salt.

Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk, cancer cells are being starved.

Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little chicken rather than beef or pork. Meat also contains livestock antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all harmful, especially to people with cancer.

A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most vegetables including bean sprouts) and eat some raw v egetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C).

Avoid coffee, tea,ea and chocolate, which have high caffeine. Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer-fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

These friends just like japanese so much that they have tried most of the japanese restaurant in town. So, my wife suggested this eatery in 1 of the hottest new shopping mall in town, "The Garden", annexed to the wellknown Mid Valley shopping complex. Nothing fancy but it's called "Sushi Zanmai".

This sushi eatery has a very typical japanese interior design with timber doors, table, windows and partition; light colour themed with sufficient lighting brought a bit of relaxing feeling to us and did create a good appetite (maybe we were so hungry).

Nothing really special about the outlook but was the food. Open kitchen (with see-through glass partition) is the current trend and provided customer a hygienic perspective view in the first place. The circulating moving serving tray was full of all variety of sushi for who is too hungry to wait for their mian dishes.

We ordered some rice and ramen with soups and Shashimi. What really impressed us is the freshness of the filling. Umm... either it's salmon, soft shell crab, octopus or even rice, they are all very yummy, crispy, soft, and most importantly, FRESH.

And lastly and important aspect of the whole meal was either we got a reasonable bill, and yes, we got it with a 20% discount voucher for our next visit. Although she sang "Over the rainbow" everywhere but that's not all she know. She even sang a song of my favorite, "I will always love you" originally by Whitney Houston! I just couldn't imagine that she is only seven years old currently and you won't able to know just from her voice. Her voice is so big that even the Bodyguards' Kevin Costner would fall in love with her!!

More than 40,000 people, including young children from 2 blocks of school classrooms, lay dead or buried under rubble and time was running out to save the living.

According to doctors, 72 hours after the tragedy is the critical period of time when survivors could still be rescued from the rumble. As usual my brothers sister and I celebrated with our mother by having lunch at one of the famous chinese restaurant at Manjalara, Kepong. It is a very meaningful celebration as our family, although having our own family with kids, having this chance to gather together at least once a year. I have to gratefully thank Ms. Anna Javis for her idea back in 100 years ago.

In 1858, Anna Javis's mother, Anna Reeves Jarvis was the first woman in the United States to hold an official celebration of mothers, when she instituted Mothers' Work Day to raise awareness about local sanitation issues. During the Civil War, she expanded the scope of Mothers' Work Day to include sanitary conditions on both sides of the battlefield. Meanwhile, in 1872, Julia Ward Howe initiated and promoted a Mother's Day for Peace, to be held on June 2, which was celebrated the following year by women in 18 cities across America.

Then in 1905, Anna Reeves Javis passed away and her daughter, Anna Javis, took up her mother's torch. In 1907, Anna launched her campaign by handing out white carnations at her mother's church in Grafton, West Virginia. In 1908, the church acquiesced to Anna's request to hold a special Sunday service in honor of mothers - a tradition that spread the very next year to churches in 46 states. In 1909, Anna left her job and dedicated herself to a full-time letter-writing campaign, imploring politicians, clergymen and civic leaders to institute a national day for mothers.

In 1914, the U.S. Congress passed a Joint Resolution, signed by President Wilson, establishing a national Mother's Day emphasizing the role of women in their families. Ever since, Mother's Day has been celebrated by Americans on the second Sunday in May.

And now, Mother's Day is being celebrated in over 50 countris in this world.

Please read the info shared to me by a doctor. My family stopped eating instant noodles more than 5 years ago after hearing about the wax coating the noodles - the wax is not just in the Styrofoam containers but it coats the noodles. This is why the instant noodles do not stick to each other when cooking. If one were to examine the ordinary Chinese yellow noodles in the market, one will notice that, in their uncooked state the noodles are oily. This layer of oil prevents the noodles from sticking together. Wanton noodles in their uncooked state have been dusted with flour to prevent them sticking together. When the hawker cooks the noodles, notice he cooks them in hot water and then rinses them in cold water before cooking them in hot water again. This process is repeated several times before the noodles are ready to be served. The cooking and rinsing process prevents noodles from sticking together. The hawker then 'lowers the noodles in oil and sauce to prevent the noodles from sticking if they are to be served dry. Cooking instructions for spaghetti require oil or butter to be added in the water when boiling the spaghetti to prevent the pasta from sticking together. Otherwise, one gets a big clump of spaghetti! There was an SBC (now TCS) actor some years ago, who at a busy time of his career had no time to cook, resorted to eating instant noodles everyday. He got cancer later on. His doctor told him about the wax in instant noodles. The doctor told him that our body will need up to 2 days to clear the wax. There was also an SIA steward who after moving out from his mother's house into his own house, did not cook but ate instant noodles almost every meal. He had cancer, and has since died from it. Nowadays the instant noodles are referred as ' cancer noodles '.

