Registration of Marriage - It's Happening!

Dear Readers, prior to me sharing my experience of my ROM, please mind that this post is strictly for Buddhist couples and Couples from different state/district.

Neither of us are from Selangor nor Kuala Lumpur. In order for us to get things done real simple, we have chosen to run this wonderful moment within Thean Hou Temple instead of district JPN, as the application for solemnisation and registration of marriage either in church, temples or association don't depend on your IC address. Otherwise, get your IC address changed to your preferred district JPN :)

Our ROM is rather simple. Due to my heavy work schedule, Bee had to kick start the application.

Date. We visited the temple on a Saturday. Got our date set on Chap Goh Meh like 4-5 months earlier. Next thing they'll tell you, get your forms ready, and explanation comes later.

Form. Bee got our form from JPN, Petaling Jaya. Popped into their office right at their opening hours, no leave is needed. Please do not download the form, it's colour printed in A3 size! Fill them up clearly. We had the Commissioner for Oath affirmed the form as this step is only necessary when you're planning to held it at church, temples or association! Other than that, JPN is fine.

Details. Details for the bride and groom. One (1) witness each. Generally, we'll pick parents, or relatives, perhaps friends. No harm getting blessings from strangers too ;p

Submit. One passport size photo each for both of us. Paid RM20.00 for JPN to endorse the form, with the presence of Bee and I. Note, both to be present!

Hand Over. It's another weekend, we dropped by the temple and handover our endorsed form. They'll highlight to you your time of visit, to bring original IC for bride, groom and witnesses, couple's dress code etc.

Pretty simple? Now it's the part where the bride concerns the most - Coats, Dress, Tie, Shoes, Heels, Rings, Accessories, Bouquet, Hairdo, Make Up, Guest list and Agenda!

Ladies, my advice, stay calm :)

I use my white dress bought couple of years back.
Formal wear for Bee, pairing red tie with the cool black attire.
Match it with black heels (old ones too).
Only a pair of earrings (yes, no necklace).
Got ourselves a pair of gold rings (this is entirely up to you!).
Booked a real reasonable bouquet online from a florist within the temple (easy pick up, hassle-free!).
Hairdo & Make Up are done by a friend of mine. Simple, half-up, small curls, no, no fake eyelashes. Perfect!
Mainly our parents, siblings, close friends, some relatives, made up around 15 - 20 persons attended the moment of our lives.
Follow up with some photo shooting session within the temple area. A friend of ours did us a huge favour by taking photos throughout the ceremony, for free :)
Took them for lunch in a Chinese restaurant, chit chat, letting both families to get to know each other more.

Woo-laa! Done! Often see people tends to focus more on the application than the agenda of the ceremony. The photo shooting session was quick, that we had to split into groups for free and easy, and meet up only when it's time for lunch. So peeps, plan your agenda wisely!

My 2014!

Counting down to end this 2014, decided to drop by my this long lost blog, last post was back then in 2013. I'm surprised how time passed. Back then, I was busy working and travelling from the West to the East, then from East back to the West!

2014 has been treating me well, even up to this very last drop. Blessed!

One, I got called to the Bar of High Court of Sabah and Sarawak.

Two, finally decided to get back to KL for good, of course, to reunite with my love one.

Three, found a pretty great job. Loaded, but contended. After all, a token of appreciation of my hard work is awarded, what more could I ask for.

Four, move on further with my career, at least I'm progressing, learning, and in fact, improving myself to achieve a better level, more to come.

Five, met a lot of nice people throughout my career in Sabah and back to KL. People that cherish my presence, laugh at my jokes, appreciate my company, accepting me for who I am, work with me as a team. Peeps, I truly thank you for being there for me anytime, anywhere!

Six, my love proposed. Couldn't be any happier! We're officially moving a step forward for a better us. I know this won't be easy, but I'm positive about us. I'm just so thankful and grateful for having 'the Mr. Right'!

Seven, shared our good news around. Blessings are all over. Moving on with wedding planning. Lots to do, many to think and consider. Hopefully to have the time to share our experience here with you guys!

Last but not least, shitty things did happen throughout the year. And for every moment that I live, every breath that I take, I thank God for bringing me through the year, with love and faith, together with my love ones.

Thank you 2014! I'll fight harder with 2015!

Good day Readers!

It's been a while since I've last posted something. As I've encountered tons of questions on studying law, and seems like either education agent's information is not that convincing or 'consumer a.k.a. parent' refused to wrongfully spend money on sweet-talk sales, I'm going to share my personal experience on my journey in obtaining a law degree, all the way up to a legal personnel.

January - November 2007 (1 year)
After SPM, I've started A-Level in KDU College PJ, by taking up only TWO subjects i.e. Law and Economics. I've completed my A-Level course within ONE year by taking one-shot AS and A2 papers altogether in November. I'm not sure the requirements (for everything) now, but last I reckon for further studies, somewhat you need to pass your papers altogether, instead of splitting AS and A2 examination papers (that will be indicated in your certificate).

January 2008 - June 2009 (1.5 year)
After A-Level, I've immediately enrolled to a law degree twinning programme (2+1) with KDU College PJ - Oxford Brookes University. My semester started in January, it's some sort of express course, that will eventually merge the group to the earlier batch, that you WILL NOT get the semester break like the rest i.e. Jan - May, May - Sep, Sep - Dec, Jan - June = STUDY. Then I got my 3-month semester break from June - September before departing to UK for my final year.

