AFTER YEARS OF TELLING PEOPLE CHEMOTHERAPY IS THE ONLY WAY TO TRY (’TRY’, BEING THE KEY WORD) TO ELIMINATE CANCER, JOHNS HOPKINS IS FINALLY STARTING TO TELL YOU THERE IS AN ALTERNATIVE WAY .

Cancer Update from Johns Hopkins:

1. Every person has cancer cells in the body. These cancer
cells do not show up in the standard tests until they have
multiplied to a few billion. When doctors tell cancer patients
that there are no more cancer cells in their bodies after
treatment, it just means the tests are unable to detect the
cancer cells because they have not reached the detectable
size.

2. Cancer cells occur between 6 to more than 10 times in a
person’s lifetime.

3. When the person’s immune system is strong the cancer
cells will be destroyed and prevented from multiplying and
forming tumors.

4. When a person has cancer it indicates the person has
nutritional deficiencies. These could be due to genetic,
but also to environmental, food and lifestyle factors.

5. To overcome the multiple nutritional deficiencies, changing
diet to eat more adequately and healthy, 4-5 times/day
and by including supplements will strengthen the immune system.

6. Chemotherapy involves poisoning the rapidly-growing
cancer cells and also destroys rapidly-growing healthy cells
in the bone marrow, gastrointestinal tract etc, and can
cause organ damage, like liver, kidneys, heart, lungs etc.

7.. Radiation while destroying cancer cells also burns, scars
and damages healthy cells, tissues and organs.

8. Initial treatment with chemotherapy and radiation will often
reduce tumor size. However prolonged use of
chemotherapy and radiation do not result in more tumor
destruction.

9. When the body has too much toxic burden from
chemotherapy and radiation the immune system is either
compromised or destroyed, hence the person can succumb
to various kinds of infections and complications.

10. Chemotherapy and radiation can cause cancer cells to
mutate and become resistant and difficult to destroy.
Surgery can also cause cancer cells to spread to other
sites.

11. An effective way to battle cancer is to starve the cancer
cells by not feeding it with the foods it needs to multiply.

*CANCER CELLS FEED ON:

a. Sugar substitutes like NutraSweet, Equal, Spoonful, etc are made
with Aspartame and it is harmful. A better natural substitute
would be Manuka honey or molasses, but only in very small
amounts. Table salt has a chemical added to make it white in
color Better alternative is Bragg’s aminos or sea salt.

b. Milk causes the body to produce mucus, especially in the
gastro-intestinal tract. Cancer feeds on mucus. By cutting
off milk and substituting with unsweetened soy milk cancer
cells are being starved.

c. Cancer cells thrive in an acid environment. A meat-based
diet is acidic and it is best to eat fish, and a little other meat,
like chicken. Meat also contains livestock
antibiotics, growth hormones and parasites, which are all
harmful, especially to people with cancer.

d. A diet made of 80% fresh vegetables and juice, whole
grains, seeds, nuts and a little fruits help put the body into
an alkaline environment. About 20% can be from cooked
food including beans. Fresh vegetable juices provide live
enzymes that are easily absorbed and reach down to
cellular levels within 15 minutes to nourish and enhance
growth of healthy cells. To obtain live enzymes for building
healthy cells try and drink fresh vegetable juice (most
vegetables including be an sprouts) and eat some raw
vegetables 2 or 3 times a day. Enzymes are destroyed at
temperatures of 104 degrees F (40 degrees C)..

e. Avoid coffee, tea, and chocolate, which have high
caffeine Green tea is a better alternative and has cancer
fighting properties. Water-best to drink purified water, or
filtered, to avoid known toxins and heavy metals in tap
water. Distilled water is acidic, avoid it.

12. Meat protein is difficult to digest and requires a lot of
digestive enzymes. Undigested meat remaining in the
intestines becomes putrefied and leads to more toxic
buildup.

13. Cancer cell walls have a tough protein covering. By
refraining from or eating less meat it frees more enzymes
to attack the protein walls of cancer cells and allows the
body’s killer cells to destroy the cancer cells.

14. Some supplements build up the immune system
(IP6, Flor-ssence, Essiac, anti-oxidants, vitamins, minerals,
EFAs etc.) to enable the bodies own killer cells to destroy
cancer cells… Other supplements like vitamin E are known
to cause apoptosis, or programmed cell death, the body’s
normal method of disposing of damaged, unwanted, or
unneeded cells.

