Establishing and utilizing a home greenhouse is an excellent way to save money on food, follow a more nutritious diet, conserve on energy, and benefit the environment at the same time. But greenhouses don’t grow on trees – they have to be built. We don’t all have a trained builder in the family, and we don’t all have the budget to hire a specialist.

This is where greenhouse kits can be useful. If you aren’t looking for an elaborate design but you need a simple and basic greenhouse for your home, this is a great way to get one set up without a huge investment of time or money.

Greenhouse kits vary widely in their cost and their design. A very simple and economical variety can be found for under $40.00 or $50.00. This small greenhouse might consist of nothing more than a two-foot square tent of fabric where one can house a few plants and give them a longer growing season.

In a similar price range, you can also find a basic enclosure for a greenhouse, which will provide the framework and support which can then be covered in the material of your choice.

Moving up the line, you can find larger setups for anywhere between $400 and $900, which would include either fabric or glass walls, and provide sufficient space for growing a full sets of or other plants. Larege greenhouses, from 10 to 20 square feet in size, may cost a few thousand dollars. But this may still be much simpler than building the entire structure from the groud up.

Once you’ve found and purchased a greenhouse kit, you will need to assemble it yourself. (It is, after all, a kit.) But you will have step-by-step instructions, and all the parts you need, sized to fit, and tested by the manufacturers.

While setting up any greenhouse requires an investment of time and money, you should be able to gradually recoup your investment, providing that you actually use your greenhouse. The amount of money that can be saved by growing one’s own food can be easily underestimated – particularly where large families are concerned.

Growing food inside a greenhouse is extroverting, fun, and educational. It can also make it possible for you to grow foods at all times of year, instead of being limited to certain seasons. Going out and buying gardening equipment and seeds can be frustrating when you get so busy with work that by the time you’re ready to work on your garden, it is too late in the year.

A greenhouse can give you the extra leeway you need, and make it possible to have fresh home-grown vegetables year-round. It might also make it possible for you to grow those plants which normally wouldn’t grow in your region at all. Such as – who knows, chilli peppers in Vermont?

We have got used to relying on a whole range of chemical products for the cleaning of our homes and offices without paying attention to how harmful such substances can be for the health or the environment.Every household actually uses stain removers and all sorts of solvents to get clean clothes, impeccable kitchens and germ-free bathrooms. However, with the development of the environmental awareness, some companies have started producing eco friendly cleaning products. Organic solvents and powerful cleaning agents can also be derived from vegetables and plant ingredients, and here we have the solution for eco-friendly cleaning.

It is false to assume that eco-friendly cleaning products cannot eliminate resistant spots and stains such as nail polish, wax, ball-point ink, glue, resins or dyes from solid or textile surfaces. If we manage to eliminate such prejudices and actually try some eco-friendly cleaning solution, we may be pleasantly surprised by the results. We try to clean and remove the dirt that surrounds us by soiling air and water. What are the advantages of switching to eco-friendly cleaning? First of all your home will be clean from toxic fumes and chemicals, you will sleep better and enjoy a great sense of well-being.

Babies and children will no longer be exposed to the chemical residues that remain in the clothing after washing. Nor will there be any more fumes from spray bottles. With eco friendly cleaning, you can say goodbye to home poisons. Send the hazardous substances to a recycling facility and get some safer versions instead. Eco-friendly cleaning equals a safer environment for your children. Moreover, the fewer chemicals you use, the fewer toxic materials will be evacuated in the waste water stream. The alternative to the readymade eco-friendly cleaning products is the use of homemade solutions.

The Internet abounds with eco friendly cleaning products, you just need a bit of time, interest and patience to see how to deal with the issue. Further try to change the cleaning accessories too, and replace them with some natural ones. Sponges, mops and rags should be all natural and reusable. Be careful about the durability of the products, about their health and environmental impact. Major savings will also come together with such changes too.

