Friends,

Nice to see you all, i am happy to know that many of you are interested to read out my blog and is more eager know whats happening with the feat.

In simple, Nothing more special than a witness of third class attitude shown by the reputed media like manorama, NDTV etc, who don't care to share the truth to public, rather do publish any rubbish things what advertisers emphasis.. But this is not same with all media, but unfortunately with some reputed/highly rated media... on the other had many people still believes its a crap and lets not waste time to know on how to achieve it.

Regarding my last post, i had many e-mail asking me why i emphasis on petrol and diesel
i will explain it once again based on the alternative fuel

1) Battery/Solar etc is advantageous but economically not viable due to large requirement of space and electricity being an multi utility product. if u can extract energy from solar, u can used it for your basic needs...

2) But many were opposing me when i said hydrogen (from water) is not an ideal one for india??, yup i still say it isn't . Even though many mailed me that water about 97% is still available after entire utilization by all; i don't say it is not available. remembering an old poem "water water everywhere, not a little drop to drink", Infact the writer of that poem/song couldn't fill his thirst when he was in centre of sea, may be coz of salty taste!. like that water has hydrogen content but to convert seawater we need to undergo some stages of operation

a) Convert sea water to raw water using ion exchange and Reverse osmosis principle, else the machines/storage medium may get corroded.

b) after that we need to have a catalyst for converting for getting hydrogen from water

I) Nickel - May be cheap ( not so) but the bye-product formed after the process is nickel oxide, which is a Poisson. --- OUT

II) Titanium - Very Very Expensive to run a car like Innova, u need 100-200 kg of Titanium, lol its worth 30 -40 Nano cars ;) _ IN or OUT, You guys decide and Tell

c) luckily none want to stress on jetropa, ethanol and cowdung :)

While tress-passing through web, i came to know through rediff.com that aircrafts are going to run in used/cooked vegetable oils, Its good and Innovative,, Hats off to the Inventor, But how viable??. You cant have a collection agent to collect all used vegetable oils from homes and apartments, even hotel. if so whether it can fulfill all airlines need??.

simple, if the demand for that comes more, the manufactures of vegetable oils will directly supply to another company who will cooked it for name sake and supply to aircraft for better rates, what about poor people like us???,, Better forget vegetable oils for our cooking coz either it may be priced high or not available in the near future :)

In general many R&D are working out for fuel conservation as the first law of thermodynamics says " Energy can neither be created nor destroyed, but can transform from one state to another". But some other don't care about that, why??? simple... we have nuclear power, isotrops x,y,z etc. etc. reusable and recyclable, but what about the harmful effects???, may be in furture's faith??? cant comment though.

I thank website like crazy engineers, motorbeam, automotive India, carwale etc, coz they had the thirst to know how to achieve it and they have been interacting well and sharing their knowledge and experience.

Now let me come to my point on fuel conservation by driving skill

I CAN ACHIEVE BETTER MILEAGE IN ANY CAR, don't mistake its only with tata manza,

i am sharing you a pic of my recently bought used benz car's DIS

showing what it is delivering

A 2200 CC, 1800 kg Triptonic benz can even deliver 22.22 kmpl, then why not other cars like maruti, hyundai, toyota honda??, even i know this will be shocking Mercedes people as they always say their car delivers b/w 8-12 kmpl. not even heard telling 15 or 20 kmpl.

I have no issues with reputed media, but i felt shame on them coz they were sharing same news with same typo graphical error, no one bothered to know when was the test conducted and what is the actual kilometer run, even though they had limca certificate copy send by me, then repeatedly specified 72.3 kmpl and May 2011 where as the actual is 73.2 kmpl and May 2010. They never showed the courtesy to share the impact or the actual motivation behind the news rather than promoting the manufacturers

There is a proverb " Every Dog has a day" , Of course it has been my days for the past 2 days.

what i did : Bought a Manza car, while driving tested its mileage, found its more than the certified (21.2 by A.R.A.I ), called Tata motors, call magazine people and tested many times, got 27, 31, 39, 24, 40.26 kmpl respectively, Once the magazine plotted my best of 40.26 kmpl to 39 kmpl (rs. 1/ km caption as the diesel price during that time was Rs.39/- ),

The same has been reported to limca book of records, they have send me the guidelines and we did the test as per their norms, luckily or unluckily that day the another test conducted for the same yield 46.329 kmpl which i have submitted to limca book of records and they certified it after an year :)

during that time petrol price was around 50 and diesel was around 39, i conducted an individual press meet in palakkad to inform people that i am getting mileage when i am driving slowly at 1500 rpm and ask them to release the same.. but it was total flop as no recognition from limca and no official press release from the manufacturer..