September 2009 - June 2010 (9 months)
During Bachelor, I've spent approximately 9 months in the Oxford. I made my time real worth while, spent time studied, traveled around, picked up a part-time job in Starbucks, traveled, studied, worked. My advice, try to get a part time job, as I can't work more than 20 hours per week (Study Visa's Regulation), I got my time managed well for studies and networking with colleagues at work. I work for the money, if you're the kind that money is never a problem, still I think picking up a job is when and where you can expand your network.

September 2010 - July 2011 (10 months)
After Bachelor, I took up a course in Brickfields Asia College KL - Certificate in Legal Practice. Compulsory if you're not taking BAR in the UK, then CLP will be your only way to get your practicing license.

December 2011 - September 2012 (9 months)
After CLP, I commenced my pupillage after a long break. Intensive 9 months, you will need to complete a lot of tasks before you can be called as Advocate & Solicitor of Malaysia. I have more posts regarding chambering papers if you're facing any problem or question, try checking it out here!

So far, that's about it. I didn't really share everything of it but if you need to know more, can just drop me a comment or e-mail me.

Bare in mind, you can obtain a Bachelor in Law locally (Local Universities, External Course, etc) or overseas (UK, Australia, New Zealand, etc). The above is just my personal experience that I think it might assist you in anyway to decide what and where and when to start your journey:-

Chambering - Long Call

Happy New Year to all readers! Selamat Tahun Baru! Pu-tan-de-var-te-ke! 新年快乐！

Finally get to post something about Long Call, will share about what to do, when to prepare, and what to expect. Please find below in sequence...

Three weeks before your expected date of the end of pupillage...

Admission Fees - Payable to Disciplinary Board for the sum of RM200.00, Official Receipt will be issued upon payment, please retain the receipt for filling purpose. Note, payment can be done by way of cash or cheque, as for the name to be issued, please click here to enquire further.

Instrument - Payable to Bar Council for the sum of RM30.00. Bar Council will provide you a certificate-looking with your full name inserted in it for you to cross check. If you're name is confirmed correct, they'll get you to sign at the back of the instrument, then return for their safe-keeping till your date of the call.

Robe - Book your robe 3 to 4 weeks in advance. I've enquire the Kakak in Vince @ Wisma Straits Trading, there'll be loads of booking and upon my visit, she was changing the name tags as they're wrongly attached. She said that if booking were made earlier then it should not be a problem to collect before your call. Alternatively, I rented a robe from the Bar Room (5th Floor) in KL High Court for RM5.00, which booking has to be made in advance to check the availability, bib as well.

Confidential Report - To be sent by Bar Committee to Bar Council, then serve to Court. Consistently check with all these three bodies to confirm it's duly served.

Invite Mover - Get someone with not less than 7 years of standing to move your call. Must not be anyone from your firm. But so far as I concerned, they don't look like they know...

Long Call Speech - Prepare it in advance for your mover to have an idea on what to speak that day.

Certificate of Completion for Legal Aid - Obtain the same from your relevant legal aid.

Two weeks before your expected date of the end of pupillage...

Sijil Penampalan - Proceed to Bahagian RKKK and inform the officer you want to file your Sijil Penampalan, she will hand over all the documents for you to fill up the dates accordingly. Then you'll have to proceed with E-filling and extract the same.

Borang 7 - Prepare two (2) referees, you can get lawyers in your firm to help you with this. Be sure the referees you're referring to are at least degree holders.

Borang 8 - Master is supposed to sign this upon the last day of pupillage, well I got mine to sign way before that and definitely making sure that he knew, I'm a 'sangat rajin' pupil :) Was actually suggesting him to prepare a fresh Borang 8 changing the heading!

Borang 6 - Please prepare - Birth certificate, Identity Card, LLB certificate, CLP certificate (or any other exemption certificate), Ethics Exam certificate, B.M. Exemption certificate, extraction of Sijil Penampalan, two (2) Borang 7, Borang 8, copies of Sijil Perakuan Ekshibit. Note: If your pupillage commenced on 16.12.2011, then the date for the end of pupillage should set as 16.09.2012 (disregard whether it's a weekend or not).

Notis Perbicaraan - Find specimen in Bahagian RKKK.

Sijil Pengesahan Dokumen - Find specimen in Bahagian RKKK.

File Borang 6 altogether with your exhibits.
File Notis Perbicaraan.
File Sijil Pengesahan Dokumen, hand over your original documents to Bahagian RKKK for confirmation/validation purpose.

Expect extraction for both Sijil Pengesahan Dokumen and Notis Perbicaraan.
Expect date and time provided on your extraction on Notis Perbicaraan. Or obtain verbal confirmation from Bahagian RKKK.

Chambering - Short Call

Dear All,

I know I'm very late, and I'm so sorry for that!

As I've mentioned about the reminder to set your seats in ethic class, introduction session and also legal aid session, hopefully you guys have done it because there's a few friends of mine have missed some of those session and prolonged their long call date - very unwise! So again, please keep in mind these three sessions, prioritize these first!