Versatile and incredibly varied, eco-friendly products gradually become part of our lives. If very few green products were available ten years ago, now we can shop for gift ideas, green services, organic foods, green gifts, green clothes and even green appliances. Reuse, reduce, recycle, this is what defines a green lifestyle. Yet, not everybody knows about the wide offer of eco friendly products, which is usually a matter of personal awareness and consciousness about the environment and the personal impact on it.

Many of the items we use on a daily basis have eco-friendly alternatives, but most of us have not even heard of them. A housewife could show resistance when it comes to changing an efficient chemical bleacher for a bio-based solvent. She will fear poor efficiency and will be reluctant to switch to eco friendly products.Thousands of other similar examples can be found in daily life. In fact, some ‘impossible to make’ changes may be encountered with the most convinced of environmentalists. If this is the way people think, no wonder we are far from using eco friendly products on a daily basis.

A cleaner Earth is not therefore possible without a change of paradigm. A person who is interested in using as many eco friendly products as possible, will also adapt the rest of the lifestyle habits to the green trend. When you become committed to the Earth’s cause, you’ll feel guilty wasting water, electricity or consuming lots of fuel resources. The green phenomenon is therefore a lot more complex than we suspect, and it touches on more issues of which eco friendly products make only one. It goes hand in hand with replacing incandescent bulbs with energy-saving alternatives or it corresponds to the trend of buying hybrid or electric cars instead of fuel-powered vehicle.

Anyone can start using eco friendly products, and make the environmental exercise a daily practice. When families take up the green way, children receive the green education necessary for supporting the environmental efforts required from the next generations. This is how the green education is achieved: first at home and then at school. A child who knows the importance of eco friendly cleaning products will make environmentally safe choices in his or her adult life afterwards.

How can we define a green-friendly lifestyle? People often tend to associate green-friendly products will a lack of individual comfort, and the rawest and most striking example is the ultra brands of toilet paper that feel so soft on the bum. Well, you may not know or care that very soft toilet is made from virgin fiber wood that requires the cutting down of trees. Next time when you consider yourself a green-friendly person, be more critical with your daily habits and see whether you really live up to your standards or simply make superficial claims of environmental concern.

The food you eat tells a lot about how green-friendly you are. Whether out of preoccupation for personal health or care for the environment, lots of people buy local food instead of the non-organic products available in hypermarkets. A vegetables garden will produce very nice food that can be kept 100% pesticide free. This could very well cover a family’s needs of tomatoes, carrots, peppers, peas or beans in a very inexpensive way. Local green-friendly farms need all the support they can get from communities in order to sell their products; think about that, next time you go to the hypermarket.

Then, to continue the list of green living lifestyle examples we come to the importance of outdoor activities. How much time does your child spend in front of the computer or watching TV? The most important thing you can do when guiding him/her in the choice of leisure activities is to give him/her a dose of nature. Walking or playing outside in a natural setting, doing sports, going hiking, cycling or climbing are just a few examples of how you can develop a green-friendly lifestyle for the entire family. If more parents thought like this, there would be fewer video-game consoles sold all over the world.

Lots of other elements define a eco green friendly attitude to life. From the effort to reuse and recycle to the very building of a house according to sustainable criteria, there is so much one can do to stay in harmony with the environment. We have got so used to our comfort, to the huge number of readymade items that serve us every day that we not even think where all our litter goes once we dump it in the bin or what happens to the waste water full of household residues. Just think for a second that the fish we serve for dinner may come from the toxic pool that the ocean has become, then, we may be more co-interested in cleaning this larger ‘home’ of ours.

Cleanliness is vital for a healthy home, but generally we end up using too many chemical cleaning products in rather large quantities, and are unaware of their side effects. There are time honored natural alternatives in the form of organic cleaning products that are just as effective, that do not have such a negative impact on our environment, and that will leave your home smelling delightfully fresh and fragrant.

So, what are these natural alternatives and why haven’t we heard of them earlier?

Natural, or Organic cleaning products are a safe, natural alternative to the harmful chemicals found in common home cleaning products. Every organic cleaning cupboard should have white vinegar, lemon juice, baking soda, pure soap, table salt, washing soda, and essential oils to name just a few. These environmentally-friendly cleaning products are effective, inexpensive, healthy and ethical.

