Really, I have. About all I can seem to be continuous in right now is getting exercise. Be it going for walks, working in the garden (or farm), or just lifting some weights for to tone my arms. That I can do. Eating healthy though? Not so much. But this, this I can definitely get used to doing:

Made with garden fresh ingredients to boot!

Ingredients used:

Approximately 3 cups milk

4-6 medium sized strawberries

6-8 ripe black berries

1 tsp sugar

3 fresh mint (spearmint) leaves

Combine in blender and liquefy until ingredients are nicely blended. Absolutely delicious.

Seriously, do not mess with Moms – there is nothing in nature more scary than a mother protecting her babies.

Rukia is a dainty little stray cat who is nursing this adorable litter of two week old kittens. Now, she normally weighs in an 8lbs, but despite how much I’ve been feeding her, I’m figuring she weighs in at 7lbs now because she’s nursing. So 7lb kitty cat versus a wild Jack rabbit – you’d probably think the rabbit is gonna win or at least escape right?

Let me disabuse you of that notion:

This is what I came home to see this morning.

And any doubt I had that it was Rukia was put to rest seeing the little splatters of blood on her chest. And yes, she was completely unharmed and looking insufferably smug.

The dirt by the door, which I failed to sweep after three days of steady wind, shows that the rabbit tried to get away. There are all kinds of tracks where the rabbit seemingly tried to gain traction to flee, but to no avail.

My guess is, the rabbit got too close to where Rukia has her babies so she eliminated it. That’s the only thing I can think of because Rukia has never gone after rabbits before, that I’ve seen at least. So protective mama!kitty trumps rabbit bigger than she is.

Yeah, she was violent though, wasn’t she? I can’t even find the head. And there is no way she ate the skull of a rabbit…so now I half expect to find a sign somewhere in the yard that reads “trespassers beware” with a rabbit skull (and maybe squirrel and gopher skulls too?) stuck on it. So, lovely mess to clean up when I got home. But hey! One less critter digging in my garden.

Although, to be honest, I am now keeping an eye on this kitty. The cat from Pet Sematary has nothing on her.

Now, I’ve known where they were (in the storage shed) but I hadn’t actually seen them or gone near them yet for fear Rukia would move them. She may be a lot tamer now, but Rukia is still a stray at heart and gets super jittery at times.

There are three of them, a black and tan one, an orange one, and a white one with some black and tan. They’re so cute and just a couple days shy of two weeks. I’ll need to start looking for homes for them soon.

I really wanna keep the white one. It’s got six digits on both front paws (an extra little deformed claw on the side) and five digits on both back paws. Kitty has an extra 4 digits! Kind of hard to see in the photos though:

The kitten looks to be in good health otherwise – and it’s certainly the most vocal/fussy of the trio to boot! I don’t think Denali will like it if I get another kitten though. But I think she’s gonna have to just suck it up, because I really want to keep that kitten. I’ve always wanted a polydactyly cat, and a Janus cat too, so I really don’t think I can give this kitty up.

Copyright © 2013 Joana. Visit the original article at http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/2013/impressively-productive-day/.

Ever since I lost my job I’ve been finding myself becoming lazier and lazier by the day. I stay up later than what I used to – because hey! I don’t gotta go to work in the morning! – so I end up getting up later in the morning as well. I have also developed the bad tendency to put things off. My reasoning? Oh, I’ll do it late, it’s not like I’m going anywhere later/tomorrow.

Needless to say, aside from certain chores, the house has gotten pretty messy. And the yard doesn’t even bear mentioning.

But today, oh today I got so much done it was crazy.

The house got picked up big time. Walls washed because it had been too long since they got a good cleaning and the curtains were taken down and cleaned. Refrigerator was cleaned out, dishes that had started getting stacked up got washed, counters scrubbed down, and even the stove and oven got a thorough cleaning. Then came vacuuming, sweeping, and just general tidying up. The only thing I didn’t touch was the bathroom, because strangely enough, I kept up with that so it didn’t need much besides putting away stuff left out on the counter. :???:

But aside from cleaning like crazy, I got to work on quite a few projects for my store. I just need to take some pictures and write up the product descriptions. Hopefully I can get some new items added in the next couple of days. I also finished up the remaining orders I had and will be getting those delivered this Thursday.

