Why Swap?
Clothing swaps are a fun way to participate in eco-friendly and socially conscious clothing consumption! You'll be shopping sustainably with like-minded folk, having fun, scoring some fabulous finds all while your own pre-loved items will get a new lease on life.

Swapping Guidelines
Here are a few simple guidelines to keep the swap running smoothly:

You can bring clothing (except underwear), scarves, belts, gloves, shoes, bags, handbags, hats, ties, coats and other fashion accessories to swap.
Each item dropped off will be considered to have a value of 1 token. You will be given 1 token for each item you bring, for a maximum of 12 pieces.
Any additional items you want to take home will be $1.
Clothing must be clean, in good condition (free of rips and stains) with buttons and zippers intact.
If we feel the item is unsuitable, we may not be able to include it in the swap.
Keep in mind that all swaps are final.

Proceeds of this event will go towards further community events at Evergreen Brick Works. At the end of the swap, all extra clothing will be given to charity.

Trifted Houndstooth

I have been obsessing over Houndstooth prints ever since I saw them all over Stephen Caras runway show during Toronto Fashion Week so when I found this scarf at a local thrift shop for only $2 it was a steal! Sometimes you just need a different pattern in the form of a scarf or necklace to add something more to an outfit. This scarf is great for the summer as well since it is so light weight, I plan on getting a lot of use out of it. What do you guys look for a thrift stores?

About a week ago I went with my fellow blogger gals (Dee, Sandra and Tiffany) to the Beauty Board event in Toronto. There were tons of different brands there telling us all about their brands and what is coming up for them. I would pick a favourite but they were all so good and I especially loved how it was a mix of big and small brands. It was such a warm sunday and I almost wondered why I ended up wearing jeans (probably because I am a wuss when I end up being cold). Tiffany and I went on a little mission during the event to take some outfit pictures for you guys and ended up making friends with the firefighters across the road and got some pics with the fire truck! Being a kid again was never so much fun.

Spring Florals

My Favourite thing right now is going for a walk along the water near my place and grabbing some delicious gelato from the local downtown shop. It's so beautiful and relaxing and with it only being a mater of seconds away from my house it would be a shame if I didn't take advantage of it. The weather has been so nice (maybe not so much today or yesterday) that I've been able to wear skirts even with the breeze that comes up from the water. I'm just waiting for all the festivals to begin - that's when it really starts feeling like summer.

In addition to her in-person appearance, the 23-year-old actress hosted a twitter party to plug the brand, asking fans to use "#bongopops."After thanking participants for their questions, Lucy shared the event's trending success, tweeting, "Annnnd y'all are amazing because #bongopops went 1 worldwide. That's what I'm talkin about."

Marshalls Addict

If you read my blog often, you will see that a lot of my items are from Marshalls or Winners and that is because I am obsessed! I swear I go to my local stores every week or two just to see what is new. This doesn't mean that I spend a fortune on clothes every time I go, just means I like to go and scope out the deals. You never know when your going to find exactly what you want at that perfect prince range. I also find going out and walking around the mall/stores is first great cardio and secondly gives me inspiration for future DIYs. How often do you guys head to your local mall?

New Brown Wedges

On the weekend I hit up Marshalls (again!) to see what new stuff they had in and my mom was also down so she wanted to check it out. I always go straight to the clearance rack to see what deals I could find and I remember saying to my mom "There's nothing in my size!" Then my eyes went to these amazing brown wedges from Guess, they were marked at $45, I couldn't believe it. The same shoes were on the regular shelves for $69.99 (Guess Price $120) but these were marked down because of a little rip that I knew I could easily fix. Obviously I grabbed them and when I get home I fixed them up in 5 minutes! I am madly in love with them as they will go with everything in the summer and are super comfy to walk in and believe me I don't say that about a lot of shoes - that's why you never see me in the stilt like heels, I would fall over.

2013 Met Gala :: The Fashion

Last night was the Met Gala in NYC (How I wish I could attend just for one year!) and it was the first year they had a live cam that allowed you to watch the Red Carpet. It was hard to know what to watch with the Hockey playoffs also on. But with the Met Gala comes along great fashion....and some bad that I will get to after the good. The top trends that I noticed were bright colours and cut outs around the waist so you can beat these looks will be sticking around for the summer. (DIY inspiration - I think so!)

Ivanka Trump: I don't know why but I love the colour combo in this this outfit and with the added touch of gold on the belt and wrist it's the perfect touch. Also check out the shoes - sexy!
Kelly Osbourne: I don't think Kelly could go wrong when it comes to finding the perfect dress to wear plus Joan would defiantly have something to say on Fashion Police. If you look closely you can see the beautiful detailing on the bottom of the dress and I love the touch of yellow to brighten it all up.

Sarah Jessica Parker: Could Carrie Bradshaw really go wrong? No! If I could have her wardrobe and have a place to wear all these fab outfits I would take it in a heart beat.

Taylor Swift: Love this dress, and the beading at the top is gorgeous. I want to try a DIY no to add that touch to one my shirts.

Now on to some bad choices...
Ashley Olsen: This dress reminds me of that time I saw Lady Gaga in that pink/blue gumbo looking dress. Click here if you don't know what I'm talking about. Maybe it's just the pose in the photo...but it is a nice colour.
Kim Kardashian: I know she's pregnant but a matchy matchy dress...really? Some different shoes or not wearing those gloves would have made a huge difference in my opinion.