15. Cancer is a disease of the mind, body, and spirit.
A proactive and positive spirit will help the cancer warrior
be a survivor. Anger, un-forgiveness and bitterness put
the body into a stressful and acidic environment. Learn to
have a loving and forgiving spirit. Learn to relax and enjoy
life.

16. Cancer cells cannot thrive in an oxygenated
environment. Exercising daily, and deep breathing help to
get more oxygen down to the cellular level. Oxygen
therapy is another means employed to destroy cancer
cells.

1. No plastic containers in micro.

2. No water bottles in freezer.

3. No plastic wrap in microwave..

Johns Hopkins has recently sent this out in its newsletters. This information is being circulated at Walter Reed Army Medical Center as well. Dioxin chemicals cause cancer, especially breast cancer. Dioxins are highly poisonous to the cells of our bodies. Don’t freeze your plastic bottles with water in them as this releases dioxins from the plastic. Recently, Dr Edward Fujimoto, Wellness Program Manager at Castle Hospital , was on a TV program to explain this health hazard. He talked about dioxins and how bad they are for us. He said that we should not be heating our food in the microwave using plastic containers. This especially applies to foods that contain fat He said that the combination of fat, high heat, and plastics releases dioxin into the food and ultimately into the cells of the body. Instead, he recommends using glass, such as Corning Ware, Pyrex or ceramic containers for heating food You get the same results, only without the dioxin. So such things as TV dinners, instant ramen and soups, etc., should be removed from the container and heated in something else. Paper isn’t bad but you don’t know what is in the paper. It’s just safer to use tempered glass, Corning Ware, etc. He reminded us that a while ago some of the fast food restaurants moved away from the foam containers to paper The dioxin problem is one of the reasons.

Also, he pointed out that plastic wrap, such as Saran, is just as dangerous when placed over foods to be cooked in the microwave. As the food is nuked, the high heat causes poisonous toxins to actually melt out of the plastic wrap and drip into the food. Cover food with a paper towel instead.

I am always learning and studying  something new. Whether it’s about how best to work with nature when growing things, how best to build our egg mobile or how to arrange my office so that I can be efficient. I am always trying to make something better.

It is 4:58 am and I couldn’t sleep. Something was on my mind that I couldn’t put my finger on. Then it occurred to me: It hit me like a bolt of lightning. People make decisions in some of the most haphazard ways that cost them dearly most of the time. For example suppose one of our unmarried sons got tired of hearing his mother asking when he was going to get married and settle down with a family. One day he decides he has had it… he is going to shut her up.

Its Friday night and he goes down to local singles club or where ever young kids go today. He walks in and scans the room for a few minutes. He is not looking for the prettiest little thing or the one who looks successful with nice clothes on and carries herself with self assurance. Nope… he is looking for the most desperate girl in the place.  Yea… why not?

He spots her sitting in the corner where it is kind of dark hoping no one will ask her to dance. Now suppose he goes over and sits down and begins a conversation. After about 15 minutes he pops the question and asks her to marry him. Then he spends the next 15 minutes convincing her he is sincere. Well after she and her friends laugh him out of the place he moves on to the next watering hole on Saturday night to find a desperate girl who will say yes.

While this may sound unrealistic I have found over the years that most people go through life in a semi unconscious state looking for that instant gratification our society demands. They don’t focus their attention on the important decisions that will have an impact on their future. Partner… our divorce rate is at 50% and climbing so this is not to much of a stretch. Most people don’t put much thought into important decisions that will effect them long term.

If our son were to pick a bride in the obscure manner I described above they would enter into a marriage that everyone would know is going to end in disaster. People pick businesses and sink their hard earned money into them with out much more thought than our son picking his bride. I know this because  most small businesses fail in the first 5 years.

The reason for this sleepless night…I was wondering why people had to be convinced the food we raise is healthy for them and they should buy it. Why don’t they just see the common sense in front of them and buy all they can afford.

I realize people make decisions like my son picking his desperate bride… nearly everyday.  For example when people go to the grocery store to pick the pick the food they eat for the week … stand at the front of the store and look at what is in the basket when they get to the check out line. And they do it with reckless abandon as if their bodies will take the abuse and they will never have to pay a price later on from eating processed food.

It is now 5:09 am and I am glad I figured that out. Now I can rest and don’t have to worry about convincing anyone about the food we grow. It is much easier to find the few people who know about real food and they understand the stuff in the store is just the semblance of food. Our First Lady Mrs. Obama got into hot water when they first moved into the White House with her organic garden.

Not only is the divorce rate high, the business failure rate higher but the health problems plaguing this country… is off the charts. And I wonder why people don’t have common sense about eating healthy.