Now for short call, to obtain an order to appear before SAR and judge in an open court and in chambers. Please make sure the draft order is ready prior your short call date! Sample of draft order is available in Bahagian RKKK in Aras 2. Or, you can always google it! I believe it's now in the Bar Council's Pupillage Handbook (I've received a latest version of the handbook so please check it out yourself, no more spoon-feeding :)

Most importantly, the no-objection letter from Bar Council and Bar Committee. As for pupils in KL, both of the bodies will serve on your behalf to the court, for the rest of the states, please double check with your bar to make sure it's ready to be served!

As attendance is no longer required, you can always choose to do e-filing in the office, provided that you have one. Otherwise, stick back to the manual filing in high court. By now, you should know how e-filing works in the court, so all the best to you guys! MIND THAT, it's always advisable for you to drop by Bahagian RKKK for a bit to let the Kakak check your order!

Again, please make sure it's filed, served and also filed your Afidavit Penyampaian after all the services to all three bodies.

No big deal, it's just the service of order. Just keep an eye on the abovesaid THREE SESSIONS!

Chambering - The Bar Council & Bar Committee

After your service of all Borang 1-5, and filing of both your Afidavit Penyampaian untuk Pemohon dan Pempetisyen, please take NOTE that you should be keeping an eye on the 'No Objection Letter' from both Bar Council and Bar Committe (be it in whichever State).

As I signed up myself in the KLBC, self collection is not mandatory but, guess it's just the overflowing amount of chambies that they couldn't be bothered to entertain all of us. Upon collection, mind that you have to serve it to the Court both of the copies.

Also bear in mind that you should submit forms for Bar Council and Bar Committee. If not mistaken, you're required to write-in a letter informing your education background to the Bar Council in Malay (well, that's what I did since their covering letter is in Malay), along with your LLB certificate. Then proceed with the payment of RM150.00 + RM30.00 for your ethic class. Prepare 3 pieces of Passport size photographs that're 2 for the Bar Council and 1 for the Bar Committee.

Remember call up Bar Council to register your ethic class, introduction session and also you legal aid session. Put yourself in the waiting list first 'cause by time it's your turn it might be way after your short call, perhaps long call. I'm still yet to receive mine, waiting.

It was confirmed by the Person In Charge in Bahagian RKKK that system on attendance of Short Call has been modified on 27.01.2012 that's no appearance necessary (Kehadiran Dikecualikan). So, till then, stay tuned on my next post regarding Short Call Procedure ;)

Chambering - Afidavit Penyampaian Pempetisyen & Pemohon

Good day, Readers! My sincere apology for being this late to update my blog, in fact I'm really busy with my chambering period, but I'll try my best to assist. Forwarding my previous post regarding filing of Borang 3, 4, and 5, here comes the post regarding filing of Afidavit Penyampaian for all 5 Borang. Hope you still remember my previous post on Borang 1 & 2, I didn't serve my files to Bar Committee and AG Chambers, eventually I serve it to all 3 bodies only after filing of Borang 3, 4, & 5.

Obviously, you amend your content of affidavit accordingly. What I did was I based on the acknowledgment stamp and time and did some changes. Key note, file in Borang separately, file in Affidavit separately also!

Same procedure:-

Prepare your Afidavit Penyampaian for both Pempetisyen and Pemohon.
Compile Afidavit Penyampaian Pempetisyen with Sijil Perakuan Ekshibit and the complete set that you file on Borang 1 & 2 (AP - 2 pages; SPE - 1 page; Set - 7 pages).
Compile Afidavit Penyampaian Pemohon with Sijil Perakuan Ekshibit and the complete set that you file on Borang 3, 4, & 5 (AP- 2 pages; SPE - 1 page; Set - 3 pages).
Get affirmation from Commissioner of Oath beforehand.
All set? Out to court!
Proceed to Counter 22/23 to collect a number for Express Filing (Finally, the court added another counter for less than 10 pages of scanning, wise move I would say).
Go to Aras 2, Bahagian RKKK, let kakak check through your documents before proceeding to do the scanning.
Once checking is done, go to Counter 22/23, proceed with the scanning.
Collect Notis of Pembayaran from Counter 17. Please do me a favour, speed a smiling face over to kakak, I think among all the tension she's going through, she deserves something extra :)
Proceed to Kaunter Pembayaran to make payment. Collect Receipt and Invoice.
Get back to Counter 17, submit the Invoice to the same kakak and collect the final statement.
Work done!

Please bear in mind that no service is necessary, till then, be patience and wait for your short call date! I file my Afidavit Penyampaian only one month after the filing of Borang 3, 4 & 5. But I strongly advice you NOT to do so! Get it done promptly! I'll try to upload the sample here, as the copy of both is in my office PC. In case it's on urgent basis, just drop me a comment with your email address and I'll get back to you asap.

Chambering - Borang 3, 4 & 5

It was easier now, as I've encountered shits earlier. I went on Tuesday instead, please don't ever go for Monday or Friday although your senior advised you to do so, a lawyer saw us complaining and said, "Lawyer has no sincere words." It's like a huge slap on our faces but true enough.

