I recently gesso'd over an old painting that never found a home. Seemed fitting to use that canvas to hold my painting for The Hounds of Love group show to benefit Downtown Dog Rescue this coming Saturday. Should be a ton of great work and its for a good cause, so if you're around, come by Cella Gallery in my neck of the woods in NoHo and say, "yo".

just wanted to show examples of the prints on a white background. When you order your print, as well as many different sizes, you also have the option of a bright white finish so the image looks just like the original artwork. I think I'm still partial to the natural wood background, though, as it creates a new version of the art every time.

'too blue to see you' was on view at Corey Helford Gallery this past Saturday along with many other beautiful paintings but a lot of very talented artists. I'm not sure how long the show is up but check out their website for more details if you haven't seen it already.

I am very happy to now have prints available over at Prints On Wood. Prints are on 3/4" birch wood and are ready to hang. You really don't understand how nice these things look until you see them in person, so get yourself one or five.

I have two postcard sized paintings in a very large group show opening May 2nd with way too many great artists to list here. The idea of the show is to use a postcard or use that format to tell a story about where you are/were from. It was interesting and challenging to fit such a large idea on such a small canvas. I can't wait to see what everyone else came up with.

There are still a few box sets left from my latest show, 'Spectrum'. Each set includes eight signed 12"x18" prints, one of each of the paintings from the show, as well as a signed original painitng(studies for the larger paintings), and a signed hand embossed print on card stock.

Also, due to a large amount of requests, I now have a limited number of individual prints available as well. Each one will also come with a hand embossed print.

I'll be a small part of a pretty big group show later this month at Corey Helford Gallery. Each piece on the walls will be 12"x12" with no more than a $4k price tag in an effort to let would be collectors get a chance at their first purchase.

The line-up is pretty ridiculous. If you're in the area, you'll definitely want to check it out

'Spectrum' Box Set

As part of ‘Spectrum,’ Nate Frizzell’s newest solo exhibition the artist and LeBasse Projects will be releasing a limited edition box set of giclee prints. The box set will contain an 18x12” print of each of the eight paintings from the show. While each print will be hand numbered and signed by the artist, each box will also come with an additional certificate and an original piece of art signed by Frizzell.

There will only be 50 boxes produced – with 8 being designated to go with each of the original oil paintings – leaving only 42 available for sale. Each box will be on pre-order for $1500 and be available at the end of the exhibition. Individual prints will not be sold separately.

All of the artists previous prints have sold out so please contact the gallery to reserve a set as we expect these boxes to sell out as well.

Culver City, CA – LeBasse Projects is proud to announce ‘Spectrum,’ new works from Nate Frizzell. The Los Angeles based artist returns to the gallery for his first solo show of oil paintings since 2011.

For this exhibition Frizzell continues his exploration of self-discovery through the study of the materials that he works with. The show will feature a series of large-scale oil paintings each focusing on a single color from his limited palette – in turn making up the full spectrum. With this, Frizzell aims to create an immersive setting for the viewer where each painting tells it’s own story while exploring what feelings are traditionally evoked by the represented tones.

Frizzell suggests: “For this show, aside from wanting to develop a cohesive body of work on a larger scale, I wanted to see what I'm able to do with the space and see how size can affect the subject matter and how I am able to represent it. I have always used a very limited palette and I wanted to sort of tell the story of each color that I use and explore what they mean traditionally as well as the feelings they evoke in me. I wanted each painting to have an obvious focus on a single color, but have all the other colors incorporated as well. While one is the star, it’s not complete without the others.”

The end result is a series of large paintings that both literally and figuratively represent the artist’s full palette that he has used since he first picked up a brush. After his previous shows opened so successfully this exhibition will undoubtedly be one of the more anticipated of the season’s openings.