I know most of you who know me are not going to believe this but I met a fellow the other day while shopping in Richmond Va. We just struck up a pretty interesting conversation while standing in line at the checkout. Donna accuses me of not knowing a stranger and that I will talk with anyone anywhere.  I think she is exaggerating.

My new friend told me he was visiting Richmond Va our wonderful capital for the first time on business and was visiting family. The cashier was having troubles so our conversation expand into things other than the weather.

He told me he was a nutritionist. When I told him what we did here on the farm well that conversation could have gone on for ever I believe. I told him about my step mother being a dietitian.. and then it did go on for a long time.

An interesting profession that is not discussed or much known about is the profession of a nutritionist or dietitian. My first hint of a problem with our food supply in this country was at a pretty young age. My step mother, Hilda talk about the lack of nutrition in our diets and how we had better wake up. My step mother was a dietitian and worked primarily in nursing homes.

Poor Nutrition Observed First Hand

Being employed in a nursing home setting my step mother saw the effects of a life time of poor nutrition and what it does to individual people and what it does to us as a nation. The myth is that that poor nutrition is greater in people with low incomes. While this was true to some extent such as big cities but according to Hilda this was not the case in rural areas outside the cities.

What Group Is Most Susceptible To Poor Nutrition?

In our many conversations she would describe how a lot of the middle class and above actually had worse dietary habits than most with limited means. The one thing that attributed to this was the middle class and above would eat out more often and did so because of their schedules and available funds.

Her close relationship with all the patients in the nursing homes revealed in personal conversations most people who had limited incomes grew their own gardens and understood not necessarily eating healthy but eating quality food.  They ate fresh vegetables all summer long and canned or froze a lot of vegetables to last through the winter. Fresh eggs from chickens that ate bugs and breathed fresh air were part of their diet.

This goes back to the article I wrote a while back about people don’t miss what they never had. If you have never eaten fresh vegetables out of the garden or fresh sausage you don’t miss them. But, those of us who do eat the best of the best… despise going to the industrial grocery and having to buy anything.

Passion For Good Food Is With Us Forever

It was pretty cool listening to her tell stories about the arguments that would take place in the day room. One of the best stories she would tell  (it was the best because she repeated it 100 times) was about two old men sitting in the day room arguing about the best way to raise and process a chicken.They were so adamant about their beliefs, if they weren’t in wheel chairs and past ninety they may have gone to blows.

And when that storm blew over another storm came up when they got into it about the best way to make chicken stock. Hilda use to belly laugh telling me about their threats they made to each another. But, she admired their passion in what they believed. Both of those ol birds complained about the food they were served from the kitchen. That was the only thing they agreed on.

Nutrition And Lifestyle Are Visible When We Age

These same people were most often some of the oldest with the sharpest of minds in the nursing home. Besides eating wonderful meals at home most of the time, they also got their exercise working in the garden and doing chores in the yard and flower beds. This combination kept them healthy.

Working With Nutritionist

Her other duties was working closely with the nutritionist who came on monthly visits. The nutritionist would answer questions Hilda may have and was a sounding board about how to skirt policies that didn’t make sense. In some jurisdictions and different countries there is no distinction between a nutritionist and a dietitian. In the area she worked a nutritionist had more schooling and had to meet certain benchmarks to have the title of nutritionist.

I would hear her talk about lots of different things regarding not just the proper food to prepare and how to prepare it but the food they had to buy. Her first complaint was how do you fix something that has been abused forever. The fast food and the prepared foods that most of the patients ate caused a whole life time of damage and bad habits.

On the top of her list of complaints was the the nursing homes budget for the kitchen. The budget was not the problem. There purchasing policy left no room for the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables let alone the organically grown products.

I remember conversations where Hilda was so mad you could see her face turn red talking about having to buy the same processed foods from the Wall Street commercial suppliers that caused most of the health problem these patients had in the first place.

What got her blood really boiling was when she would talk about the farmers that would come into the nursing home that would have gladly supplied fresh everything. It wasn’t just the budget, the nursing homes were micro managed with some knot head sitting behind a computer making policy’s that made no sense. A decision was made that every supplier had to go through a screening process and that all the food coming into their homes had to undergo an inspection process and the supplier had to be on a list of approved vendors.

This policy wasn’t about a safety issue. It was about the nursing home was owned by a Wall Street firm and they wanted to limit access to only there brethren other Wall Street firms.  It was a policy to prevent access to the market.