So for Borang 3, 4 & 5, I gave it a brave try, I serve only to KL Bar Council (instead of to all 3 bodies), BUT mind that I brought along my Affidavit Penyampaian! Note that I've made some edition by deleting the (b) and (c) which in fact I didn't serve to AG or KLBC/SBC. Same old same old:-

Borang 3, 4 & 5. Don't fill up in case you're not sure. Bring EXTRA copies. Print Service Bureau Form. (Note: No other extra document(s) needed!)
Prepare 2 copies for Borang 4, get your master to sign both, leaving one copy BLANK in case there's mistake (No Liquid Paper!) Explain to him/her why.
Head over to Kompleks Mahkamah Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Duta.
Get Number for e-filling purpose at Counter 23. He'll check through and request you to check first from Bahagian RKKK, just let him know you'll do so after obtaining one Express Counter Number, nicely :)
Go to Aras 2 - RKKK, let Kakak goes through all your Borang. Double check with her whether Affidavit Penyampaian for Borang 1 & 2 necessary or not. For my case, they didn't want mine.
After your Borang is checked and dated, proceed to Counter to 23 for scanning, along with your completed Service Bureau Form. Total of 3 pages to be scanned!
Proceed to Counter 17 to obtain Payment Notice.
Proceed to Kaunter Pembayaran to make payment of RM36.00.
Head back to Counter 17 to obtain Official Stamp Invoice.
Extraction Code will be provided on the Invoice itself, but it is advised that you wait around 1 - 2 working days to proceed to next step.
I got my short call date on the spot as the Kakak in RKKK checked for me, you may try requesting for one at your own risk :)
Get back to office and wait for e-mail from efs@kehakiman.com.my to confirm your Short Call Date and Extraction Code. Print it out and that's your Official Borang 3.
Proceed to make 3 copies and Serve all Borang 1 - 5 to all the 3 bodies (KL Bar Council, AG Chamber & KLBC/SBC)
Done!

I've done only until this stage, firm is running busy, so am I. Will be serving mine next week, personal service should be good enough, at least I experience it once :)

Free Transportation from Masjid Jamek LRT Station to and fro High Court with a 10-seater White Van (Not sure 'bout their schedule though).

Chambering - Borang 1 & 2

Approaching year end, the firm I attached to is so damn busy with their works and obviously, I was slightly being ignored ;( And thus far, I wasn't guided with proper guideline and examples on how to file in Borang 1 & 2. Therefore, again, I'm here to share my experience I've been through, from 8am to 5pm.

1. Get all Borang 1-8 either from KL Bar Council (cost you RM5), or someone in your firm a copy (free). Ask for Service Bureau Form from your firm or seek help to look for one from e-filling. Always keep EXTRA copies in case you fill up the form wrongly, I strongly advise you to do so!

2. Prepare Documents, all certified:

Identity Card
Birth Certificate
CLP/ Barrister Certificate
Master Profile (http://www.malaysianbar.org.my/legal_directory.html)

3. Head over to Kompleks Mahkamah Kuala Lumpur, Jalan Duta.

4. Get NUMBER first at the e-filling counter for E-FILING purpose.

5. Go to Aras 2 Bahagian RKKK - Let Kakak goes through your forms and documents (Total SEVEN pages) for you. (In case you didn't affirm the Affidavit Borang 1 from Commissioner for Oath, kindly do it at Aras 1 with payment of RM4 first, then proceed to Kaunter Pesuruhjaya Sumpah. It is strongly advice you do it beforehand as you might get it done for free.)

6. Proceed to Counter 23 for Express Scanning. Fill up the Service Bureau Form. Queue up for e-filling. This is to scan all the checked through documents.

7. Proceed to Counter 17 to collect Payment Notice after scanning is done.

8. Proceed to Kaunter Pembayaran to pay RM98 for your petition (RM80: Petition \ RM8: Affidavit \ RM10: Borang 2). Please make sure you have the Receipt with you.

9. Get back to Counter 17 to collect Stamped Official Invoice by submitting the Stamped Payment Notice.

12. Proceed to Aras B1 bookstore, Photocopy Kakak is an expert in preparing Chambering's document (4 copies of the 7-page document, 32 copies of Borang 2, 16 sets which consist 2 copies each).

13. Proceed to Bahagian RKKK to submit ONLY the 16 sets of Borang 2.

Back from home. One very short visit back home, merely that 7 days, short but it's a happy one, another blessed trip :) I used to share post regarding Tawau, but not much of pictures regarding food. This time round I'm going to drool you readers - Tawau food is Great!

干捞面 + 海鲜类
Kon-Lo-Mee

Thicker than meehon, but definitely softer than mee, chewy and soft at the same time! I think, there should be soya sauce and sesame oil in it. Hardly find it here in WM though ;(

Range of varieties, you can either choose 'wantan' or 'suigao', maybe sliced pork with chitterlings, sliced beef with tendon, or with seafood like prawn or fish balls. All at your choice :)

Tawau Style Laksa

Slightly spicy, totally different than Penang Style Laksa!

Fish Stew

Very thick in taste, the sauce can go with the 'kon-loh-mee'! Mm-mmm!

Lemon-Sui-Ping

The Hakka way of saying it - Lemon Sui Ping （柠檬水冰）! And this is not found in WM, such a waste! (Mostly with honey though, not my type!)

Indo Cafe II

Very famous Indo Cafe organised by Indonesian Chinese. Well, they serve really nice food, although I didn't get to try it but that's the rumor! We were there for desserts for almost every night!