Couple weeks ago was my birthday (late on this post, I know!) but I thought I would share some photos of the weekend as it was an awesome time! I was surprised by my boyfriend who took me to Niagara Falls for the night where we drank lots of wine, saw the Magic Show (I still love magic) and a nice dinner and did wine tours all the next day before heading back home! If that wasn't enough my awesome friend called me up with an extra ticket to go see the one and only OPRAH!! How could you turn down a ticket to see Oprah? It was such a great weekend and secretly I was hoping Oprah was going to yell "AND YOU GET A CAR, AND YOU GET A CAR!" but it didn't happen!

I haven't had a chance to fully try these yet, but they smell nice and I like the fact that if you are not into baths you just just rub a few in your hands during a shower and use them that way. I also think it would be great to mix a few into your regular body washes once a week to achieve a nice exfoliate.

Jelly Pong: I never heard of this brand before, but I actually really enjoyed the colour - it wasn't to much pink once it's on the lips.

Boscia: The card said full size, but I got this sample so not sure what happened there but I'm sure they will fix it up. This moisturizer strengthens and improves your skins elasticity and firmness.

Pop Beauty Eyeliner: Full size product and waterproof! I got the Wine Wink colour (awesome name) and it's really pretty and has the perfect touch of glitter in it!

I got this pink skirt about 2 Halloweens ago to wear for a Barbie costume and have never really worn it since because I found it hard to pair it up without looking so young wearing the bright pink. When I saw this fellow blogger pair her pink with a navy I thought it was brilliant! I am defiantly going to sport this outfit in the next couple weeks as the weather is still warming up so its nice to still be a bit covered up. Lotus Leaf #PRESSDAYS F/W2013

Earlier this week I was lucky enough to go check out LotusLeafs Press Days for F/W 2013. Everything was so beautiful - some my style, some not but for the most part I liked everything. Cocoa Jewelry was one of my favourites especially since I heard Dina from Breakfast Television here in Toronto wears it all the time. What's even better is Cocoa Jewelry is available at your local Shoppers Drug Mart or Target stores and at reasonable prices. My other favourite item were the fall jackets, in the pictures below you will see one that has a navaho one with browns and reds - I feel in love with in and hope to get my hands on one come this fall! Also included were some new Dr. Martens, Rain Drops, Roxy and much more. Make sure to take a look of the amazingly adorable baby shoes - like seriously! I might need to get a pair for my new niece that arrives in 2 months! And last my not least, the Michael Kors Watches. They were stunning especially the gold and tortoise chain link, make sure you check out the photo of it below it's a beauty!

My moms friend gave me a bag of her old clothes awhile back so you can bet I was searching through everything to see what I could re-create. I loved this lace top with the details around the neckline, I ended up taking out the pink under layer of the shirt to make it sheer and perfect for the summer! You could easily find a shirt like this at your local thrift store to do the same thing.

A white blazer is a staple piece that should be any girls closet - it goes with everything and gives a 'fresh' look to any outfit. I love this look that I found on Pinterest with the denim on denim and the blazer over top, I would have never thought of putting theses together before. I actually ended up wearing this outfit to the LouLou Magazine Shop Till You Drop event that I attended last week.

I think this is a perfect outfit for the upcoming summer - bare legs and a light cardigan to keep you warm from the summer breeze. Navy skirts are a great staple to have in your closet as they can almost be paired with any colour and looks great with a pair of brown wedges or pumps.

Fashion has finally exploded into the office; women have hung up the power suits and shoulder pads of the eighties, they have tucked into the back of the wardrobe the plain black suit and basic tee shirt of recent decades and colour, flair and funkiness has come into play.

This seasons colours and must have materials are sheer, navy and tie dye – although the latter may be best kept out of the office!

Office attire is still formal but formal has become more fun. Colourful pencil skirts can be teamed with bright tops and completed with a decorative scarf. A bangle on one arm and a sophisticated bag dripping off the other and you are ready to hit the workplace.

But still an issue for the worker who walks to work is shoes, as nothing pulls down an outfit’s appeal more than matching it with scruffy trainers as you stroll into the office.

LouLou Magazine :: Shop Till You Drop Event

This week I went to one of the many locations where LouLou Magazine was hosting their Shop Till You Drop Event. The event brings all the major stores in the mall together and they each offer amazing discount from 5pm-9pm ranging from 20-30% the entire store and if that's not enough most stores gave you a goody bag just for shopping there. The first 200 people to spend $100 in the mall after 5pm also got a goody bag from LouLou that was valued at $200! This was their 5th year doing the event which was hosted at 8 different Cadillac Fairview Malls throughout the period of two weeks. The main area of the mall was covered in gorgeous clothes from different shops in the mall forming the LouLou Shopping Closet! And I would be lying if I didn't say I wanted everything I saw in it. In the main area there were tables where you could get your makeup touched up, have your nails done, get samples of Booster Juice, NY Fries and so much more that could keep you busy for the 4 hours that the event was on, and yes I stayed the whole 4 hours and was not bored!

During the event you could also spot the LouLou girls and ask for a code that would unlock one of the many safes that was in various stores. I was BEYOND excited when my code opened the safe at GUESS and I won $100 shopping spree with a personal assistant. If that wasn't putting my excitement level over the top, I also won the styling contest that they held at 6pm & 8pm (I won at the 8pm one) where you had 3 minutes to make an outfit out of the items in the LouLou closet. It had to be one of the best nights I had out with my girlfriends, and I highly recommend attending next year. You can check out my aftermath photos below, and with all those bags I only spent $150!

There was also a Kernels Popcorn Bag and Coconut Water but I was too hungry and thirsty on the way home!
