My grandson and I both have colds and coughs, so we are taking it easy today.  Making these paper candy canes was a perfect choice for a low-key activity.  Check out the directions from Skip To My Lou. Be sure to browse through the other cute ideas there.

There’s Mr. Potato Head for using the thumb and index finger to place parts. For toddlers there’s pop-up toys that involve pushing, sliding, clicking, and turning buttons or knobs. Pre-schoolers like my grandson love stickers and Scotch tape and cutting paper.  A box of those supplies would be great, inexpensive fun.  Even a piggy bank and some pennies can help small muscle development.