You cannot micro manage good food no more than you can run a farm from behind a desk in a corporate office. And if you as the consumer want good nutrition in your diet, you can’t sit on your butt, read some label on the package or a brochure that tells you how wonderful a product is and believe  everything you read. If you really want good food you have to know the farmer. You have to know the process the farmer goes through to raise everything they grow and approve or disapprove the process from what you see.

Those two old birds who were arguing… bet they didn’t learn what they believed from some label or a book they read. And I also bet when they were capable of growing anything on a farm… I would have been the first customer in line and would have been a customer for life.

Natures Choice Farms Egg Mobile I have been pretty busy this winter and spring. Natures Choice Farm and other projects have kept me pretty busy so I didn’t write much.  We built a new egg mobile and added on another lean too for Donnas plants. We also poured some concrete for our processing center that makes working there much more enjoyable.

Well…being busy is a half truth. The real reason I don’t write much is because I can’t make myself write about what is really going on. I am so disgusted with the food industry and our representatives that I have become so enraged… I can’t see straight anymore. In poker we call that going on tilt. Well, I was so on tilt that it was best I leave it alone.

Any good poker player, athlete or businesses person  knows when ever something messes with your mind, you have to get past it and move on in life. Some tell me this develops character.  Donna will be the first to admit I am a character.

Well, I am still mad as hell but now I am able to talk about the terrible behavior in a semi objective way without getting up on my soapbox and looking like some conspiracy theorist KOOK.

My new resolution: I am over it. I am going to work hard at finding simple solutions to bad behaviors. Making complex problems simple with the right mind set. Please keep reading.

New Beginnings

Donna and I are about to have our sixth grandchild, Our youngest son Justin who you may have met and his finance are having a baby in September. We went to dinner a week ago with Mason’s family to find out what we were having. Everyone was excited.

Some of our grandsons hoped for a puppy… but we found out they are going to have a baby boy. That’s six grandsons and ZERO granddaughters (but who’s counting). Whoo Hoo… lots of FFH members (Future Farm Hands :) .

No Chemicals On This Farm… We Hope

Okay, so we are having a new baby. What does that have to do with farming? Well as you know we do things naturally on our farm. Don’t worry they will go to the hospital when the baby is born.

I am talking about no chemicals, only organic processes on Natures Choice Farms. We want our little one’s to grow up healthy and to have the best nature can provide. Well that’s what I am mad about. It’s not quite the way it is working out. The chemicals are coming from directions we didn’t think possible.

Labeling Of Food Is A Joke… Get To Know Your Farmer.

In my research the major issue in the food industry is labeling of our food. I found out that labeling of our food is pure nonsense designed to fool the public. Our representatives in Washington only required labeling after several groups put lobbing pressure on them showing the reprehensible behavior of certain food manufacturers. But, like everything in Washington it turned into a game.

The food industry argues about what has to be on the label. So, our representatives who sit on the farm committee turn a blind eye and the labels become meaningless. For example a company came up with a way to grow genetically altered salmon. The company argued that the consumer didn’t need to know that the salmon was genetically altered because they would be biased. Yea, no joke… You are right about that.

But, when the smoke cleared the label doesn’t have to say anything about the salmon being genetically altered.  GIVE ME A BREAK! It’s not what they tell you that’s in the food its what they don’t tell that will harm your health.

Another example, everything is now being labeled organic. If you have 10K chickens in a confinement house and you have a little yard with no grass that a few will fit in and have access to, this is going to be considered organic.

Labeling is a Crock…

Canada and EU Rule Our Babies Are Being Poisoned

This labeling problem is not just with the food. The packaging industry uses a chemical referred to as bisphenol-A (BPA). This chemical is found in food can linings, plastic bottles, receipts and even DVD’s. It is one of the most manufactured chemicals in history. Over six billion pounds is produced annually

The problem. BPA can and does leach from the bottles and cans into the contents. As a consequence 90% of all Americans carry measurable amounts of BPA in our bodies. So, you ask why I should care. Because it’s Toxic. Remember lead paint… it’s toxic too?

Hundreds of research studies have shown that the chemical mimics the hormone estrogen in the body, disrupting the natural functioning of the hormonal system. This is serious cause for concern. Higher concentrations of BPA in the body have been associated with recurrent miscarriages, altered gendered behaviors in children, and altered hormone levels in men. Workers who had been exposed to BPA on the job reported significantly higher rates of erectile dysfunction than those who had not been. Other studies have linked it to heart disease, diabetes, and other metabolic disorders.

