These awards are the product of that effort:

President’s Award:

• Given to honor up to three (3) people who have been key to the President’s and the Chapter’s success.
• Given at the discretion of the Chapter President.
• Eligibility is open to all members, Board and Foundation members, and Corporate Partners.

Rookie of the Year Award:

• Nominee is a new member who jumped in feet first and became a visible, enthusiastic supporter of NAWBO.  She will typically participate in committee work soon after joining, attends most meetings and special functions, and promotes NAWBO in other venues.  She quickly becomes a resource for other new members.
• Up to five (5) eligible members may be honored with this award annually.
• Eligibility open to members who joined not more than 16 months prior to the date of nomination.
• Board members are excluded from eligibility for this award.

Unsung Hero Award:

• Nominee is critical to the growth and health of the organization, but may not always be visible.  This person helps others move up, supports and empowers them, leading from the middle.  She is a stabilizer and can lead through rough spots.  She gives back, works behind the scenes and doesn’t look for credit.  People look to her for guidance and are comfortable approaching her.
• Eligibility open to all current members.
• Board members are excluded from eligibility for this award.

Ambassador Award:

• Nominee is a clear advocate and community spokesperson for NAWBO.  She clearly builds alliances and forms coalitions.  She is involved in community outreach and is adept at pulling groups together.  She perceives links for potential partnerships and pursues them.

• Board members are excluded from eligibility for this award.

 Chapter Corporate Partner of the Year:

• Awarded to a corporate partner who has supported the Richmond NAWBO Chapter through financial, advisory, and in-kind services. 
• The corporate partner should be an “active and contributing” member of the organization, including having at least one representative at most events.
• The corporate partner should advocate for the NAWBO chapter – introducing new prospective members, speaking on behalf of NAWBO as requested, identifying resources useful to members.
• The corporate partner of the year shall have at least one representative that actively participates in committee work.
• Eligibility open to all current Corporate Partners.

Nominations will be accepted from current NAWBO members, Chapter and Foundation board members, and corporate partners.  Award winners will be selected by the Awards & Recognition Committee based on the defined criteria for each award.  The Awards & Recognition Committee is comprised of members of the Chapter and Foundation boards.

The NAWBO Richmond Member Recognition Awards will be presented at the upcoming Annual Dinner Meeting, to be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012, at the University of Richmond Jepson Alumni Center.

Since 2006, Computer Aid, Inc. (CAI) has been the Managed Service Provider responsible for overseeing all service delivery activities for the IT Contingent Labor (ITCL) contract for the Commonwealth of Virginia.  The CAI ITCL Contract is comprised of two separate programs:

•   Staff Augmentation of IT temporary resources
• SOW Deliverables-based, Fixed Price Projects

Between now and April 30, 2012, CAI will hold an open enrollment for companies interested in joining the network of suppliers who are able to compete for deliverables-based work under $2 million in the Statements of Work program.  Since the SOW program began in late 2010, $17,307,830 has been awarded to participating firms, with $7,145,078 (41.28%) being awarded to the Commonwealth’s small, women, and minority owned (SWaM) firms.