Quite a lot to choose from. This is the 2nd branch in Tawau. Opening a branch in such a small town - Meaning real good! Sooner or later it'll be a place for the Indonesian instead, sad ;(

ABC Kosong

The same old recipe - Blended ice with sugar syrup and evaporated milk - Same old kids' recipe!

Pisang Goreng Cheese

Aiyoyoyo... This plate here is surely a CANNOT MISS kind of dessert! With brown sugar and cheese on top the freshly fried sliced banana - WooHooooo!

Mango Sago

Finely blend, with milk and mango, topped up with mango cubes and sago - Heavenly!

Finely Blended Mango with Mango Cubes

According to my aunt, they blend these daily with freshly picked mangoes with condensed milk, then topped 'em up with mango cubes. Well, it's anyway nice!

Pork Ribs

One will never missed this bowl of pork ribs. They used to locate at 'Da Pai Dang' and now second branch in Taman Megah area. Also used to taste so much tastier but now, slightly diluted ;(

'Long Di Mee Hon'

Same old, same old. Taste wonderfully brilliant!

Closer Look

It's actually fried meehon, wrapped up with egg, then topped up with pork gravy, along with sliced pork and liver. Pork lover, you shouldn't have missed this as well, be sure to eat along with the pork ribs' sauce, yum-yum-yummmm!

Tawau Style of Sauces

We prefer blended chili sauce, than those they use in WM with 'chili padi'.

I used to bring this to school everyday. Very simple recipe, a bun, with some cream, spread chocolate rice all over it, and taa-daaa! Missing it!

My drug. In case you missed my previous post regarding Tawau, I'm going to present this lovely drug here again *proudly* Looking extraordinarily normal kind of 'Kon Lo Mee Hon', and looking extremely normal kind of 'Pork Soup', but they simply taste heavenly! Don't judge it too quickly, taste it first and let me know!

Walnut Cake

Mrs Lu's special recipe! Genuinely from Tawau and Tawau only - Only if Mrs Lu moves herself to WM-lah! :D I tell you, this is best served while it's warm. Try toasting it with normal bread toaster, you'll end up with crunchy walnut and softly sponge chocolate chip cake - Beautiful!

Finally, my first visit to the book fair on board! Mii told me that she used to bring me there, but seriously I have no idea that I ever stepped feet in loh! Bangkok, Thailand (III, IV)

Sa-bai-di-mai! Meaning 'how are you?' Well, I get to learn this from a Thai friend of mine. Coming up to Day 3, I would say there's nothing much to share in this post, because we were shopping, shopping, eat, and then shopping again. It was at Chatuchak Market, Pratunam Market, Platinum Mall, and Indra Night Market! Oh I tell you, it's NEVER EVER ENOUGH! I love taking pictures, but I'm sorry when it comes to SHOPPING, pardon my craziness, I prefer shopping than pictures :)

Day 3

We went Chatuchak Market in the morning, left around 5pm in the evening, took a tuk-tuk back to hotel, quick rest then walked to Platinum Mall, through Pratunam Market. Not much of picture 'bout shopping, so I'm going to share what we'd ate! Before Chatuchak Market, we had breakfast at Thailand McD to try their pork burger, Uncle W highly recommended us the Samurai Burger, how can we miss it, right!?

French Fries

Looks big? They have size from S, M and L! The M they have there is our L. So accordingly, L is like XL to us. See that?!

Cokes

Even drinks as well, 2 cups of M and one cup of L. Also they're serving it in a plastic cup instead of paper cup like we do. Not wise, not wise...

Samurai Burger

Pork burger from McD Thailand, one thing that will never ever appear in M'sia, how sad ;( But nevermind that, this Samurai Burger here tastes more like a terriyaki sauce kind of burger. YUMMY MAX!

The Gorgeous Us

Haha, guess you know the plot well, after the breakfast, we went straight to Chatuchak Market by using the BTS Line, stop at the Mo Chit Station, Chatuchak Market is exactly at the opposite of the station. After the massive shopping fun, a group photo of the girls and our many bags of happy stuff :) Next stop, Platinum Mall! Nothing much 'bout shopping also, so only food it is!

Ms J was saying her cousin asked us to try Thailand's milk tea, there you go - My favourite! It somehow tastes slightly different from the one we have in M'sia, but I'm lovin' it!

We went back to Indra Mall for breakfast, tried this and it tasted exactly the same like the one we tried the first day. Not bad after all.

Bangkok, Thailand (II)

Ka-pun-ka! Thank you for coming back for Day 2! My pleasure :) As I was saying, there's non-stop activity after touching down Bangkok. Second day we had it free and easy. Once again, BIG THANK YOU to Uncle W for arranging a transport for us to visit around Bangkok. On Day 2, we went Bangkok oldest and original floating market, and also the Grand Palace. Then we visited Uncle W for lunch in a mall (totally forget the name of it!), we went on for dinner after a short shopping in the said mall :x, to a genuine Thai restaurant where they serve only Thai but not foreigners (Sorry I have to put it this way, they don't speak English). Well as Uncle W was there, he ordered the very genuine Thai food to enlighten our taste bud. Get ready yours too! - Oh, I didn't get the name of the restaurant, it was quite heavy rain that night, partly my bad...)