I was just thinking that I wanted to do something with my nails, preferably something that left half of my nails clear. Eventually I decided I wanted to use blue in the design and give the purple and greens a bit of a break. This was the result:

<img src="http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/whiteonblueswirls01-150x150.jpg" alt="" title="nail art: silvery white swirls on blue tips" width="150" height="150" size-thumbnail wp-image-3825" /> <img src="http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/whiteonblueswirls02-150x150.jpg" alt="" title="nail art: silvery white swirls on blue tips" width="150" height="150" size-thumbnail wp-image-3826" /> <img src="http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/whiteonblueswirls03-150x150.jpg" alt="" title="nail art: silvery white swirls on blue tips" width="150" height="150" size-thumbnail wp-image-3827" />

Honestly, I hadn’t really realized how long my nails had gotten until I painted them this way! My nail tips are blue (Midnight Blue from Sinful Colors). I traced the bottom edge of the blue-tips in white and drew a small swirl going up in one direction and then down in the opposite direction using a nail art pen (Sally Hansen in Pearly White). I then traced the white lines with silver glitter nail polish (Beware from Pure Ice). Finally, I applied a couple of coats of a clear top coat to seal in color and protect the design (Quick Dry Top Coat from Revlon).

So now, when I go to interviews I no longer have chipped nails! I tried to keep the design fairly simple but classy none the less for this exact reason. I’d rather employers pay attention to me and my qualifications and not particularly how I dress, although I know that’s wishful thinking. Still, I’d rather present a nice polished look and not come off as someone who spends too much time in a salon, if you catch my drift. So nice, but understated. Did I succeed?

Oops. Well, even though I loved the design I had on my nails previously it got pretty chipped and messed up the other day when I was helping my mom get the battery out of her truck (battery posts were very corroded, all in all, not fun prying that sucker out) and needless to say the already chipping polish I had on was toast. I ended up repainting my nails with a pretty simple design last night. These have a plain purple base (Boomerang from L.A. Colors) with white stripes. The middle fingers on each hand have a flower drawn on them and outlined in black. The left hand features a dandelion with fluff floating down and the right hand has a tulip with a petal falling off.

<img src="http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/stripesflowers01-150x150.jpg" alt="" title="stripesflowers01" width="150" height="150" size-thumbnail wp-image-3818" /> <img src="http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/stripesflowers02-150x150.jpg" alt="" title="stripesflowers02" width="150" height="150" size-thumbnail wp-image-3819" /> <img src="http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/stripesflowers03-150x150.jpg" alt="" title="stripesflowers03" width="150" height="150" size-thumbnail wp-image-3820" /> <img src="http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/wp-content/uploads/2013/02/stripesflowers04-150x150.jpg" alt="" title="stripesflowers04" width="150" height="150" size-thumbnail wp-image-3821" />

Not the fanciest but still a fun look. And hey! At least I don’t have chipped and cracking polish on my nails when I go to turn in my resume in person to a couple of places tomorrow!

Almost to the big 3-0. Now that’s a scary thought. No drinks or dinner out for me this year, or at least not today. My birthday gift to myself….a trip to the dentist for a couple of fillings and getting my wisdom teeth extracted.

Oh that was fun. So no hot drinks, alcohol, spicy food, drinking through straws, or hard foods for me today. Strictly liquid diet. But hey, the pain meds I got (Vicodin) make everything kind of good. Oh boy do those things work really well. I can see why folks get addicted to them!

On my to the dentist’s office, I heard Shannon, a dj for the local rock station Rocket 99.5FM, do his daily prize giveaway called Shannon’s Sack Lunch. The prize this week is really awesome, and even though I didn’t expect to even get through (just because the prize was that awesome) I gave it a try…..and ended up lucky caller number nine!

Usually the sack lunch prize is for Wienerschnitzel, which is cool, but that’s nothing compared to this:

Surrender the Fall’s album “Burn in the Spotlight”

$10 gift certificate to Caliche’s

gift certificate for a Cake Pop Bouguet from the Green Door Bake Shop

and a gift certificate for the Las Cruces Taproom and Zeffiro Pizza

Ah yeah, now that is an awesome B-day gift.

I closed yesterday evening, and even though the branch manager had decided to fire me then, he ordered nothing to be said to me until today. So I came in at my usual time, drove all the way to ‘Cruces just to be fired and sent packing.

And the reason, the little petty excuse he finally found to fire me? I took a check for $18 that was dated for January 2012 when we’re 2013 that bounced because it was stale-dated. Okay, you could kinda understand the reprimand there….not a termination. Except, hold up wait a minute. I took that check back in January, when, you know, as a courtesy we were taking checks dated January 2012 instead of 2013 for the entire month because people always take a little time adjusting to the new year and writing the correct year on checks.

