The US Renewable Energy Sector closed 2010 at a record

$60.2B. It is poised to grow by 40% by 2015. This growth creates

tremendous opportunities on the business and technical

fronts. Four Notre Dame graduates who have transitioned into

the renewable energy segment will share their views on the

landscape and opportunities that present themselves to this

explosive growth market segment.

Executive Biographies

Thomas Rohrs:

Thomas M. Rohrs has been the Chief Executive Officer of Skyline Solar since

June 2010. Mr. Rohrs had been an advisor and consultant to a number of

companies, both public and private, including renewable energy companies

from February 2009 to June 2010. From April 2006 to February 2009, Mr.

Rohrs served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of

Electroglas, Inc., a supplier of wafer probers and software solutions for

the semiconductor industry. From December 2004 to March 2011, Mr.

Rohrs served as a director of Electroglas. From 1997 to 2002, Mr. Rohrs

was with Applied Materials, Inc., a semiconductor equipment company,

most recently as Senior Vice President of Global Operations, and served as

a member of Applied’s executive committee. Mr. Rohrs serves on the board

of directors of Magma Design Automation, Inc., Vignani Technologies Pvt.

LTd., Intevac, Inc., Seque Manufacturing Services. Mr. Rohrs served on the

board of directors of Ultra Clean Holdings, Inc. from 2003 to 2008 and Ion

Systems, Inc.

Tom earned his BSME from the University of Notre Dame and his MBA from

Harvard University. He currently serves on the Advisory Council for the

School of Engineering at the University of Notre Dame.

Christopher Vargas:

Christopher Vargas has been an internet entrepreneur since the late 1980s.

Currently, Christopher is with Aquacue Inc, a Los Gatos Calfornia-based

water management startup. After investing in, and raising their first round

of capital, he serves as Board member and works day to day with the

company.

He began his career as a Captain in the US Air Force from 1988-1991 where

he was Project Manager for building secure elements of DARPANET at

multiple locations around the world. From 1991-1999 he was a senior

executive at Cisco Systems, in sales and marketing. Following that, he

was President of F-Secure Ltd from 1999-2001, a Helsinki-based internet

security company, then CEO of Proficient Networks from 2002-2003, a San

Francisco-based networking infrastructure company.

In 2003 he founded Generations Investments LLC, a private investment

company. From 2005-2008 he was a member of The Angels Forum, an early

stage venture capital group in Palo Alto, California. In 2007, Vargas co-

founded The Cleantech Circle LLC, an early stage Cleantech investment.

Christopher was a Fulbright scholar to Finland from 1987-88 and received a

M.S. Electrical Engineering (‘87) and B.S. Computer Engineering (‘85) from

the University of Notre Dame.

Haresh Patel:

Haresh co-founded SCS Renewables after more than twenty-five years of

experience driving high revenue growth through sales at both emerging

and established electronics technology companies. SCS Renewables is

a leading technology and project finance consulting company for the

renewable industry. He has served as Senior Vice President of three public

companies: PMC-Sierra, Agilent Technology and WJ Communications. At

WJ Communications he helped with the turnaround effort that led to a

profitable sale of the company to Triquint. At Agilent, he managed a $2B

global sales and marketing team. During his tenure at PMC-Sierra, Haresh

built a 6 person sales organization into a 120 person organization with

revenue growth from $139M in 1997 to $695M in 2000. He holds an AEA

Executive MBA from Stanford University Business School and a BSEE from

the University of Notre Dame.

Mike Cerre:

Mike Cerre Executive Producer Mike Cerre is an award winning broadcast

journalist, filmmaker and communications consultant who started GLOBE

TV in 1985. His clients include the major television networks, multinational

corporations and new media companies around the world. From his Emmy

Award reporting for ABC News as an embedded journalist during the Iraq

War to dispatching the world's top photojournalists on a global assignment

documenting the impact of the microchip on everyday life on the planet,

Mike's passion for global "storytelling" has produced a variety of

unforgettable stories and engaging projects for conveying timely

information and strategic branding. Starting as a news anchorman/reporter

for San Francisco's NBC affiliate and a National Correspondent for ABC

Good Morning America, Mike earned four Emmy Awards in New York and

San Francisco for his reportage, plus the prestigious Peabody Award and

Cable Ace Awards for his documentary productions. He went international

by licensing the television rights to GEO Magazine from Bertelsmann in

Germany and producing the first global television magazine specials for the

NBC stations and The Discovery Channel. They evolved into the GLOBE Tv

series co-produced with ABC, which aired on A&E and foreign networks in

thirty countries. During the information technology revolution of the

nineties, he used his global consortium of producers and videographers to

help major technology companies communicate their global strategies. He

developed and produced the weekly SCAN series on CNBC for IBM's

Solutions for a Small Planet campaign and was the Editorial Director and

Executive Producer for the One Digital Day book, FORTUNE cover story and

CNN Special celebrating Intel's thirtieth anniversary. Mike made the

transition to the internet programming by producing EXCAPE, an online and

real world scavenger hunt for the Excite web portal with the creator of the

best-selling Where in the World is Carmen San Diego CD-ROM. It launched

his new media business which was acquired by Netcentives in 1999. As a

result of his various communications projects he has been invited to

present his work at the World Economic Forum, UN Foundation, World

Affairs Council, Milken Institute, Stanford Publishing Course and the

American University in Paris & Cairo.