Day 2

Uncle W arranged us a van to Floating Market, far far far away that needed 1 hour+ to reach there from town. We were told that this Floating Market is the very original one with years and years of history. Also there's lot more of floating market everywhere but this is the very own!

As the van driver stopped here, I thought this is it, the entrance! So we were approached by one aunty that speak a little bit of Chinese, offered us 250Baht each person for 1 hour ride. To be honest with you, you might feel bad if you bargain for a better price as you might think this is reasonable - It is NOT! After the ride we saw a stall organized by the boss, with slightly cheaper offer. And the aunty that rowed our boat, took us for the ride of ONLY 45 minutes - Rugi max!

On Board

So basically, you're still on a 'sampan' and that aunty will sit at the end to row it around - Shopping on the river! Lots of shops, but mostly are repeating, mainly souvenirs. Food sold are on board.

Bargain, just bargain. Some ang-moh bought something with quite an expensive price, was then got shoot by another Asian to get a better price, they were so unhappy with them as they pity the seller for earning this low price. So, your say!

Coconut

100Baht for 4. Remember, bargain! We were too thirsty to bother ended up paying so much more! But! Don't forget getting few of these, Thailand's coconut is waaaayyyyy tastier!

I think this is made of coconut juice, smells and tastes so nice! Great to eat it warm but not bad when it's chilled. A must try!

They're so pro that to arrange and help each other to cross. But technology strikes so badly that some use motor boat, the machine blocked the river! Plus it's polluting the river! In case you're there, try not to take the motor boat, it's your part to maintain their culture there too :)

I don't know what's the name for this, but the white coconut cream there taste damn good lah! Can't really recall the price, I think it's around 20Baht for 5 pieces. This one, must try!

Big and huge souvenir shop runs by a pretty lady! She was there at the counter with a night gown - No joke! More choices, might end up with cheaper price. So better think twice before you get something there!

We left after that, short nap in the van, another 1 hour drive to the history of Thailand - Grand Palace. Please note that to enter the palace, you will have to wear shoes and long pants or skirt, clothings with sleeves to cover your sholuder. But what I would suggest is you wear casually, as they rent long pants for male and long skirts for female, for free! So don't believe others that renting a piece will have to pay 30Baht!

A quick walk in the palace, too hot to wonder around, rushed back to the van and drove off to meet Uncle W for lunch! So considerate of him, knowing us not having breakfast or lunch, brought us to a mall (remember me forgetting the name mentioned on top?) and had a Japanese lunch in Fuji. Then we shopped around till it's dinner time, he brought us to a Thai restaurant.

Looks normal but it definitely spice you up to Mars! With B the best 'spice eater' still can't take the spiciness of the dish. At the end, all of us gave up eating this! Sorry... :(

This one, Uncle W ordered 2 portions for us. It looks obviously ordinary, just a normal fried fish, but I can assure you, you will definitely order it again after the first plate - Freaking Nice!!!

I'm not a vegetable lover, and this is unique in taste, I don't know how to mix it with the papaya though.

Thai Style Otak-Otak

Uncle W mentioned the name of this is Thai, sorry I forget it again ;p But their otak-otak does taste differently, and real good in taste! Wonder whether they cooked it with the ceramic plate or not. Otak-otak lover, this is a must try!

Kang-Kung

Not-so-spicy kang-kung, very crunchy, not bad in taste!

Tom Yam Kung

I was sharing another tom yam kung picture earlier, this one tastes slightly different than the one we tried. We can't find a word to describe this, but this soup here is pretty addictive! Genuine tom yam kung, don't you ever miss it!

Thailand's pineapple is also another must try! This fried rice is so sweet and taste so nice and great in pineapple. I didn't get to try pineapple fried rice in M'sia, only once from Sunway Resort & Spa. This one is like rice growing in pineapple kind of taste!

Thailand style of fried pork. Taste a little bit like bak-gua. Quite hard to chew though, but I see Uncle W is like loving it so much :D

Seafood Glass Noodles

Just because we didn't eat up the first glass noodle, Uncle W felt bad and ordered this for us to try. Oh my the hospitality is so undeniable! We were too stuffed to eat further, so we just taste a little bit of this, very great taste in the noodles, and prawns at the bottom of the plate are so fresh and sweet!

Bangkok, Thailand (I)

Sa-wa-di-ka! Finally my Bangkok post is up! My sincere apologies to my dearest 'felen' for being this late, been really lazy lately! But this post is mostly on Thai food plus a little bit of shopping, few bits of group pictures and more in my FB :) We booked the air ticket a bit too late! Well it's a last minute decision on pampering us the pity exam candidates - Taiwan is a bit too far to handle - Bangkok it is! Shopping, food, and massage paradise! What more we can ask ;)

Let me recall a bit of the trip. First day, we touched down Bangkok airport. Special thanks to Uncle W for picking us up and dropping us down to our hotel - MANY THANKS! Settled down, we wandered around for food and shopping, of course! It was the Baiyoke Boutique Hotel (Note: Definitely not the Baiyoke Sky Hotel kay?!), somewhere around Phaya Thai Station, we found Indra Square! As J was planning to go somewhere in the main town, hunger held us back! So, for the first day, Indra Square!

