Below are a few ways to setup the web presence for your podcast.

The easiest way to get your podcast off the ground:

Libsyn $5/mo

For $5 a month (and up) Libsyn will take care of all the heavy lifting. They have storage limitations, and up charge for statistics. You will need to register a domain still if you need one, and will probably end up paying for email (if you need it) unlike below. They give you an RSS feed, but I would still recommend sending it through a syndicator (like feedburner) to get more control over your feed, and some free statistics. It also takes some of the fine tuning control away from you. Probably the best solution for beginners.

Soundcloud doesn’t do much compared to Libsyn, but it’s 100% free to start, and come with some statistics (unlike Libsyn).

What we do (a little complicated, but cheap and effective with unlimited storage and full control):

For an additional fee Host Gator allows for multiple domain names on one account, which is a good solution for multiple podcasts.

If you aren’t very familiar with how to set up a website, you may want to register your domain name with your web host. This will make it much easier to set up things like email.

This week we are delighted to present you with the minds behind North Carolina’s only local comic book hero, Purge! We have Roosevelt Pitt and Mshindo Kuumba, (the creator/writer and one of the artists of the title) on to talk about the resurgence and re-release of their classic comics created in 1993 in Winston-Salem, NC. Purge was one of the pioneer comic book titles in the Black Age of Comics era, and was featured internationally on Television and numerous publications. Its first run sold over 1 million copies, and we are excited to see it relaunch! This one was a blast and the only way to do it justice is to just tell you to listen to us sit down and talk with these two absolutely awe-inspiring individuals as they take us (and YOU) on a journey that can be qualified as nothing less than utterly spiritual.

Below are a few ways to setup the web presence for your podcast.

The easiest way to get your podcast of the ground:

Libsyn $5/mo

For $5 a month (and up) Libsyn will take care of all the heavy lifting. They have storage limitations, and up charge for statistics. You will need to register a domain still if you need one, and will probably end up paying for email (if you need it) unlike below. They give you an RSS feed, but I would still recommend sending it through a syndicator (like feedburner) to get more control over your feed, and some free statistics. It also takes some of the fine tuning control away from you. Probably the best solution for beginners.

Soundcloud doesn’t do much compared to Libsyn, but it’s 100% free to start, and come with some statistics (unlike Libsyn).

What we do (a little complicated, but cheap and effective with unlimited storage and full control):

For an additional fee Host Gator allows for multiple domain names on one account, which is a good solution for multiple podcasts.

If you aren’t very familiar with how to set up a website, you may want to register your domain name with your web host. This will make it much easier to set up things like email.

Okay, so it finally happened. We at Name Redacted actually had to censor ourselves. In this episode the gang recaps their experience at Free Comic Book Day. We bring back a classic game of Fight, Talk, Marry in the theme of Horror movie antagonists.

The long awaited comedian episode finally arrives! The gang records from Greensboro this week at the home of the Brew Shaman. Special comedian guests Reid Pegram, JD Etheridge and Jonathon Capers come onto the show and talk about their experiences and ideas about comedy. A wide range of topics on comedy come up from what it’s like to bomb on stage, to comedy theory, to doing comedy in a Batman costume. This is a fun one, and we hope everyone enjoys it even half as much as we did. There will be plenty more of these coming in the future.

This is a pretty self explanatory episode, the hosts sit down with Ian Streeb and Trey Hooper for everyone to give some fun and interesting stories for the listeners. No real break down needed, enjoy everyone!

This is the first sync and play episode of Name Redacted. The crew has chosen to watch the movie “Return of the Black Knight” on Netflix… and ridicule it mercilessly. If you have Netflix and would like to watch along with the gang, you will be told when to play the movie so it will link up with the commentary. Also stick around till the end for a “1 true 3” from the Brew Shaman. You will be able to guess the truth, like the hosts usually do, for a chance at winning some awesome “Survay Says!” merch! Alexander has to leave for work and the crew sticks around to continue talking to Ian in the post show. A little bit of friction about a small feud in the local comic book scene comes up at the beginning which rounds out the comic conversation from the main bulk of the episode. Then the boys of Name Redacted ask Ian about his extensive experience with board games and it becomes a very cool and very interesting conversation. Anyone interested in seeing what is out there in terms of rad board games, you don’t want to miss this one, because there are tons of suggestions for what you should go test out!

This episode features a very special guest, the spiritual ‘nerd culture mayor’ of Greensboro, Ian Streeb. The main focus of this episode is, obviously, comic books. It is more or less and introduction to comics for those less familiar with them, which hopefully will get a few listeners interested, as well as a few more in depth and fun tie bits, including the multi-verses, story runs, new titles, favorites, AND special suggested categories for “my first time”, “Overrated/Underrated” and “Fight, Talk, Marry” sent in by Alexander’s lady friend. As well as one hell of a “1 true 3” from the special guest.