Truth was, the branch manager just wanted me gone. Last time he was acting as temporary branch manager at our branch he was gung-ho about getting rid of certain people and I was one of the ones he didn’t like then, but not one of the two he really had in for. He was eventually sent to another branch because of the friction he cause, but not before the aforementioned two employees were fired. Then he got the branch manager position permanently and he’s had it in for me since the get go. Petty write ups when he can, threw me on 90 day probation for supposedly talking down to him when he was the one who talked snidely to me. Then spiteful little punishments. Like mandatory cleaning the parking lot and atms every morning even though those are jobs that the tellers rotate, they become only my jobs. Do it or a write up. So what if only part timers work the weekends and you’re a full timer, work Saturdays or it’s a write up. If we need coverage in T or C you go or it’s a write up.

I might have been fired today, but the truth is, I was ready to walk a long time ago. The other people I worked with though made it fun and for them I am thankful. I could never have kept my sanity without them.

It’s called Water Marbling, and I have to admit, it is easier and much more fun than I initially thought it would be. The first attempt was done with red and black and came out….okay. Some nails just didn’t look right, but others were gorgeous. Well, when I tried again with Easter colors I had much better results. Except, well, the pastel pink got on my nerves really fast and I only left it on for a week before I had to take it off.

This is my third attempt at water marbling and the results were just plain awesome:

For this look I used Mint Apple (SinfulColors), Boomerang (L.A. Colors), and Black (L.A. Colors). I then applied a couple of coats of Revlon’s Quick Dry Top Coat to protect the color.

Copyright © 2013 Joana. Visit the original article at http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/2012/halloween-hospitals-and-food/.

This Halloween was a memorable one, to say the least. Yesterday I didn’t get home until after 9pm, and after gathering up some things for the next day, putting up stuff, showering, and then eating, I didn’t hit the sack until around 1am. And no, it wasn’t because I was having a blast somewhere either. My grandfather actually fell yesterday while inspecting the fields (this is why he has people who are supposed to do this for him, but does he listen? Nooo) and my mother called to tell me he was in the ER. This happened late in the afternoon, so immediately after work I headed over to the hospital. Turns out he broke his leg, specifically his right femur near his knee joint.

Grandpa was admitted to the hospital overnight and I stayed with him for as long as possible, but I ended up having to go home to retrieve his medications so the doctors would know exactly what he was on and being treated for. Due to how late it was it was determined that he would need surgery for the break the following day. Since he spent all evening down in the ER before being admitted he didn’t get dinner. Big no-no for a diabetic. Mom and Grandpa argued with me that he would have surgery first thing in the morning. But, as expected, because he’s diabetic he was given breakfast in the morning while they consulted with his primary care physician, then he fasted that afternoon (today) and went in for surgery at 4pm.

Because of my grandfather’s age (he’s 80! ) after he received some different medications after his surgery and required an additional two hours of monitoring after his surgery. So he spent about 3hrs in recovery this evening. Then they only allowed one of us to visit with him for a little while. So I ended up leaving the hospital without seeing Grandpa since I thought Mom should be the one to go in and visit with him. He’s my Grandpa, but he’s her dad you know. According to her text, she just barely got in to see him a little after 8pm. No word yet on a possible release date for him yet. The surgery was a success though! They had to insert a pin in his leg and one in his spine, hence the longer observation I think. Although, I am a bit alarmed hearing about his spine.

Yesterday wasn’t all scary-slash-bad news though. We had a potluck at work for Halloween (and a going away party for a coworker who was leaving us ) Amongst all the yummy food stuff there were these adorable skull cupcakes – they tasted as awesome as they look:

We got to come in costume, with the theme being comic book heroes and villains. Naturally, when we were picking who we would come as there were a lot of Justice League, Avengers, and X-Men claims. In the end though, a lot of people didn’t come dressed up. Initially, I wanted to be Harley Quinn….but I didn’t have time to make a costume and while googling images of Raven I saw The Crow in search results and BAM! I knew who I was coming as. Since we work at a financial institution we weren’t allowed to wear masks (except for the photo) and we couldn’t paint our faces entirely. So I substituted the white face paint with my regular foundation, lightened a couple of shades with baby powder, then did rest as normal.