Would You Use Lead Paint To Make Baby Bottles?

In 2010 Canada added this chemical to its list of toxic chemicals paving the way for a complete ban on its use in that country in the near future. Canada went a step further and banned its use in plastic baby bottles. The European Union has followed suit and in March 2011 approved a similar ban.

Do you believe that? Put toxic chemicals in plastic baby bottles knowing from mountains of research what lead paint did to kids that ate it.

The Game Is Changing

That’s just the beginning. As expected this issue has been raised in the United States and the lobbyists are up in arms. The U.S. has not addressed this issue as expected.

But, things seem to be changing without government intervention. It is consumer education and information flowing so fast today with the internet that retailers are not waiting on some legislation to stop toxic chemicals from being used in plastic baby bottles. Sears, Target and Toys R Us have stopped selling baby bottles produced with BPA in them.

Can you guess where we are going to suggest our kids set up their accounts for a wish list for family members to buy baby accessories? Not Wal Mart! Walmart still sells baby bottles with BPA in them.

Financial Gain Is How The Score Is Kept

We are using the same character flaw referred to as … Greed, corrupt corporations and legislators have survived on for centuries to now correct the market.  Money pouring in from the large corporation’s through lobbyist, to our representative’s election campaigns fueled the corruption we have seen in the past.

These same large corporations realize that the rules of the game are changing. Those same politicians they would bribe/lobbied… are no longer the rule makers.  Consumers are now in charge of driving the train. With the advent of the internet and 500 cable channels, there is no more shoving the corruption under the proverbial rug and denying the truth. Consumers are more aware about what is going on today…And Now You Are Too?

Armed with this information the voting won’t be done at the polls. Consumers will vote with their families budget and retailers are paying close attention. If you were buying baby bottles where would you not shop?

Water we are told is good for us. What about drinking water from plastic bottles? Whats in the plastic?

The internet is a powerful weapon. Send this article to your friends and family.

We can stay away from Walmarts baby section one person at a time until they change their policy.

The Brandermill Green Market opens this coming Saturday, April 2nd.  The Farmer’s market is located just off 288 and Hull Street in the Market Square Shopping Center. The hours of operation are 10 am to 2 pm.

The spring Farmer’s Markets in Richmond Virginia are getting under way over the next few weeks.  Brandermill’s Green Market gives everyone a jump on their market shopping.  The Farmer’s Market offer the opportunity to BUY FRESH, BUY LOCAL.

According to Jennifer Strader of the Brandermill Community Association, there has been a positive response from more local farmers who are excited about participating in the market. Those looking for that perfect steak or roast should check out Greenway grass-fed beef free of antibiotics and hormones. Those feeling a bit more adventurous can try oysters from Winter Haven Oyster Company. The oysters are grown in the greenest way possible by letting them mature naturally in the Chesapeake Bay. Fresh from-the-nest eggs will be for sale, along with homemade breads and baked goods—the perfect addition to any meal. Also you can enjoy Nature’s Choice Farms Fresh Eggs and Pastured Chickens, antibiotic and hormone free. The chickens and eggs provided by Nature’s Choice Farms are products of a family farm in South Central Virginia.

In addition to Nature’s Choice Farms of Virginia providing pastured poultry and and farm fresh eggs they have Nursery.  Nature’s Choice Farms will be brightening up the market with beautiful assortment of annual and perennial flower ready to plant in your flower beds.  It is also time to start planting your cole crops. Nature’s Choice “Nursery” has a large variety of vegetable plants including tomato, peppers, squash, cucumbers, herbs and much more.

Jennifer says, “Most of our vendors from last year will be with them again this Farmer’s Market season. Jennifer with Wildtree, Lola with her fantastic pasta, Charles with his many varieties of produce, and Max from Greyhaven Winery.” Jennifer, who has coordinated the BCA-sponsored market for the past two years, has come to know the vendors well. “I understand how purchasing products from them directly contributes to their livelihoods and families, and keeps Chesterfield a thriving community,” she says. “When I can purchase products that are made with pride, grown with quality in mind, and displayed with care, I get the ‘buy local’ movement. I also see the value in showing those who live outside Brandermill what a progressive and unique community we call home.”

Most folks think that a small farm who caters to a select few local individuals would not have any thing to worry about.  A small Central Virginia farmer only needs to know about raising pasture chicken and collecting eggs from their free range chickens. A mindless task. Whats the fuss all about.

Moreover, most would think a small farmer would not have to pay any attention to important things like the Federal Reserve, Inflation, World Markets, China buying Federal Securities or the grain production of the world. My friend times are a changin.

