I just completed the story of Red Dead Redemption and let me tell you, it is an amazing story to see unfold. For myself, RDR has redefined how important story is to a game, and provides the perfect example of how this medium certainly can be considered art. If you enjoy a good western, do yourself a favor and play RDR. You will not be disappointed.

It was actually the second episode of the series; the pilot was shown a few weeks ago. After watching both episodes, I can safely say this show is definitely being added to my TV rotation. The show’s inspiration is simple: the buddy cop movie genre of the 80s and early 90s. Brad Whitford and Colin Hanks play a mismatched pair of cops demoted to what is essentially small crimes, but each week they somehow wind up in the middle of major crimes. Its goofy fun, with a healthy dose of action. If you want to add some laughter to your TV mix, I highly recommend it.

Lost – The End

Many people looked at tonight’s final episode of Lost as a last ditch hope for the show’s numerous questions to finally be answered. I can understand how you might feel that way. This show has built a tremendous following built on top of a rickety pyramid of unanswered questions and theories. For a time, I too needed these questions answered. The storytelling methods of Lost redefined how a television program can be presented and created ten more questions for every one they answered.

Recently, during the many discussions I’ve had with friends about how this show will end, I realized that these questions started meaning less and less to me. It became clear to me that these questions were created for one purpose, to provide us with situations for our characters to react to (I know, this is the very essence of a plot, but stay with me here). What is important is the character’s reactions, not the questions. I can easily dismiss an unanswered question here and there, as long as I see a new aspect of the characters I’ve been following for years now.

Having said all that, let me share my thoughts on tonight’s finale (spoiler free of course). As each minute ticked by, I found myself rewarded over and over again with seeing the characters I love go through the most inexplicable things ever. Were questions left unanswered? Possibly. More importantly, the characters grew in ways in the last episode that was not only incredible, but also very satisfying. Lost was the best show of all time. Its greatness will most likely never be repeated.

Leave it to Walter Bishop to weave an amazing musical journey featuring all your favorite Fringe characters as alter egos of themselves. This was by far my favorite episode of Fringe so far.

I hope no one considers me posting pictures of my yet-to-be-born baby’s twig and berries child pornography. It may be hard to see due to how much the kid was moving around today, but that there is my son’s 15 week old bait and tackle. The wife and I were super excited to see a joystick and buttons instead of the alternative. Now all the boy clothes and nursery decorations we’ve already purchased seem a lot less stupid.

A lot of people have asked me what I want it to be. The answer is easy, toys for boys are a hell of a lot cooler than girls toys. To be honest though, all I really want is a healthy baby. Well, that and one that loves Transformers.

One From the Collection: ROTF Bludgeon

I thought I’d showcase a Transformer from my collection. This is Revenge of the Fallen Bludgeon. This is an update to a classic Generation 1 character. Back in G1, Bludgeon was a Decepticon Pretender. Pretenders were Transformers that came with a humanoid shell that the robot could be placed into. G1 Bludgeon transformed into a tank and had a skeletal samurai pretender shell. For this new, updated version, the Pretender concept is long gone, but the tank alt mode and skeletal samurai is still in full effect. This guy forgoes guns for two swords, which makes sense since he is a master of Metallikato. I love this guy! This is one of my most favorite Transformers toys of all time.