The real reason I wanted to do this costume? Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE The Crow. Comics are awesome, and Brandon Lee’s portrayal is just WOW, but it was also a costume I didn’t have to go out and buy. It was the end of the month and I spent most of what I had left on the food needed for my dish for the potluck and gas, no money for an outfit I’d wear once a year! Everything I needed for The Crow though, I had at home. Black boots? Check. Black pants and blouse? Check. Makeup? Check. The only thing I bought was more black electrical tape (since I wouldn’t have had enough) to wrap my wrists up, which I got from the dollar store. Costume’s total cost: $1.25. Can’t beat that!

Ironically, I forgot I was still dressed up when I was at the hospital. So all night long when orderlies, doctors and nurses kept startling when they saw me or taking double-takes I couldn’t fathom what their problem was. Until I went home and realized I was still dressed up! At least my Grandfather got a kick out of it.

Only befitting that I return to regular blogging in the month of my favorite holiday and with a whimsical post then!

All October long I’ve been painting my nails in Halloween colors. For the first week of October/last week of September they were just solid orange with black tips. For the second week of October I left them mostly clear and tipped them in orange with a thin black stripe between the clear and orange and the finger next to the pinkie on both hands had a jack-o-lantern face. But for the last stretch of Halloween I really wanted to go all. Initially all month long my nails were going to be done in a candy corn fashion with the thumbs and middle fingers being jack-o-lanterns, but since my yellow nail polish was dried out I nixed that idea. Instead I decided to try my hand at a variety of styles. Naturally my left hand has the more detailed stuff and just looks better, not surprising since I am right-handed, but even the right hand came out pretty good this time.

Left hand, starting with thumb: black with white skeleton; green with black graveyard silhouette of a tree, crescent moon, and tombstone; jack o lantern; Frankenstein; monster fangs.

Right hand, starting with thumb: Jack Skellington; purple background with black bat; red glowing eyes in the dark; eyeball; and gray tombstone with green grass at base and has RIP and a cross on it.

Copyright © 2013 Joana. Visit the original article at http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/2012/that-hulabaloo-is-over/.

So, I am now just two years away from the big 3-0. I feel old, like so much of my life has just vanished before my eyes, when I think about it that way. But at the same time, I don’t actually feel old. And although I’m not where I would have liked to be in my life, I’m not particularly upset over it. Oh sure, things could be better. They could also be worse too.

So my birthday has come and gone as has Valentine’s Day and am I ever so glad about that. Really, I am. I like nice floral arrangements about as much as any other gal out there. Well, maybe a little less, but getting showered with them every February (and chocolates too) gets old. Seriously, my birthday is February 12 and two days later is Valentine’s and all throughout my life folks have believed that getting me Valentine’s themed stuff for my birthday or combining the two holidays together is a good when it comes to gifts for my birthday.

I got a couple of boxes of assorted chocolates (both big and small), and five different bouquets for my birthday. Not including other V-day stuff like teddy bears, things decorated in hearts, and so on and so forth.

I personally liked the dark red Dahlia bouquet I got the best, the roses and carnation ones were…not original since I see stuff like that every year. The Dahlia one though was new and very pretty.

I figured hey, as a PT-timer I was working every single day from early morning until afternoon anyway. Why not move up to fulltime, work a few extra hours in the week, get the weekend off, get paid holidays, sick time, vacation time, and benefits to boot?

Today was my first day as a full-timer and so far not so bad. It sucks that I don’t get home until after 6pm on account of the lengthy commute and the “rush-hour” traffic. But, otherwise it wasn’t so bad. I gotta tell you, I’m liking the fact that I got holiday pay for MLK day, otherwise, as a part-timer, I’d have been out some hours this week since it was a federal holiday and we were closed. Instead I get paid anyway. Not to mention I get more hours now. This paycheck (and future ones!) are looking to be much better now. Not that I’m gonna splurge and get me a bb playbook, iPad, iPhone, or anything like that. I’m thinking the extra money will wisely be put to use fixing up Pyro and paying off the last of my debts.

Yes, the blessings really are that mixed. First, some Good News: I don’t have to feel bad about giving my grandfather something so impersonal and “last minute” like calvin klein mens underwear or socks for Christmas! I’ve already got his gift and had it bought months ago!

Bad News: The same cannot be said about my Mother. What the hell am I supposed to get this woman that she’ll like and actually use? Not to mention, isn’t a completely impersonal gift to boot. Why must she always be so difficult?

Good News: I got extra hours this week at work due to opening one day, early morning meetings, and helping to cover at the El Paso branch.