The popular commercial products we use today contain large quantities of heavy duty chemicals and may not bring the harmony and sweetness to your life that the manufacturers would have you believe. Less than one quarter of the 70,000 chemicals used in cleaning products and toiletries have been fully tested for safety, and substances classified as hazardous waste are found in many common cleaning products.

The largest number of occurrences of poisoning are due to non organic cleaning products - drain cleaners, toilet bowl cleaners, bleach, soaps and detergents. Ammonia is a highly volatile chemical frequently found in inorganic cleaning products and is very damaging to your eyes, respiratory tract and skin. Non organic laundry detergents contain phosphorus, enzymes, ammonia, naphthalene, phenol, sodium nitilotriacetate and countless other chemicals. Non organic cleaning products for toilet bowls may cause pulmonary edema, vomiting or coma if ingested. Oven cleaner is one of the most toxic non organic cleaning products that people use.

Using natural household cleaning products is the core of natural cleaning. Organic cleaning products are truly cleaner because they are nontoxic, natural, biodegradable, concentrated, and hypoallergenic, and are excellent cleaners. I love green cleaning products because they are completely safe for the home, they will not harm the environment and have major health benefits. By investing the time to become better informed about the choices that are available to you, you’ll soon discover that environmentally-friendly cleaning products and recipes are easy to find, and will probably fit nicely into your budget. There are numerous excellent books and information available on ‘green cleaning’ and green cleaning products.

I confess; I’m a recent convert to using organic cleaning products at home. The only reason I had not ‘converted’ sooner was that no one had informed me of the natural alternative. I have found the products work just as well in most situations, is less expensive, healthier, more environmentally friendly and it gives me a good feeling to know that I’m ‘doing the right thing’. My chemical free home is a delight to be in – it looks and feels good and smells fresh too.

So, with all the information above, why aren’t more of us switching to the natural alternatives? Based on feedback, the answers I received are; 1) people are not educated or aware about the alternatives, 2) people don’t have the time or desire, and 3) many claim the organic options don’t work as well as chemicals. I have a personal opinion on all three answers, but the wonderful world we live in means people are very different on many levels. As a result, the reasons listed above are valid to many people.

The goal of this article is not to sell you anything; I just want you to be aware, then you can make your own decision. I do however, strongly urge and encourage you to try the natural alternatives, just once. What have you got to lose? I guarantee the benefits you get will far outweigh any inconveniences you feel you may experience. You will feel and smell the benefits of switching to natural cleaning products if not immediately, then certainly after a very short time.

So, clear out your old household cleaners and start anew with the natural alternatives and keep your home clean, safe and healthy. Environmentally-friendly cleaning products are definitely the way to go!!

If you wish to provide only the best for your children, you should consider investing in organic baby clothing. Unlike the mass produced clothes on the market, organic baby clothing has notably fewer consequences to the environment due to its creation. Cotton farming involves the use of pesticides and fertilizers which can enter waterways and destroy ecosystems. Fertilizers and pesticides are responsible for a great deal of the expansion of the dead zones in the ocean, or areas of the ocean that are devoid of oxygen and life. By choosing organic cotton baby clothes, you combat this problem by only supporting farms that do not use these harmful products during the growing of the cotton.

In addition to this, organic baby clothing does not use formaldehyde, a common agent used to prevent wrinkles in clothing. Formaldehyde is a cancer causing agent that is also known to be a skin irritant. By limiting the exposure of formaldehyde to babies, you lower their discomfort.

The downside to organic baby clothing is in the fact that it requires more care to maintain. Warm water and drying cycles can shrink organic clothing. Because of this, they require specific washing processes that can add time to maintaining your baby’s clothing. Many people who are interested in organic baby clothes, however, do not mind the little extra work. In some cases, they do not mind the wrinkles, either. Babies are prone to making their clothes dirty, so a few wrinkles do not bother most parents.

