So E3 happened, and we weren’t really that impressed (by anything other than Dust514). We ended up talking about how awesome!(lame!) Kinect is, despite the fact that Kevin’s is his sex slave, as well as pretty much everything that was at the assorted press conferences.

I’d like to apoligize for the quality, as I’m listening to the episode before posting this and it turns out Kevin decided to record at 5kbps with crazy satellite voices. I don’t blame you for not listening to this one all the way through.

Final Fantasy VII sucks and Phantasy Star 2 is a million times better because it was on Sega Genesis or something.
Kinect is really behind.
Kevin wants to have sex with the Kinect, confirmed(he even says he’s going to edit it out).
Kevin didn’t play Persona 4 for once in the ten years since it’s been released.

Communicast 3.07: Rolling Out Worldwide in Phases

The gaming world was rocked last week by the news that the Communicast had gone down. Not much is known about the attack, but apparently four hackers filled the podcast with shit. It is unknown at this point if any of your questions have been used for nefarious activities!

Kevin Murphy, head of the Communicast, had this to say “Whoever did this were fucking idiots! Except that Kevin Murphy guy, he sounds pretty cool.” Strong words.

Despite this downtime, the Communicast is slowly returning around the world. To make up for the downtime they are giving all five listeners one free extra special podcast!

Communicast 3.06: Kevin’s a Douche(?)

I don’t think that’s actually a fact, more-so Adushan is bitter that Kevin is busy with finals (or something else entirely) that he couldn’t make a post for this podcast.

This week you’ve got your regulars, Kevin and Adushan, as well as my main man Ben Stead, and myself(briefly). Highlights include:

Terrible internet connection, not knowing how to use a microphone/Skype, as well as my friend’s roommate bursting into the room and shouting “HEY”(may have been edited out)

Communicast 2.07: Always Bet on Techincal Difficulties

The usual crew records this week, albeit with slight technical difficulties in the middle of the podcast, where Zack’s internet (It’s always his fault anyways) cut out for a few minutes, but fret not! I have supplemented the gap with Duke Nukem’s theme song in celebration of the return of the king. Our sincerest apologies for having this podcast up late, all three of us have resumed classes and were caught off guard, we’ll try to make sure it doesn’t happen in the future. To make it up for you, we’ll have an all Duke cast next week. Some of the topics for this week include:

Meet Your New Communicast Co-hosts

After a long hiatus, the Communicast is returning for season two of tomfoolery and basement dwelling. While I loved the model of having new guests on each week, the logistics of getting 3 or 4 different people each week to commit to a single time was extremely frustrating, and sometimes resulted in us canceling recordings, which I wasn’t too fond of. So, to clean things up, the Communicast now has two permanent co-hosts in addition to me, in addition to having a different guest each week. This way, even if a guest can’t be procured the show will go on.

Who are the new co-hosts you ask? I had a lot of submissions, but I decided on Hawkeyed One aka Kevin, and AgingSkydiver aka Zack, both previous Communicasters. They know their stuff, they keep up to date with news, and they’ve proven themselves to be reliable and punctual. I’ve asked each one of them to write a little about themselves in case you’ve never heard them on the podcast before.

Kevin writes: Hi, all those reading this and who actually care about me. The name’s Hawkeyed One, real name Kevin, aka Murph. I’m attending Champlain College, majoring in videogame design. Mainly, when I’m playing games, I’m playing RPGs like Dragon Age: Origins, adventure games like Psychonauts, or random stuff like the Ace Combat series. To be quite frank, I don’t play shooters because I’m really bad at them. These days I’ve been playing a lot of games from the golden age, mainly because I didn’t grow up then, and want to see what the big deal about these games are. If you want to know, my favorite retro game series is Kirby. Anyway, you’ll be hearing me over the next few weeks, mostly arguing with Aaron and Zack about video games, and sometimes giving insight as I learn more about the basics of videogame design.