Bad News: Since we had such a wonderful snow storm blow in and interstate and a lots highways were closed due to bad conditions, I got yesterday off. No point in me coming in to work if the one road that was still open got closed while I was at work, my boss said. So…I’m not gonna get extra hours this week after all, but I should break even.

Good News: I had my one year evaluation on Monday and I’m getting a raise! It’s only 2% mind you, so it’s probably not even noticeable, but hey, I got a raise!

Bad News: I’ve got repairs to make to Pyro now after that jerk ran me off the road so I need all the extra money I can get.

Copyright © 2013 Joana. I pulled something in my lower back and right leg Thursday before last while I was cleaning out the storage shed. I tripped while carrying a box (good thing it was a box of holiday trinkets and not the rusted band saw blades I’d seen earlier) and twisted around trying to keep from falling and crushing them. I succeeded, but managed to pull something in the process.

For the first few days there was no comfortable position for me to sleep. I found a spot in my computer chair that was halfway decent and got maybe two hours sleep that night and three the next. Needless to say, I missed work on Saturday that week.

My back is feeling much better now, but my leg is still acting up. Though not swelling up like crazy like it was. It especially gives me trouble when I’m sitting for too long, hence why I’m not online much this past week, or standing for too long. Or when I’m getting in/out of my car which has never seemed that low to me until now. Long drives bug it too. Lots of laying down for me with my leg elevated. I’ve been popping ibuprofen like crazy too and smothering my leg in Icy Hot, so needless to say I haven’t donated plasma recently either.

So for those who have emailed me and tried to contact me online, and wondered where I am, I do apologize for not being around much here lately. I am feeling much better though, so I will attempt to start getting back to folks.

Copyright © 2013 Joana. Visit the original article at http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/2011/looking-for-a-ft-position/.

I finally got a reasonable payment plan set up with Discover card recently, their collection agency leaves quite a bit to be desired. I mean, here I was willing to make payments and would have started over a month ago, and I had fools trying to get me to agree to outrageous down payments for a smaller monthly payment that was still out of my reach, or humongous large payments knowing full well I could never make them and would default ASAP. Then I was instructed to send in information that would qualify me for their “limited means” program so I would be allowed smaller payments. They conveniently never received the stuff no matter how many times it was faxed successfully from home, work, and Kinkos. This was all thanks to two different people handling my account. Meanwhile they kept telling me that I didn’t have to file a response to court after they had me served. Good thing I didn’t listen, because if I hadn’t, they would have had the right to garnish wages or other unpleasent things right off the bat.

Then one day, when both the a-holes were out I got to speak with one person who was like “this is ridiculous, we could have gotten this settled long ago” and got me set up on a payment plan that I can make.

I’m almost debt free!

Still though, even if I can make the payments, until I get the other credit card paid off (4 more payments to go there!) things will be tight. I’d really like to move up to a full time position at work, but the only FT spots that have opened up are at the T or C branch. Not to mention their for positions I sincerely doubt I’d get. Even looking in the classifieds for a FT spot, or at least another PT job that I swing with my hours has yielded little results. Lots of spots for things like construction workers, CDL drivers, live-in nurses, or Dental Jobs – things that require training or degrees that I don’t have. Bah! I guess I could always apply at Sitel….but after working at DialAmerica and putting up with their shit, I’m not really inclined to give a telemarketing job another shot.

This is good, but since I know there is still much to be fixed on him, I’m beginning to seriously consider the fact that it may just soon be time to trade Pyro in. Looking at the just the newer models of Dodge Neons is enough to give me car envy, never mind the fact that there are other cars with features that make me drool to boot. Mind you, most of the features I wouldn’t get because I couldn’t afford them since they add to the final tag price of a car, but… do you really need some of these features given some of the nice apps out there (like mobile gps ones for example)?

Sad thing is, right now, trying to finish digging myself out of debt as I am, and unable to move up to a full-time position (no positions available at work) there is no way I could afford to buy a new car. Especially since I’d need a load and I sure as hell don’t want another large monthly bill. Pyro, please last a little longer.

Visit the original article at http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/2011/you-damn-car/.

Argh! I swear, if it’s not one thing wrong with this damn car it’s another. This morning, on a day when we had an early morning meeting before work, my car would not start. Completely dead, wouldn’t even crank. And it would not take a jump either. I got a ride to and from work, so I was only a little late to work. Missed the 8:15am meeting though, but made it to work a little after 9am, so it wasn’t too bad.

But of all the days to be absent – I was named employee of the month! Now that, right there is sheer irony.

