Evolve Bodmin- sponsor of NCB Radio since late May 2010, today celebrates its first birthday!!

Everyone at NCB Radio would like to wish Dan & Mark a very happy first Birthday as Evolve, and also express our sincere thanks for your support as NCB Radio “evolved” from an idea into reality and we hope it will remain for a long time to come.

They’ve stuck with us since then, and even if they didn’t sponsor us, I would have no hesitation in recommending their service to anyone”.

Magical Magia joins NCB Radio as Sponsor

We are pleased to announce the arrival of another sponsor- in the form of well known local magical act Magical Magia.

Magical Magia is the act of “Magic Man”, a 21 year old HND student who has been performing tricks since the age of five.

The sponsorship deal entails advertising, sponsorship of our North Cornwall Under the Stars programme as well as a strategic partnership that entails cross promotion, a website developed for Magical Magia by our design team (and hosted on our server) and appearances at selected NCB Live events.

NCB Radio today welcomes Alive Music Studios and Open Telecom International on board as our two newest sponsors alongside our existing (and long serving) sponsor Evolve Bodmin.

As well as sponsorship, this new agreement sees the Brand New Sound of North Cornwall enter into a strategic alliance with Alive.

This entails the following: All new music produced by Alive’s record label Alive Music Records will be played exclusively on NCB Radio (on a community radio level), eight weeks before the song goes on sale to the public. In addition there will be programming alliances- an announcement will be made shortly on a brand new show being launched in conjunction with Alive as well as a multitude of other features both on and off air.

Aaron James, Station Manager commented “To say we are delighted to welcome both Alive and Open Telecom on board is an understatement. Not only is this an announcement that helps ensure NCB Radio is around for a long time yet, but using Alive’s facilities and talent base, we can ensure that North Cornwall gets the hottest, locally produced music and some absolutely brilliant programming over the coming months. I would like to say a huge thanks to our resident movie boffin Jonny Bryant for his assistance in making this possible, as well as Dan Kobale for his support by backing us as a project. He is also one of our “swing jocks”- so when someone is ill, holidaying or trapped in a cage with a six foot hamster, Chris is often found covering their shows (unless it is him that is trapped)

The Brand New Sound of North Cornwall is coming- and we’ve got 21 hours of live content to celebrate!

At 6pm on Friday 7 January, we launch with the NCB Launch Show- four hours in the company of some of our main presenters for great music, laughs and on air games. Then at 8pm we introduce our resident eccentric, Rt. Hon Justice H. Keystone who will join us in the Studio.

At 10pm we launch our show for those that love everything Alternative Rock- The Shallow Grave with Ray Matthews- two hours of the greatest alternative rock around.

At 9am on Saturday 8 January, the NCB Launch Party starts- where you can join most of the NCB Radio team in celebrating our launch- we’ve got show previews, on air games and laughs.

The brand new sound for North Cornwall, NCB Radio launches on 7 January 2011 at 6pm. Our programming will combine the trusted and often popular music variety of commercial radio with a community radio style presentation- we revolve around you.

Ben Pearson’s Monday Madness- Ben Pearson is the man behind the microphone with a show like no other. It’s mad, and its on a Monday.

We don’t want to spoil too many surprises, but are you bored of the boring standard weather reports? Wish it was something different, something that told you just the weather with no waffle? What about….a weather forecast using sounds?

Ben also has a penchant for knock knock jokes, in fact he loves them that much he puts his favourites into a “knock knock sixty seconds”. Yes, that’s right, a whole minute of back to back knock knock gags. Fun for some, torture for others. Not forgetting super tunes, something everyone loves.

Ben Pearson’s Monday Madness will be a packed two hours of great laughs to banish those Monday blues. So whether you love daft jokes, crazy weather forecasts, great tunes or just want a laugh, Ben is the man for you.

Bodmin Heritage Day, Live from Evolve!

On Saturday 3rd Bodmin celebrates its heritage with parties in the street, dancing, and various other celebrations.

North Cornwall’s BC Radio are going to be there to bring you interviews, news and all kinds of other good stuff throughout the day happening at Bodmin Heritage Day.

We well be broadcasting live between 11am and 5pm on Saturday from Evolve, our sponsor in Honey Street, surrounded by all sorts of technical goodness at great prices, so why not drop in and see us, have a chat and support our sponsor with your custom?