Zack writes: Hey everyone, I’m AgingSkydiver aka Zack. I’m currently a student at the University of South Florida, majoring in Psychology and Economics. I mainly play FPSs and RTSs, but I enjoy RPGs from time to time. I’m currently playing Bad Company 2, Team Fortress 2, and my favorite drug, Peggle. I play games almost exclusively on the PC, but I own an Xbox 360 and play it from time to time. I love reminiscing about the golden days of Infinity Ward before they butchered Call of Duty and the days when Ensemble Studios was still alive and cranking out quality RTSs. I’m glad to be on board the podcast, and looking forward to recording some great stuff.

We’ll record our first episode of the next season next week, so look for the return of the Communicast the following Friday!

Communicast Ep 6: No Fun Allowed

A terrible thing has happened to the Communicast. We’ve been purchased by Activision. The order came immediately that all fun was to be removed from the podcast. Which means that this week, we actually talked about videogames of all things! Also, you can now refer to us as “money shovelers” instead of podcasters. This weeks money shovelers include Mark “Junglistgamer,” Sam “Verygoodyear,” Zack “AgingSkydiver,” and myself.

Episode 6′s sterilized content includes:

Good games from the current generation which have gone overlooked
Metal Gear Solid games having no real story or voice acting
Metro 2033 having terrible shooting

Communicast Ep 5: The iPad

In what is perhaps the worst episode ever (I think I’ve said that before), internet vagabonds from across the world gather in a creepy backstreet alley to talk about video games. In other words, it’s Saturday. This episode sees talk of Pokemon, the iPad, robots and dinosaurs again, and the mind. I’m accompanied by five guests:

Justin “j00zt1n” Massongill, Negative Gamer Editor/Writer and Apple fanboy
Riley “Fallafelsauras” Polk, resident Canadian podcast asshole
Zack “AgingSkydiver” Samochin, someone insane enough to watch the Director’s Cut Lord of The Rings movies
Wesley “Wexx” Gaddis, a World of Warcraft addict
Myself, an embittered PC gamer with nothing better to do than record this dribble
And a surprise appearance from Shauna Blake, Editor at Negative Gamer. I can’t think of anything bad to say because she only said 3 sentences on the entire podcast, but damn were they meaningful sentences.

Communicast Ep 4: Gold vs. Silver

Thanks to popular demand, the Communicast is undergoing yet another change. In order to cater to you, the beloved listener, and you ravenous appetite for quality podcasting, the Communicast is changing from a bi-weekly podcast to a weekly podcast. Yes, twice the fantastic community fun!

This weeks episode has nothing less than an all star cast with Naughton, Riley, AgingSkydiver, Brandon, and myself tearing up the microphone on all things gaming. Well, in reality, it was more like all things nonsense with about 15 minutes of game related discussion. But in those 15 minutes, you’ll find discussion about Pokemon, more DLC nonsense, Bad Company 2, S.T.A.L.K.E.R: Call of Pripyat, the Microsoft Game Room, and plenty more. Also, dinosaurs and robots.

Communicast Ep 3

Our brave heroes have undergone a massive transition. Caught up in a fever pitch of revolution, they discarded the oppressive shackles of the “NGCCast” title and renamed themselves “The Communicast.” Credit is due to comrade Hawkeyed One for the glorious new name.

I’m joined this week by Naughton, Wexx, and none other than Brandon Ferris aka “RavenSan.” Episode 3 includes talk of Owl City being terrible, Heavy Rain, Press X to Jason, Minecraft, Wexx’s addiction to WoW, and much more!

NGCCast Ep 2: It’s Cold Everywhere!

Yes, the long awaited episode 2 of the critically acclaimed Negative Gamer Community Podcast has arrived. For those of you who are somehow unfamiliar with the NGCCast, we have community members on every other week to wax negative about all things gaming. In episode 2, I am joined by Naughton, Glassninja, and Hawkeyed One as we huddle around the campfire (microphones) since it’s cold in every state from Massachusetts to Florida.

This week’s freezing conversation includes talk of:

Nostalgia
Ubisoft’s disgusting new DRM
“Collector’s Editions” of games including game content or DLC instead of actual things worth collecting
The glut of macho-man military shooters in recent game development