Came home, changed, then unhooked the battery of the car and took it up to AutoZone, hoping like hell that was the problem. They tested the battery, and sure enough, it was dead as a doornail. But, after putting in the new battery the car still wouldn’t start.

One of the mechanics that lives nearby and works on the farm equipment primarily, but also does auto repairs, is going to stop by and take a look at it tomorrow morning. My grandfather lent me his truck and he promised to wait there for the guy so I could get to work.

Here’s hoping that he can find out what’s wrong with it, he can fix it, and it won’t cost too much either.

All of this on top of the fact that I have the whole mess with Discover card to worry about and I just got Pyro new tires recently too. When it rains it pours.

Her purse was stolen Saturday and it’s been a real headache to find out what was in her purse, contacting everyone that needs to be contacted and informed, and just generally worrying over it.

We were really hoping that, despite what she knew to be true, she had just gone off and left it at work. However, after signing into her accounts online, we discovered that whoever had stolen her purse had already made some purchases using her cards.

A police report has been filed, all of her debit and credit cards have been canceled, and any people that needed to be informed (such as the client who had just paid her and whose uncashed check was still in said purse) as well.

It’s not been fun, and on Monday, my mother’s birthday no less, she has to go to her individual banks and get things squared away. The bastards made a bunch of fraudulent purchases with her debit cards already before they got cancelled, and it looks like they tried to make some more afterwards too. Hopefully those shitheads get what’s coming to them.

Copyright © 2013 Joana. Visit the original article at http://nanashi-inc.net/weblog/2011/how-long-will-that-last/.

There appears to be some very positive upsides to donating plasma regularly, and I’m not just talking about the monetary rewards either.

Attention Readers of the male persuasion: if you get squicked out hearing about, reading about, or being forced to talk about women and their health issues, you may want to move on to the next post in my blog.

That said, donating plasma has had three very noticeable side-affects on me. Because, in order to successfully donate plasma without your blood clotting horribly, or passing out, you need to be well-hydrated and you should have eaten recently, I have amended my diet quite a bit. I drink a lot of water every day now, especially the day before, the day of, and the day after I donate plasma. I’m also drinking more gatorade too because it replenishes the vitamins I’ve lost better then plain water does. On top of that, I eat more regularly too. When I donate, if I haven’t eaten enough beforehand, afterwards I’m left feeling faint and woozy. So now, on days I donated I always make sure to eat breakfast before I get to work, I’ll take something with me or pick something up on the way and take little breaks at work and munch on some food. Then, after I get out, if I took a dish to eat I finish what’s left or I grab something else to eat that I might have in the car (fruit, chips, jerky) or even a sub from Subway. Then I go and donate. When I get home I eat an early (for me) dinner. In short, I am eating the minimum amount of meals you should eat, at least, on those days. The side affect? My body has gotten used to not skipping meals and now when I try to skip a meal, it rebels. I’ve taken to eating breakfast regularly once again.

All of this has led to three changes in my health that I can definitely get behind. First of all, I’ve got a lot more energy. I’m not feeling worn out and tired all them anymore, and it really shows in my complexion as well. Secondly, I’ve lost weight. Eating regularly has resulted in my metabolism speeding up and I’ve lost a good ten pounds as a result, without trying. The weight loss will probably stay where it is now, but still, it’s nice knowing my body is working at full-tilt again. And lastly, and probably most importantly to me, my menstrual cycle has become more regular. Up until recently it’s been a real pain to keep track of. It came infrequently, lasted for way longer than usual, went away briefly, returned way too soon, went away just as quick, then came back again. The flow also wasn’t consistent either. Sometimes heavy, sometimes barely there. And when it was heavy, boy was was it heavy. We’re talking wearing those overnight pads during the day so that I knew I wouldn’t overflow, because even a super-tampon and regular pad combined weren’t enough to ensure I’d make it more then an hour without an accident. And at work I cannot keep running to the bathroom every forty-five minuets. I seriously felt like I was wearing an adult diaper, hell they sounded like a good idea for a while there. It got that crazy. But now, with the diet changes, plus the normal exercise I get, my period is starting to work itself out. Already it’s getting set on a schedule, might be a few days off here and there now, but I can tell when I’m going to start again. The cycle also is lasting the normal time it should and is no longer exceedingly long or freakishly short.

Really, it’s kinda freaky how just eating regularly (no more skipped meals or tiny little snacks here and there) drinking things other than soda and coffee, can make such drastic changes in your body.

Yes, yes, I take horrible care of myself if I’m amazed by these changes.
