			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Seems like lately things have been picking up.  More calls, more opportunities and more chances to find people work.  Of course, this is all great.  The problem appears to be with the underlying fear of commitment and managing expectations.  When a client used to book a freelancer in 6 months increments, it&#8217;s now 3 months and a hope they can get approval to extend.  A week long booking is condensed into 2 days and the person must light the world on fire to be considered a good placement.  There are no second chances, there are no excuses for being human, only stellar skills are acceptable and there is little client commitment to plan your life around. And hourly rates are very tight.</p>
<p>All this being said, we want to state our commitment to you during this time of economic uncertainty. We are working diligently to vet all opportunities, keep our people busy-as-bees and our clients coming back to the hive.</p>

<p>The simple process of sending out a periodical e-mail newsletter to a list of subscribers has been around for a long time. It&#8217;s also an easy way to gauge how many people are interested in your product.</p>
<p>But with the current flood of e-mails in people&#8217;s inboxes, the newsletter has the potential to become lost in the pile of spam. The incoming newsletter might even get flagged as spam.</p>
<p>We also know that people don&#8217;t read, they scan.</p>
<p>However, with today&#8217;s popular technologies such as RSS feeds and Blogroll services, people can stay updated about your product almost instantly.</p>
<p>So do newsletters still play an important role in today&#8217;s interweb, or has it become an obsolete marketing tool?</p>

<p>Why do you continually design software that cannot be used on a Mac?Â  Have you looked around?Â  We all have them. Seinfeld used one, House has one and if Humphrey Bogart had a computer it would have been a Mac.Â  They are easier, they are funner, they would overtake Microsoft in a heartbeat if businesses could get the software they needed to do their jobs.Â  I don&#8217;t blame Apple for this.Â  I blame corporations for being ignorant to the fact that we are not going away.Â  Take for instance my bank Wachovia who draws me in like a bee to honey on a wonderful program called Wachovia Connect. We could pay all our talent through using their on-line portal and they&#8217;d receive their money a day later as a direct deposit.Â  I was drooling. I was ready to sign on the dotted line.Â  Then I get the email from Wachovia:</p>
<p><em>&#8220;Good Afternoon ,<br />
Sorry I sent the last e-mail too fast !<br />
You must have a PC &#8211; MAC are not compatible with ACH service<br />
I am sorry&#8221;</em></p>
<p>followed by a Wachovia branded seal with a big <strong>#1</strong> on it followed by &#8220;Customer Satisfaction 8 Years in a Row!&#8221;</p>
<p>So, I am a customer and I am NOT satisfied.</p>
<p>Humpf.</p>