Another downside to organic baby clothing is that many of the labels most parents are interested in are not yet involved in the organic movement. This limits the styles and colors of baby clothing.

When you purchase organic baby clothing, you should make sure to use natural cleaning products on your clothes. Standard cleaners can cause irritation to skin, and many organic cloths will hold residues of the cleaners. By choosing natural, hypoallergenic cleaning agents, you do not risk these residues from harming your child.

If you are interested in organic baby clothing, you should also consider organic baby care supplies as well. Crafted from organic cotton and bamboo, many of the organic baby supplies on the market are stylish as well as gentle on the skin. As baby care products must be non-toxic, these products are inherently a good choice as the majority of natural products are safe for even young infants.

You can purchase organic baby clothing online or through specialty retailers.

Knowing how to select green products can take all of the guess work out of what was once a tricky process. Many people are concerned about the environment and the consequences our behavior will have on future generations. Because of this, there is a desire to own green products. These products are safe for the environment, and did not cause damage to the environment when it was created. However, there are a few things that you need to know and understand about green products and their development.

First and foremost, when a company claims a green cleaning products do not harm the environment, they do not mean that no damage whatsoever is done. What they mean is that there is no lasting harm to the environment. In other words, the actions they take does not lower the sustainability of the planet for future generations. Most products somehow cause some form of damage to the environment upon creation. This can be in the form of the transporting of the product from warehouse to store, or in the form of the land taken to build the processing and manufacturing plants required for its creation.

The most common labeling of green products is in the idea that the product will not cause damage to the environment when it is disposed of. These types of green products are the most popular as it helps maintain a sustainable environment and is much easier to get rid of when you are finished with them.

Green building products are also designed to help make items in your home safer for yourself and your children. A good example of this is in chlorine removing devices for drinking water, baths and showers. Chlorine is a purifier, removing harmful substances from the water. However, chlorine is also an irritant. It can dry out hair and skin and cause unpleasant reactions to those who are susceptible to chlorine. By removing the chlorine from the water, you can enjoy better baths and better tasting drinking water.

Other green products that can help support the environment include organic soaps and shampoos, non-toxic toothpastes, and recycled toilet papers and paper towels. By changing the decisions you make in the grocery store, you can make a big difference in how much damage you do to the environment. If consumers support green products, more will be produced. If more is produced, they will become more common, resulting in a better sustainability of the planet for future generations.

If you wish to make direct efforts to protect the environment, you should consider investing in eco product. Eco products are made with biodegradable, natural ingredients that do not take away the habitat or food source of endangered species. By avoiding herbs, plants and minerals that are in rain forests, eco products contribute to the lasting sustainability of the planet while filling the requirements of a picky modern society.

When you select eco products for use as cleaning agents in your home, you are directly contributing by lessening the amount of contaminates that are entering the waterways in your area. This lowers the amount of damage done to local ecosystems, as well as to ecosystems that are further downstream from you. Organic products also contribute to this as well, as the natural fertilizers – or the complete abandonment of fertilizers – lowers the amount of nitrates and phosphorous materials that are entering the waterways. This lowers the spread of dead zones in the sea, such as the one found in the Gulf of Mexico.

Green living is not something you can do on and off and expect to make a big difference. Once you purchase eco friendly product, you should make every effort to continue using the products. By increasing the demand for eco products, you help to spread the message to producers that the issue of dangerous chemicals and that natural, biodegradable cleaning solutions are desired by the general public. The more that people use eco products, the quicker improvements will be made on cleaning supplies, soaps, and health care products.

If you are new to green living, stock up on a variety of eco products and experiment with which ones work best for you. Eco products provides a variety of different solutions for your home care needs, all of which are safe for the environment from manufacturing to disposal. While the eco products themselves are biodegradable, it is your responsibility to properly recycle the containers they come in. With recyclable materials, eco products are designed to do as little permanent damage to the environment when used.

