Below is a very brief comparison between Samsung Galaxy S2 and HTC Sensation.

I am a Samsung Galaxy S2 user. Despite its superior features, there are some drawbacks on this monster. One of the obvious disadvantages is the battery capacity. If you turn on the data connectivity for browsing and play games all day long on the Galaxy S2, its battery can only last for merely 7 hours or less. To extend some battery life, try using WiFi for internet connection. Besides that, changing to a larger capacity battery could extend the battery life to 10 hours or more.

Another problem with the Galaxy S2 is heat. Samsung had successfully shrink this monster down to less than a centimeter thick, but this also means that heat will be dissipated much easily to the external surface. You will feel a warm sensation if you turn on this beast to its maximum capacity for long.

Even though the Galaxy S2 has some major flaws on its design, its Super Amoled Plus screen is definitely the best screen technology among the smartphones. With much lower battery consumption, the Super Amoled Plus overtakes the LCD technology by its aiblity to produce a much vibrant and sharper image. If you do not catch what I mean, just drop by the Samsung store and compare the Amoled and LCD screen side-by-side. You will be amazed!

Samsung Galaxy S2 Delay in Release Date

Two tweets from Samsung Electronics' Twitter were tweeted. The most important is the first one which states "Samsung Galaxy S II will be first released in April, as planned." We can't go wrong with that. The next tweet says that the phone will be launched gradually to each market according to their local launch timetable.

We still do not have an exact date when the phone will actually make landfall but at least it is sure that it will be arriving withing this month.

However, there are rumors stating that Galaxy S2 will be released in June. Below is the statement made by GSMArena:

The Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II is a pretty powerful beast as it is with its Exynos chipset featuring a dual-core Cortex-A9 CPU and Mali 400 GPU. However Samsung obviously decided 1GHz is not good enough for their flagship so they are adding even more oomph to it.

The company's Estonian office has just confirmed through their Facebook page that the two CPU cores will be running at 1.2 GHz, rather than the previously announced 1GHz. That update brings the Samsung I9100 Galaxy S II to the top of the Cortex-A9 class, in pure computing power, at least.

It's a surprising move, we admit. We've never seen processor specs jump midway from announcement to release but that's obviously the case, The Galaxy S II official microsite no longer lists the exact technical specs of the CPU, so we can only assume something's cooking there for real.

Update: We just got a further confirmation from an internal source that the Galaxy S II CPU has indeed been updated to 1.2GHz.

What we don't know yet is how this new chip compares to the new Qualcomm Snapdragons, featuring 1.4 GHz dual-core Scorpion CPUs. We guess we'll see about that in a couple of months time when the Galaxy S II and the HTC EVO 3D will both be finalized.

It should be pretty obvious by now that 2011 is going to be as good a year for Android fans as 2010.

So, why in the world is it taking long for the South Korean giant to launch their first ever superphone to the market? They say it's because of a hardware last-minute-change-of-mind. Samsung thought that the 1GHz dual-core processor they announced that the phone will be sporting is just not enough for this superphone. Also, reports say that this will only apply to their own Samsung Exynos processor which brings us to another question. What will happen to those Galaxy S II devices that will sport nVidia's Tegra 2 processors? Well, I do not have any idea about but I do hope that nVidia and Samsung can find a way with regards to this hardware change.

The hardware change will boost or add the Galaxy S II's processing power to 1.2GHz dual-core awesomeness. This is supported by Samsung Estonia's photo caption on their Facebook page.

Due to this hardware change the phone will be delayed and the launching is expected to be "before June". I do not know if I should be happy with this news. What do you think about this guys?

Einstein and car batteries

ALBERT EINSTEIN never learned to drive. He thought it too complicated and in any case he preferred walking. What he did not know—indeed, what no one knew until now—is that most cars would not work without the intervention of one of his most famous discoveries, the special theory of relativity.

Special relativity deals with physical extremes. It governs the behaviour of subatomic particles zipping around powerful accelerators at close to the speed of light and its equations foresaw the conversion of mass into energy in nuclear bombs. A paper in Physical Review Letters, however, reports a more prosaic application. According to the calculations of Pekka Pyykko of the University of Helsinki and his colleagues, the familiar lead-acid battery that sits under a car’s bonnet and provides the oomph to get the engine turning owes its ability to do so to special relativity.