Farming throughout history has always been uncertain but today it is even more uncertain than ever. Farming is similar to law. In law every case is different. In farming every season is different.

You may assume all speeding tickets are the same and a farmer has two seasons.  Either we have too much rain or not enough. Both assumptions are wrong.

When it comes to corn production the experts look to the three “I’s”. They watch Iowa, Illinois, and Indiana as they are the largest corn producing states in the country. The weather does play a big role but it is not only the weather that affects corn.

Besides the weather we are fast approaching times  about to change history. Never has the United States owed so much money to a communist country. China is the major player when it comes to buying our Federal Securities. In other words they are the banker the United States goes to for loans. Corporations sell debenture’s the government sells pieces of paper called securities. Fancy labeling for nothing more than an I.O.U and a way to borrow money.

Grain Production Not Able To Keep Up

Now lets take a look at the production rates of grain. At the moment the price of corn is sky high.  My father in law use to tell me that corn was the same price today as it was 50 years ago. As of two years ago he can no longer say that.

Someone decided it was a good idea to use corn (food) to make fuel to run our cars. I suppose the idea was to reduce/curb the price on fuel OPEC could charge.

The price of gas at this moment is $3.00 per gallon. So, converting corn into fuel didn’t do anything to reduce the fuel costs,  instead the price of our food is going through the roof because there is not enough corn production to sustain both food and fuel.

History Repeating Itself

Now couple all of this together and we have a mess. During the Versailles treaty after WWI the Germans owed France war reparations. Germany turned on the printing presses and began printing money as fast as they could. The Germans thought the French were fools and they could buy there way out of trouble with worthless paper.

The French weren’t buying it and refused the German’s worthless paper money. The Germans printing presses created hyper inflation to the point it practically took a wheel barrow load of money to buy a loaf of bread.

Hyper Inflation will cause a country to practically stop.  Should China call a meeting with the Q4 and announce the cut off of credit to the United States this country will practically shut down as history has proven in the past.

New Lessons To Learn

The main lesson to all of this was when the country of Germany stopped because of hyper inflation there was a run on the food supply. Supermarket shelves dried up quickly. Although the history books don’t talk about it a lot of Germans died from starvation.

My Grandfather was French and his wife my Grandmother was German. My research for this part of history was very personal. There were lots of debates in our family on who won the war.

In summary, the dollar is weak, the bankers for our country are not comfortable with our worthless currency. Remember when the Federal Reserve cranked up the printing presses to bail out the automakers and the financial thieves on Wall Street…. this was the beginning of our hyper inflation.

Hang On To Your Hat

Unemployment is rising and the economy is in the dumper. Food is at an all time high because we are using food for fuel coupled with inflation. The prices on everything is rising. My friend Joel Saltain at Polyface farms is currently charging $11.95 for his boneless chicken breasts.

The times are here and its not theory. Sixty days ago I bought a 250′ roll of 12/3 copper wire for the farm at a cost of $58. Today that same roll is $109 and is projected to go to $150 by July.  Last summer the scrap yards were paying about $3 per hundred pounds for steel. Today it is $12 per hundred pounds.

We ran a survey about a month ago and found the following:

Most have watched Food Inc.

Most know about the Industrial Food Supply and how it is produced.

Most still buy chicken and eggs from the grocery store because they run sales for chicken at .99 cents per pound.

Most stock up during these sales.

Most buy quality food as they can afford it.

Most can’t afford it all the time.

I believe by the time you get to this point in my article you found out small farmers do research more than if were going to get rain or not and by being informed are going to be the backbone of the country should disaster strike.

CHICKENS AND EGGS AVAILABLE  IN WEST END

 

West End Farmer’s Market, Richmond, VA- This Saturday, January 15th, between 10:30 and  11:00 Nature’s Choice Farms has set up a drop for our customers to pick up their chickens and eggs.
 

We will be located at the entrance of the West End Farmer’s Market.

 

Please call or email to pre-order your items. We have a good stock of eggs, but remember, these go really fast.

  

We also have whole chickens, chicken 1/2’s, leg quarters, chicken wings and gizzards.

 

Special Savings this Saturday on Whole Chickens.  If you buy two or more chickens your price will be $ 2.75 per lb.  Also chicken leg quarters will be $1.99 per lb. 

 

If the Saturday drop is not convient for you…We will be at the Huguenot-Robious Market this Thursday between 10 and 3 at the Great Big Greenhouse.