Green living requires a lot of work to get used to, but once you are into the habit of the lifestyle, you will be able to make a big difference in the amount of harmful wastes your household produces. This ensures that future generations will be able to enjoy a healthy planet and lifestyle.

Eco product can be ordered online or through local retailers.

There are many benefits to having an ecofriendly lifestyle. A green lifestyle, or a lifestyle that leaves minimal damage to the environment, is growing more popular as the damage caused by carelessness is becoming more obvious. With the existence of dead zones rapidly growing in the oceans, as well as the mass die offs of coral, endangered species and forests, more and more people are concerned with purchasing ecofriendly goods and altering how they live to combat the problem.

However, there are a few things that you need to keep in mind. Purchasing and using ecofriendly goods is only the beginning. With so much demand for energy, altering how you live so that you do not draw as much electricity from the power grids, is a vital part in helping earth become a sustainable planet for future generations. Energy-Star compliant appliances is only the beginning. Building sustainable homes, or homes that do not cause lasting harm to the environment and are green friendly, is an excellent way to help combat the problem. As many sustainable homes include ecofriendly solutions such as large gardens that produce food for the entire family, this is an excellent alternative towards the stereotypical house.

There are many ecofriendly products on the market, ranging from bleach alternatives to organic hand soaps. When you are trying to decide how best to help the environment, you should make a list of the various products you frequently use and determine which ones can be replaced with ecofriendly alternatives. Do not expect to save yourself money at first when you make the change to ecofriendly goods. Until the market for ecofriendly is higher than the harsh chemicals that damage the environment, these goods will not be cheaper than the items you buy in bulk. Being ecofriendly often results in higher prices, as many ecofriendly companies are also Fair Trade participants. Fair Trade is more expensive, as more of the money of production goes straight to the workers in third world and developing countries.

While many ecofriendly products lack caustics and dangerous chemicals, they should be kept out of the reach of children and pets. Digesting these products can cause health issues. Natural, after all, does not mean non-toxic. Ecofriendly is safe for the environment, not necessarily safe for you. That said, many ecofriendly products will not cause lasting harm to humans or pets if accidentally digested.

You can purchase ecofriendly goods online or through specialized local retailers.

Eco friendly cleaning supplies are a great way to keep your home tidy without causing damage to the environment. Bleach, chlorine, and caustic cleaning agents can do a great deal of damage if they leak out into the local ecosystems and water supplies. In addition to this, these chemicals are irritants, which can cause chemical burns and severe illness if digested or spilled directly onto the flesh. As eco cleaning products are often safe, even for pets and children, many parents prefer to keep these around the house rather than harsher cleaning supplies, as accidental exposure to these agents is a lot less harmful.

However, it is important to realize that eco friendly cleaning products are not necessarily safe for consumption or good for your skin. When you use eco friendly cleaning supplies, you should store them out of the reach of children and read the warning labels on them very carefully.

What separates e.g. natural cleaning from chemicals like bleach, chlorine and caustics is the fact that if spilled, these compounds are biodegradable and leave a significantly smaller footprint when exposed to the environment. From the creation of these supplies to their use, they do a lot less damage to the environment than their chemical counterparts. Many eco friendly cleaning companies will evaluate just what goes into the products and determine if the ingredients are suitable based off of the habitat the ingredients are from. Many eco friendly cleaning companies, for example, will not use supplies that are only found in the rain forest. If endangered species require the ingredient to survive, then most companies will avoid using it.

Because of this, you will find that citrus, coconut and a lot of herbs are used in the creation of eco friendly cleaning supplies. Citrus is a very common acid, as is coconut. As herbs can be grown in greenhouses and on organic farms, they often do not pose any danger to the environment.

In addition to being good for the environment, eco friendly cleaning companies tend to support Fair Trade. Fair Trade is the concept that all workers receive a fair pay. When a company supports Fair Trade, the prices are typically higher to support the better wages the lowest level workers receive. By supporting Fair Trade companies, you are supporting the rights of other humans in third world, developing countries.

Eco friendly cleaning products can be purchased online or at local retail stores.