it was a lone battle, when other blog started telling "my magical foot", as an engineer i started studying on how it has come true to me; i am one like you, i dont have any special foot or magical power, may be the practice on maintaining constant rpm may be the different from u, but it has a very very important role in fuel efficiency

finally i observed this in my car

at an rpm somewhere around 1440, the FE of the Vehicle is higher and at low rpm (especially idling and driving low speed at top gears) FE is decreasing rapidly. even when u switch over to higher rpm also its is reducing but will gain if u come down ( from 2000 rpm to 1500 rpm). Driving at this rpm is a different speed (lower side) on petrol engine , so that while you test in standard condition with the same speed (for petrol and diesel), the FE is less for petrol(due to high rpm, coz of spark plug and fuel property). That is the basic reason why diesl car are more efficient than petrol. if u ask me what is the best option to get this mileage is addition of another 1 or 2 gears for petrol.

I know many are eager to know how limca test certification is done an on what document support

After Limca Book certification, things changed... Tata Motors Felicitated Me, and they had their Press Release on internet and its knocking all reputed media, also in the first page of yahoo...

Can I ask u one thing, what wrong i did?, i never posted it in yahoo, google, their source is from the manufacturer itself, and public want to know the following answers

1) Am I paid by Tata Motors for their ad or publicity

Ans: Not at all, In fact i have spend my time of 3-6 months and amount of Rs.5,000 from my pocket for the test runs (fuel bills)

2) Do i claim 46.33 kmpl on Manza??

Ans: No, No guarantee, the mileage is based on road conditions, driving technique, fuel, and vehicle design and weight, it goes on

Mileage can be 20, 30, 40 y not even 50 based on road..

have u imagined of 100 kmpl????, (how come nah, u r already criticizing for 46, what if it was 100.. lol)

At 1440 rpm it is showing instant mileage of 99.9 kmpl

I had seen many of them challenging me to ride in city, traffic blocks, tolls, signals through blogs and mails. So u must know one thing, if i am not getting 40 kmpl or if i am getting only 15-20 kmpl it is not a machine made error. Its u and me called public who is creating traffic jams, accidents and unwanted blocks due to indiscipline and unfollowed traffic rules and guidelines. so what u must understand is that we are the main culprits for fuel efficiency loss and we should rectify it, so that the machine delivers mileages. This test ensured that mileage can be achieved in a road having vehicles, so u must accept 40 + kmpl is always on.

Manza has limitation, it will show only upto an Average of 25.0 kmpl , so DIS pic cannot be taken for the same, never mind see at least 25, still its 3.8 kmpl more than what its is certified

( Images inside My Tata Indigo Manza, even after running 38,000, i am getting a better FE, sorry Manza will not show anything more than 25 kmpl as average and instant- This is taken on June 1st 2011)

3) How to minimize traffic blocks, accidents?

Ans: Simple you road track line separation should be based on speed instead of vehicle size (2-wheeler, auto/bus/lorry, cars)

A car is a 4-wheeler, it can be a fiat padmini or a BMW or Manza, imagine first track got scooter on extreme left and lorry on middle and a fiat padmini or car on the extreme right, fiat is driving at 45 kmpl(old car nah) and a bmw is behind him, definitely to over take him what he does????, he will over take through left, thats all its against rule and u may sometime end up in accident. An individuals assault or careless or indiscipline is effecting others. No one is patient, No one is following rules means what???.. yes its called Traffic Jam/Block or Accident.

Because of the traffic block alone, the mileage achieved in same car of 46.33 can come to even 25 or less.. infact many time it happened . i was frustrated.

5) Any Message to public

Ans: yes, see i am not here to claim a best driver or a record winner, thanks to record, because of that now u may read this,, My intention is very very clear, awareness of fuel efficiency about the best fuel efficiency you can get

why??.. coz we are facing threats by fuel price hike and its scarcity, we need to conserve it, so use it wisely by ur role on and off the vehicle on the road.

what it does ??.... if an individual can get 22.22 (just 2.22 km more) than their current average, say 20 kmpl, for 100 km run, you are saving half litre of fuel, imagine if individual saves 0.5 litres per lacs of car you are saving 182.5 crores litres of fuel every year. imagine how many lacs of car u have, and amount of emission reduced based on that??

People thinking of Alternative fuel????

Hydrogen - we are facing water scarcity already,need more???

Ethanol - need petrol as calorific value is less

Electricity - forget it use it for some basic needs

Jetropa - oops, land and building nation were farmers are less, who will cultivate??