DAY 1

I tell you, when hunger strikes, no joke, every food is so heavenly! But in fact, this plate is really damn good in taste! I think because they prefer sugar than salt for cooking?!

PERFECTO! This huge bowl here really, really, really, BEST! I don't know what word to use to describe this, we even came back again for the very same bowl on the last day! Full flavour of tom yam, thickness of san-tan, fresh seafood and vegetable. Aiyoyoyo... I'm going back to Bangkok, soon!

Pumped ourselves with energy, we walked around to find BTS station to go Siam. And Thailand is now so systematic! There are helpers everywhere, in the station even on the road! They taught us to switch station and sounded so complicated, so we decided to ask one ang-moh! His way of reaching there is kinda, simple - Take a cab! Haha very straightforward! Too bad it was raining so BTS it is - Ratchaprarop - Phaya Thai - Siam!

Finally get my ass down and start typing, simply because a short conversation that ruins my perfect morning sleep - Work.

I have always been thinking, what describes me the best, this morning it has finally came into my mind that I'm like a bird, but in a cage. I might be a bit better, like Blu in Rio, I tend to unlock the cage once in a while to set myself free but the final point, I still have to get back to my master, a.k.a parent.

It was 4 years ago I had this feeling and it playbacks exactly the same this morning. It was a family discussion on what's best for me to pursue in my future - Obviously it's supposed to be what I favour in. But turn out, it was what they think best for me. I never fought for myself, as a female in my big family, I don't get a say. That time, I stood up and said NO. Been staying far apart from Mee for the past 18+ years, it's my first time tearing in front of her insisting not to take law. I failed.

Come this far, I'm blessed. I manage to been through almost everything that torture me for every second that counts while I'm reading books, I've finally come to an end in my academic life - Till then, life still isn't going the way I feel like it. Being graduated, seeing her happiness showing through her eyes and smiles, I feel great - I made her proud. The announcement of result was out last week, I made it through, been so lucky - I see it again, she was so happy. But, am I?

Early this six, he asked me whether or not I send out any letters yet. I've everything planned up ahead to start working only after the vacation which is like, 4 months later, I was urged and ordered to apply for a job now. The guts came back to me and with my sleepy mind, I fight back again, I said NO. Not being accepted even by a bits, I tear again, quietly to myself, trying to swallow as much anger that I would, and walk it off. The second time of me fighting for my voice, I failed.

I do apologize for being so emo in this post but I have to. They won't get to see this 'cause they couldn't be bothered. Besides throwing it out, there's nothing else that I can do except pursuing my job search. I might sound so useless in this post for being so naive in handling matters, but you, has know nothing 'bout me, please don't judge me so quickly. Because this is what happen exactly to them - They think they know me - Bullshits.

Well, quite a simple dish, as the frankfurter is just a normal piece of chicken sausage - but really Great in Taste! And the potato mash at the bottom is real smooth and has that great butter aroma!

This ONE - Brilliant! With all those fancy names and description, I strongly believe only the taste and smell that count! We ordered medium well, the Chef did it 100% the way we want it. Besides, the beef's tenderness is totally undeniable!

Blue Cheese Sauce

Oh, the Blue Cheese Sauce, the very own recipe of Carne Y Vino! Strongly recommended by the Manager, a must try! This 5-star sauce is the BEST! I'm a cheese lover, very obsessed over cheesy stuff, if it's not because of this food testing session, I'm so going to miss this precious!

Crepe Suzette

Dessert! As per the menu, it says 'A crepe with eurre Suzette, a sauce of caramelized sugar and butter, orange juice, zest and Gran Marrier Liqueur on top, served with vanilla ice cream.' A refreshing piece, sweet and sour at the same time, some creamy ice cream melting all the way you sip the dressing, yummy Y.U.M!

Creme Brulee

Aiyo-yo-yo... My attention was 3 seconds off the table and ended up leaving this only! Not really a complete picture but enough said. Creme Brulee, one just so normal that it's almost everywhere now in most of the restaurant. But the Manager said they did it the different way for the sugar dressing on top, it's like a different crunchy piece topped on it - Delicious!

Okay, that's all for now! I was told by the Manager that she's organizing a food testing session for food blogger, but am I qualified for one? I hope this post might help! Oh yes, you might need more information from their facebook page!

Yeap yeap yeap, another deal online, this one is from Dealmates - Yokoso Ichiban. Well, we thought we had a great deal, one set of it, and then maybe top up with something else, you know, depend on the price. Turn out, we were wrong ;p

First glance, the price list of the menu hits us real hard. Even the normal Nigiri sushi costs us around RM 6++ at least! Fried rice for RM 10++. So, we presented the voucher and the waitress was in doubt, because we had no extra order besides the one we bought, and oh, we ordered ocha for RM 2.00 (even my favourite Zanmai only charging me RM1.00!)

Oh my gosh, I thought we really had a great deal and ended up we got this?! No joke, despite the discounted price, this few pieces cost me and you RM40, and it's located at SS2 Mall. Oh well, there was crowd but all of them using the vouchers, so... Your say!

So, basically each of these costs you around RM10. No doubt, they are fresh, nice and tasty. Unfortunately, I'm a budget consumer. In that case, unless they're having another promotion, don't think I'll step feet in again to this pricey shop ;(

Film Review: Changeling

A true story back then at 1928, a single mother and her only son, child kidnapper and murderer, and a bunch of hypocrite policemen.

