We are now taking orders for custom Nautilus Jerseys. Cost for the short sleeve version is estimated at $75-$85 depending on quantities and includes artwork, taxes and shipping. The long-sleeve version has a heavier, warmer fabric and will be about $20 more.

Jim's Daughter National Champ

Thanks to a great turnout from our members, and support from many friends of the club, we had 70 runners this weekend and raised $1,015 for the relief effort in Haiti.

A donation in the name of the Nautilus Running Club & Friends has been made to the Canadian Red Cross.

The Posse Rides July 3 & 4

The 2010 Trepassey Posse will hit the road Saturday July 3 for the annual 2-day, 194 mile ride around the Irish Loop.

Run For Haiti Next Weekend

Next Friday and Saturday Nautilus will host runs to raise funds for the relief effort in Haiti.

Take a $10 bill with you and join us for a run Friday January 22 5:30pm, and/or Saturday January 23 2pm from the lower level lobby at The Aquarena.

To give everyone an opportunity to contribute, money will be collected at 4 times:

5:15pm Friday at The Aquarena
7:00pm Friday at Bitters Pub
1:45pm Saturday at the Aquarena
4:00pm Saturday at Bitters Pub

All funds raised will be donated through the Canadian Red Cross.

Circuits Again This Wednesday

Our circuit training will continue this Wednesday 5:30pm on the Field House track. Last week we had 17 participants and we have room for 32 comfortably so feel free to drop by and check it out. Don't forget your $2.50 drop-in fee for the track.

And for you diehard outdoor runners there will as always be a few taking to the roads for the usual Wednesday night run.

Our team is Dave, Jenny, ~~Alexandra,~~ Shawn, Kelda, Steph, Alison, Dillon and Katherine ... Caroline is on stand-by.

Team members please wear your Nautilus singlets as there will be points for looking good ... hopefully next season we'll have jerseys! And note that if the 7-member team limit is enforced we will institute a shift system.

2011 Canada Games Mission Staff Wanted

The Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation is seeking enthusiastic, experienced people to serve as volunteer Mission Staff for the 2011 Canada Winter Games, being held February 11-27, 2011 in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

As part of the Mission Team, and with support from the Department of Tourism, Culture and Recreation, you will work to ensure all aspects of Team Newfoundland and Labrador’s preparation are in place, including, but not limited to: athlete services; uniforms; media relations; registration, and sport technical packages.

Qualifications include:

strong interpersonal, communication and administration skills
thorough knowledge of our Province’s amateur sport system
interest in, and enthusiasm for, working in a fast paced multi-sport environment
ability to operate independently and in a team atmosphere
ability to perform functions and duties outside of your assignment
extensive and varied experience as a volunteer

Print, complete and pop it in the mail with your payment ... just $25 gives you access to a full season of sanctioned events; plus you'll be supporting the continued development of our sport.

Note that there is a box on the form called "Club" ... be sure to write "NAUTILUS" in this box so your membership gets counted towards our club numbers. We have 74 active members but only 21 are registered as Nautilus Runners with the NLAA!

Eugene & Janelle Runners Of The Year

Congratulations to Eugene Noble and Janelle Miller who were named the Nautilus Runners Of The Year and our AGM tonight.

Both runners had solid seasons racing at home and abroad, excellent participation in group runs throughout the year, and both volunteered their time supporting club events and the running community overall.

Inn Of Olde Christmas Dash December 11

The annual Nautilus Inn of Olde Christmas Dash is Friday December 11 at 5:30pm.

Run one way from the Aquarena to the Quidi Vidi Inn of Olde (5.8k route HERE), enjoy a warm fire and a bowl of soup at the Inn. And be sure to tuck a few bucks in your sock for a beverage or two and a taxi home.