Waste - yes there you are,, but what is petrol and diesel ( decomposition of organic matters, isn't a waste)

so conserve petrol and diesel, automatically it will get topped up

I am sorry if my post is hurting anyone personally or officially, my intentions are very very clear once again, i have run the car to 46.33 kmpl and got the record, but i never claim that is the average my car always does, but it can be for u and me, if we desire

so friends, who want to know about what modifications i did , down hill method, bullock cart and difference b/w car, scooter and by- cycle, Now you should realize i dont need any , coz with this i am getting atleast an average mileage of 28-30 kmpl , for running 39,000 + km so far..

Many R & D can be done for the betterment, even i am working on it for you and me

I was receiving lot of mails these days asking the commitment level of TATA Motors towards the achievement and feedback on Manza, before let me come to the commitment level, let me express the feedback of my manza which made me achieve 46.32 kmpl

Built Quality Exterior : Good

Built Quality Interior : Better than all other tata vehicles, every time the seat belt pillar comes out is the main issue

Safety aspects: Nice vision at night, safe for driver and passengers and ABS is good

Pick and Mileage: Excellent , My mileage dropped down to 36kmpl after the second service,may be due to the incorporation of new alloy wheels gifted to me by TATA Motors.

After Sale service: Poor, have to say sub standard

Engine : FIAT nah,,,, Not bad, smooth running but bit noisy

Total km run : 16006 kms as on date.

wait for my next post , i hope that will be more interesting as i will post all the mater related with customer commitment that TATA motors has shown from Top to bottom..

Hi Friends,

Thanks for the support extended, i was going through Google these days and found many site publishing my news with good intention, I sincerely thank all the members of those sites who took initiative for publishing it. It cannot be limited in words, all the viewers had posted their valuable comments and I thank them for going through it and also for wishing me for better horizon.

In, most of the sites i have seen common questions raised by the viewers, henceforth today i am choosing few repeated questions and delivering my answer to best of my knowledge.

Q1. Is it because of your car?, or your driving technique or any other innovation u adopted???

A: Its a team work of car, driver, fuel, road and public , without this one can't achieve good fuel economy in normal roads( my test was conducted i a normal road, not on any special tracks mind you)

Q2. Why Tata hasn't promoted this or not taken any initiative to promote this?. wasn't they aware?. what was their response.

A: Tata knows the matter well, even planned for a Press meet at initial stages, then called off. They have gifted me an alloy wheel through the dealers and also told me that they will promote it after the limca certification (can't understand why to wait so long). about their initiative and customer commitments i cant answer, it varies from people to people and organization to organization. but i am sure that they are enjoying the best selling opportunities by exposing my news to the new customers ;). Safe ploy :D

Q3: What is the secret behind this fuel efficiency

A: Even i am working out for it, i know if i say it out the R& D team will go behind it and achieve it and finally i will be trashed, BUT I AM LEAST BOTHERED,

As in my earlier post i mentioned that driving maintaining rpm is very crucial

At a certain rpm any vehicle could deliver maximum efficiency.

I know at that at one particular reading of rpm i am getting this magical figures, not only in Manza, but also in other cars.My dream now is to work it in technical approach to make it available for all cars with flexibility. for the moment i cant reveal the rpm as i am working out in different parameters to study it and transform the information to public. I would certainly love to drive a 6 geared Toyota corolla altis now expecting it should touch 50 kmpl with ease( need to prove practically tough).

Fuel conservation is the primary goal, it can be achieved by implementing optimal driving methods and also in future developing an higher efficient sliding vane engines along with my friends.

10.Why you wanted to buy Manza ?

Simple. The name itself says it’s King of Kings, is there any one who don’t like kings?. It has everything worth for the rate you pay and in general an Indian budget car in a long way.

11.Plus & minus points you found out about it after using it

Of course, Manza’s inbuilt feature of DIS (Digital/Driver Information System) made me change my driving style and attain these results, because of that we are meeting today. Of course there are minus, the manufacturer never give privilege for the customer who could make them proud, as they feel that that could raise their level of commitments towards the customers, which is Negative approach. Internal build quality is still a question mark.

12. How did you realize first that your car is having this kind of high fuel efficiency?

By testing the fuel efficiency as always by full tank method and self calibration of DIS with the full tank method made me go for a challenge to meet the highest it could deliver. The DIS shown 25 kmpl(the maximum it shows), which made me felt that this could give more than what it shows, if I concentrate on it. .