Was eyeing on this movie for quite some time till my boy got it for me from the net, eye-catching and stunning shock true story, that is still happening among us within every society. Just that people learn from mistakes, not to correct the morality of human kind, but to learn how to hide and cover their asses in a better way.

Son gone missing, was then replaced and persuaded by policemen that another kid is her son, main purpose is to shut her and the media up, turn out which the mother refused to. The moment she goes for the press conference, the 'back door' tactic is used on her to lock her up to mental institution saying that she can't even recognise her son.

Isn't this happening even now at 2011? After decades and decades of time and days, human kind has developed drastically to the extent that, better to cover the ass up than helping or standing firm on the truth. No? For instance, the previous Bersih 2.0 rally, media and newspaper twist and turn the story of it and a friend of mine from Johor was actually blaming the opposition for being bizzare. For instance, the movie 'The Cove' as revealed the dolphin killing season held every year in Japan and that Government is still trying to cover their fault till date.

Like Changeling, they can persuade the mother to accept another kid as her son, so can the Government makes us citizen believe that it's all the opposition's fault instead of the police force. So, we're now reverted back to 1920s. So can the Government provides you whale meat but it's high-in-mercury dolphin meat, even endanger your health. No?

A movie about human rights, about truth being twisted and lies being promoted to the face of everyone, about human's cruelty, about us killing us. I watched it with heart, filling every bits of the mother's weakness and strength.

Baby bought us a discount coupon for snow ice in Mill Wheel, abandoned for quite some time, finally decide to drop by on the dateline to give it a try, to be honest, it was quite a disaster.

It was a rainy day, found a parking but the road condition is really bad, puddle everywhere! Went in, being ignored. Reason being is that there's a lot of people, and we were not even been served with a menu - Sucks!
Took ourselves one, waved on the waitress and being ignored again. Keep waving and finally got approached, ordered the snow ice we purchased via discount voucher. Our order is the third one, but being served the last one, ONLY after baby approached and scolded them twice, then they served us - WTF?! Worse still, their snow ice, is the main disaster of all.

Strawberry & Chocolate

Looking good? Special credit to my baby, this really did impressed us at first glance. With all the KokoCrunch, chocolate bites, choco rice, waffles, and strawberry syrups, despite the lousy services back there, we thought this should be nice. Turn out, duh! Besides the chocolate bites are crunchy, the rest are soften already, and the KokoCrunch with not coco taste at all - Sickening!

Mango & Watermelon

This taste slightly better, as they are not creamy based. But tasteless corn flakes and nestum cereal? It's already not much in taste and topped up with those, not wise!

Strawberry

This is the snow ice! I don't know how the 100yen did it, or some other snow ice shops made it, but this is totally Slurpee wanna be, worse still, it's just frozen powder, when it melts, we can see it so clear that the 2 elements are separated - Yucks!

Chocolate

Don't trust my comment or review? Trust your eyes. Perhaps, trust your tongue and give it a try, prove me wrong! See that bits and powders on the spoon? I'm like licking tasteless-cold-milo!

Water flows bottom down, chocolate powder sticking on the side of the wok. This ain't snow ice, this is powder with ice.

Jambo!

Sorry 'bout the late people, was really busy packing up back in London, to get home. Finally, step feet in the very old place of mine - Home :)

There you go, I'm here to share some of my trip back in London, after moving out from Oxford. My dad got us a rented Ford, picked my up from Oxford back to London, and then the next day a short visit to Aunt Jesse's fantastic farm house, up to Barnstaple, Devon!

It was 14th of June, a beautiful Monday, roughly 4 to 5 hours of drive, we drove up and down the hills, seeing left and right, only sheep and cows grazing on the huge huge huge huge fields, and the wide wide blue skies, the holiday mood is on!

Driver: Mr.Tan! Off we go, to Devon!

She too introduced us Mr. Barry, a large field owner! Fortunate of us, we walked around his 'property' and met Henry the Third - Hardworking Sheep Dog.

West Buckland International Boarding School, where Mr.Tan used to stay and study.. Very nice place, might be a bit bored ;p

Went to dad's previous boarding school for a short visit. There's a dramatic change of the school, it's stated that lots of people donated for the development of school.

After all, it was a wonderful trip! Essentially, it's with my family. I'm blessed with a lots of love. Barnstaple is really a great place to visit, personally. Still it's a bit bored for me, as shops closed really early around five in the noon ;p That's all for this topic now, more updates ahead!

Hello, hello! Another post of the day :)

This time round, I'm going to share my family day-out to Citta Mall! It's a public event created on Facebook by Wondermilk, to celebrate their grand opening at Citta Mall on the last July, guess this is their second branch after the one at Damansara Uptown. Well, cupcakes remind me of Cindy Wong, my Siao Za Boh friend who's currently in UK, a girl who obsesses crazily over cupcakes, perhaps, until the day she dies (I might be exaggerating but hell ya, prove me right Cindy!)

It was on the 10th July, a beautiful weekend, not to explore only Wondermilk but curious also about the brand new Citta Mall, so family and I, of course my love decided to drop by - for free cupcakes!