The second mid-week episode starts in a coffee shop with just Collin and Alexander, and Chris jumps in about half way through. This episode is very segment heavy, where the listeners sent in suggestions for themes for segments of the show. The segments included are fight/talk/marry, rants and raves, my first time and overrated/underrated. Next months segment episode will have many more segments so look forward to that. 

Alexander shuffles off to work and the post show begins. Everyone talks about their favorite disc gold experiences, courses, gear and stories. A much anticipated Belgian Sour hits the table. The hosts admit to liking trunk beer. Matt talks about his eclectic music tastes. More talk about beer pops up. Collin talks about light up shoes, and everyone finally gets around to their picks.

This is another beer heavy episode for the brew enthusiasts. The gang heads own to the often mentioned Stella Brews, craft beer and wine retailer. Special guest and owner of Stella sits down with Name Redacted to discuss different beers, how they are made, differences in beers from all over the world, as well as the struggles and joys of owning the shop and how it came to be. Name Redacted does their first mid-week episode! This episode is a hostful with Alexander, Collin, Chris and Jeff (also known as google). Early in the episode it is established that everyone is a bit under the weather, but the boys push on to answer tons of listener questions like boxers or briefs, stupid things they did as kids and adults, favorite Ninja Turtle, favorite story telling style, real life arch nemeses and more!

This week we introduce a new guest, an old friend from the band Corporate Fandango, Einstein gets mad he can’t be outside, John catches on fire, the new Captain America movie is speculated on, Chris enjoys Pop Tarts, Collin gets on Reddit, we discuss the zombie survival guide, and Alex stays uncharacteristically quiet.

This weeks episode is missing one of its hosts due to Collin being out of town. Chris steps up to save the day, we get a new out of town guest, Emily, and Jeff continues being our google master. This episode is very laid back and loose, we hope you enjoy the easy pace of this one. 

Alexander had the distinct pleasure of getting to interview 20 different artists and writers attending the Greensboro First Anual Comic Book City Convention! He was able to sit down with several people from all over the country, as well as a lot of local talent. Many of the titles and companies associated with his guests range from DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, Image, Diary of a Mad Scientist Garden Gnome, Archie, Return of the Dapper Men, Skyward, The Stuff of Legend, Dr. Who comics, Dark Knight Rises (the movie) and the owners of Inverse Press. After Collin leaves to do important adult type things, the post show was intended to be a follow up on the conversation about music… but Star Wars hijacked it pretty quickly.

The hosts bring on two special new guests on this episode. One being the drummer for Echo Crush – Jay king, and the other a long time friend of Alexander and Collin, the often mentioned in the podcast – Logan Hash. The band Echo Crush gets a half episode of plugs from the group. Logan talks about ripping tress out of the ground. Jeff Googkes stuff. Chris gives a new buzz word. John admits his love for the Space Jam soundtrack. Collin talks about how much cooler his dad is than him, Alex makes a lot of weird noises for no real reason.

In this episode Alex talks about an upcoming gaming expo and several special edition episodes the gang will be making. Chris presents the group with a story about a monkey mask. John offends the entire collective of the Otaku. Collin throws a lighter. And everyone Eeore’s the end of the show. This special tabletop edition of the podcast focuses heavily on the rules and inner workings of Outbreak: Undead, Vampire of the Masquerade and Dungeons and Dragons. Each of these games is explained by a panel member, and then everyone tells some personal stories about their experiences with each of these games.

After beer conversation, the topic changes to table top gaming. A few of the guests go over some of their favorite table top games and how each of them works in a short overview and explanation. It is decided that the topic of table top games will continue next episode. John gives an incredible 1 true 3. And the whole show is given a big surprise from co-host Alexander.

This is a very special episode with seven people on the broadcast with guest Jeff Sheaman’s first appearance on the show. The hosts and guests talk to Jeff about his home brewing operation, how brewing works, what makes beers different and gives everyone samples of six of his own beers. Pretty much the entire first half of this episode is a giant game of drink or drunk and praising Jeff for his work… and making fun of Chris for his ‘contribution’ to the process.

This week the issue of “Bat-Fleck” (Ben Affleck as Batman) is finally a topic after being tip toed around for weeks. There is also more talk about who the hosts and guests would like to see in certain rolls in upcoming super hero movies, namely The Justice League. A new game for the listeners is introduced. And Katie completely blows it at “1 True 3”

In this ‘hostful’ episode of Name Redacted you get to know your hosts Collin and Alexander a little better. The show is broadcast from a local coffee shop, with their friend and barista Justin popping in and out throughout the episode. There is some talk about cult TV shows, and also some pipe dream casting for super hero movies.

With co-host Collin Norris unable to make it for this episode it is up to everyone else to carry the weight. We introduce a new lady guest. The whole episode hinges on the topic of language. Katie discusses a whole lot of Russian literature and theatre. And for once, everyone stays completely sober.

On this episode everyone explains why they are late to the show. Our new guest is a wizard. Kevin has a hangover. The Fire Nation attacks. Alex talks about his junk (as usual). Everyone talks about their favorite terms for drunk, and subsequently proceed to get… well kinda drunk.