13. Have you made any modifications to your car?

No modification, I always feel that it is a crime, because the manufacturers don’t give warranty if you do so., as of now I guess It doesn’t need any modification

14. Any extra fittings? Additional accessories?

Yes reverse sensors as the vehicle side mirror design is poor as it is derived from a hatchback design to sedan, hence u can’t view anything in rear side.

15 Do you think that there is a scientific way of driving cars to achieve more fuel efficiency?

Yes, we should know what our car has and how our car responds, because every vehicle different in their weight, size and many other factors, so understand you vehicle first and drive it at the proper rpm with respect to the gear position and speed, ensuring high safety and comfort. This will give an initial way to achieve fuel efficiency.

16. What all things to be taken into consideration in driving?

Safety First , it automatically make the way by speed reduction , rpm control and smooth driving (avoid over acceleration., over braking, over clutch run etc). Drive to road and maintain the vehicle as per the schedule.

17. Which other factors are having an influence on fuel efficiency?

Fuel, Traffic rules & regulations and road - condition

18. What prompted you to pursue this mission of achieving record fuel efficiency?

Simple. Fuel is a valuable resource, we should conserve to its best for better tomorrow or else challenges like availability, hike in pricing will get on top of you and the life will become miserable. An individual could at least 500 ml of fuel comparing to what he is used to by giving priority to fuel efficiency, for 1 lac car we are saving 182.5 lakhs of fuel, which itself is a great impact.

19. Are there somebody who supported/ encouraged you in this mission? What was his/ her contribution?

Parents, wife, siblings, friends and well wishers. Of course as an industrialist I travel 3000-5000 km every month and the bills are paid by the company. If I could go with higher efficiency my over head cost will come down, that also inspired me a lot. I would like all people getting such a fuel efficiency.

20. What is the long term, broader impact of this mission on society?

Save fuel , utilize your resource thinking of better tomorrow.

21. What are the major hurdles in achieving higher fuel efficiency for common man? (Like behavior of others on road, condition of road, traffic etc)

Every year we are facing problem with the conditions of road after it starts raining, that’s one issue, every one is running urgent life, so don’t follow traffic rules and regulations, which is effecting others who follows rules and regulations. Lack of discipline by the drivers is a main one. Of course in India, you could expect dogs, cats, buffalos even human being crossing at unexpected areas. So expect the unexpected, keep it in mind and drive.

22. Other vehicles being used by you, and the higher mileage obtained.

I have currently 3 vehicles including this. In Innova I have achieved 18 kmpl and in Zen Estilo I have achieved 27kmpl maximum, In an Honda city, I have achieved 31.1 kmpl. I am sure these days with technology and innovation growing up with refined engines I am sure one day 100 kmpl will be possible, Its better late than never.

23. Normal mileage you get regularly with manza on different terrains.

Again considering roads, route and distant it varies, few I could say in city I have achieved 25 and in hill areas (Up only) 21.2 kmpl and in straight road, mostly 30+. I am sad that even for trial run I am yet to get a road where I could drive atleast 60 km without stop

Hello Friends,

I would like to share you a news that I have achieved a mileage of 46.32 kmpl in my Tata indigo manza bearing TN 37 BH 3223 on may 25th 2010 and these reports has been sent to limca book of records. as the test is conducted as per their instruction only.

I am still achieving this mileage during my long run and my target is to go past 50+ soon, i have applied for Guinness books as well.

I have not done any modification, but i have a methodology that i follow while driving, now i can get mileage on any cars and i am sure if i could share to the public, it will have a good impact on fuel conservation and also helps to meet out the challenges raised due to fuel price Hike.

I know at this stage when i write a letter, practically u will be thinking its just a claim or a spam. I know i need records in my hand for establishment., But moreover my aim is to spread this to the people as early as possible so they can also achieve these records in any vehicle.

I already informed this to the manufacturers and the supported me in initial stages, once they knew this is a serious issue, due to some reason they started avoiding me, even postponed the press meet they have committed to me. I knew through their dealer head that accepting this record by TATA will raise their commitment level to the customer. As i have applied for limca book of records,they know that my efforts for making it as a news will give them indirect marketing, so that they don't need to shoulder any responsibility.

Moreover last week they have gifted me sets of 4 Nos. Alloy wheel for my manza,which i could blindly accept as their recognition for the achievement, but still disappointed with the commitment towards the global economy by limiting this news spread to others.

I am new to any blog, My friends, well wishers has spread this news through some magazines and website, everywhere i could see people responding back strongly and indeed they are eager to know the secret of success, wait for my next post. i will share with you few tips to increase you current fuel efficiency in cars.
