And so we wait.  This isn’t even Katia yet but there is definitely something frightening brewing. So here are a few photos of us cosying up waiting for this moody thing to pass on over (taken with tired hands on a phone!) I will admit, having never had a hurricane before it is somewhat exciting.

On our way home, 7 police cars and a riot-control van raced by with sirens blaring. A somewhat bittersweet end to the day, but we’re tucked away safely for now. And oh! You know how we mentioned some “exciting news”? Let’s just say that we’re getting very close to spilling the beans. But for now, it begins with an “h” and the process is about halfway through, just a little longer until it’s all officially in writing and we can share!

We are back from our Italian island adventures! Though it will be thoroughly missed, it does feel good to be back and speak English again! Pizza, pasta and ice cream will never taste the same, they’ll just never be as good as the way the Italians make them. We’ll be heading back soon enough, we thinks!

But now we have our feet back on English soil, we think Nakitt could do with a little bit of TLC. Which is what we’re going to try and do. So keep your eyes peeled for updates (fingers crossed!)

And oh, we have exciting news! We’ve been trying not to think or talk about it in case it all gets horribly jinxed and leaves us with a bitter taste of broken hopes, but we’d say it’s nearly about time to spill the beans if things look like they’re beginning to solidify, who knows?! Right now, it’s just an idea trying to be that something more. [:

So, a lot has been happening.
But I don’t have the willpower to type it all.
So I’ll just keep to the best parts.

Nathan’s job title is officially changed.
Though he was promoted at Christmas, he has been issued a new job title altogether.
He’s still their youngest team leader.

I signed my superinjunction.
Although this does not necessarily benefit me, it is the end of a horrible chapter.
Hopefully I can now plough forward and forget all the nastiness.

Nathan and Kitty are official village fair photographers.
Turns out we’re now on a quest and being commissioned by the local papers to photograph our local village fair.
Pretty excited.

We have been saving for our first house.
This may be a long way away, but the wheels are in motion.
We’ll buy our first house soon.

Kitty has been commissioned on her first ad campaign.
Lots of young faces, fun, hard work and long hours to bring a new Elonex TV ad to a UK screen near you.
Absolutely stoked.

4 years.
Although we didn’t blog about it, May 20th 2011 was our 4 year anniversary.
It was magical.

What has life been entailing for you all?

Now we live a few streets away from the park and the council have revamped it and made the paths all curvy and pretty. It has been so warm and sunny and last week it was closing in on 30 degrees which is definitely abnormal for late April – early May time. The sun goes down very late now and is only getting later by the day. Soon we’ll only have a few hours of darkness as the northern hemisphere turns into summer and the sun skims the horizon.

The other night we revisited our beloved park where we once spent so much time. And we sat in the sun at 8pm and let it warm our skin. We photographed the flowers once again and it was absolutely perfect.

We lay amongst blossom petals with giggling little cousins around us. They had blood on their legs and grass in their hair but were a reminder of that childish sense of uncaring about anything but the happiness in that moment. Nathan and I spent our time pulling them out of bushes and in a funny little way it made me think if we’d ever be like that with our own kids; a manic little bunch.

We couldn’t have asked for a better time. We hope you had beautiful Easters too wherever you are. Did the Easter Bunny deliver lots of goodies for you too?

It’s funny how a little time can bring a plan into full action. 8 months ago Nathan and I moved into our little Victorian house and as you can see from the first photo; it was pretty bare! (That photo was also taken at night so everything is a horrible yellow tone and we look jaundice!) But now it’s a proper home for us. This is our little “reading” corner pictured which we love to bits, especially with the windows open next to the chair and have the evening breeze fill the room. Thank you BST for giving us light nights once again and bringing spring. [:

So after a drive from hell to get to the shops (which involved being caught in a very long one-way system in the opposite direction and therefore included lots of swearing), we finally went on a little shopping adventure for a few “bits and pieces” for the house. We ended up with more plants than anything else really so our house resembles the Amazon but it makes everything look so much fresher. We even bough a peace lily which reminds us of “Hot Fuzz” but it’s very pretty indeed. [:

So the F1 starts this weekend, Nathan is stoked and Kitty is keen on napping. Should be nice and relaxing rest of the weekend full of hot cross buns and lazing around for once! The majority of our windows are thrown open today as the air is so still and so muggy, we’re desperately trying to ventilate the house. Oh Spring!
