The charming illustrations, engaging dialogue, cool sound effects, and fun activities on each page are just right for the 2-4 age group. My grandson especially liked ‘driving’ the tractor over hill and dale to the barn, and ‘riding’ the horse along the trail. And after ‘picking’ the apples off the tree, he wanted to go pick some apples himself. My personal favorite was helping Bizzy Bear corral the hopping sheep. And my darling grandson just loved to open the gate and let them all out again!

If you want more of Bizzy Bear, check out the original board books here.

Bizzy Bear on the Farm is available in the iTunes store for $3.99.

*disclaimer: I received a copy from the developer in order to review the app.

Do you have some Christmas gifts or birthday presents to choose? It’s the perfect time to select games that do double duty by supporting fine motor skills without being obvious.

There’s Mr. Potato Head for using the thumb and index finger to place parts. For toddlers there’s pop-up toys that involve pushing, sliding, clicking, and turning buttons or knobs. Pre-schoolers like my grandson love stickers and Scotch tape and cutting paper. A box of those supplies would be great, inexpensive fun. Even a piggy bank and some pennies can help small muscle development.

My Grandson’s Most Recent Creation

Once again, Lyn’s Lines has some great suggestions for developing fine motor skills in this post. Thanks for the inspiration, Lyn.