SATAY LOVERS (BARBECUE)

If you all eat Satay, don't ever forget to eat the cucumber, because eating Satay together with carbon after barbequing can cause cancer. But we have a cure for that... Cucumber should be eaten after we eat the Satay because Satay has carcinogen (a cancer causing element) but cucumber is anti-carcinogenic. So don't forget to eat the cucumber the next time you have Satay's.

PRAWNS (SUGPO) & VIT C

DO NOT eat shrimp / prawn if you have just taken VITAMIN C pills!! This will cause you to DIE in ARSENIC (As) toxication within HOURS!!

PORK AWARENESS

Try this and see whether the pork you bought has worms. There goes with your 'Bak Kut Teh' for those who love it. Most men love to eat this so watch out before it's too late. If you pours Coke (yes, the soda) on a slab of pork, wait a little while, you will SEE WORMS crawl out of it. A message from the Health Corporation of Singapore about the bad effects of pork consumption. Pig's bodies contain MANY TOXINS, WORM and LATENT DISEASES. Although some of these infestations are harboured in other animals, modern veterinarians say that pigs are far MORE PREDISPOSED to these illnesses than other animals. This could be because PIGS like to SCAVENGE and will eat ANY kind of food, INCLUDING dead insects, worms, rotting carcasses, excreta including their own, garbage, and other pigs. INFLUENZA (flu) is one of the MOST famous illnesses which pigs share with humans. This illness is harboured in the LUNGS of pigs during the summer months and tends to affect pigs and human in the cooler months. Sausage contains bits of pigs' lungs, so those who EAT pork sausage tend to SUFFER MORE during EPIDEMICS of INFLUENZA. Pig meat contains EXCESSIVE quantities of HISTAMINE and IMIDAZOLE compounds, which can lead to ITCHING and INFLAMMATION; GROWTH HORMONE which PROMOTES INFLAMMATION and growth; sulphur containing mesenchymal mucus which leads to SWELLING and deposits of MUCUS in tendons and cartilage, resulting in ATHRITIS, RHEUMATISM, etc. Sulphur helps cause FIRM human tendons and ligaments to be replaced by the pig's soft mesenchymal tissues, and degeneration of human cartilage. Eating pork can also lead to GALLSTONES and OBESITY, probably due to its HIGH CHOLESTEROL and SATURATED FAT content. The pig is the MAIN CARRIER of the TAENIE SOLIUM WORM, which is found in its flesh. These tapeworms are found in human intestines with greater frequency in nations where pigs are eaten. This type of tapeworm can pass through the intestines and affect many other organs, and is incurable once it reaches beyond a certain stage. One in six people in the US and Canada has RICHINOSIS from eating trichina worms, which are found in pork. Many people have NO SYMPTOMS to warm them of this, and when they do, they resemble symptoms of many other illnesses. These worms are NOT noticed during meat inspections.

SHAMPOO

Cancer-causing substance in shampoos. Go home and check your shampoo. Change before it's too late... Check the ingredients listed on your shampoo bottle, and see they have a substance by the name of Sodium Laureth Sulfate, or simply SLS. This substance is found in most shampoos; manufacturers use it because it produces a lot of foam and it is cheap. BUT the fact is, SLS is used to scrub garage floors, and it is very strong!!! It is also proven that it can cause cancer in the long run, and this is no joke. Shampoos that contains SLS: Vo5, Palmolive, Paul Mitchell, L'Oreal, the new Hemp Shampoo from Body Shop etc. contain this substance. The first ingredient listed (which means it is the single most prevalent ingredient) in Clairol's Herbal Essences is Sodium Laureth Sulfate. Therefore, I called one company, and I told them their product contains a substance that will cause people to have cancer. They said, Yeah we knew about it but there is nothing we can do about it because we need that substance to produce foam. By the way Colgate toothpaste also contains the same substance to produce the 'bubbles'. They said they are going to send me some information. Research has shown that in the 1980s, the chance of getting cancer is 1 out of 8000 and now, in the 1990s, the chances of getting cancer is 1 out of 3, which is very serious. Therefore, I hope that you will take this seriously and pass this on to all the people you know, and hopefully, we can stop 'giving' ourselves cancer-causing agents.
