After trying to “Quench” Hong Kong mobile enthusiasts thirst for anything Android last month with their 1.5 and 1.6 Android Quench mobiles, Motorola has decided to make drop another “Milestone” into the local market.

The new Milestone XT720 features Android 2.1 OS, a 3.7 inch, WVGA (480X854) display with a capacitive touch sensor, a8 megapixel camera with a professional xenon flash, digital zoom, and a 720p HD camcorder. Also don’t forget the thousands of free apps available for download.

While this all sounds impressive what about the price tag? The Milestone XT720 which is available now has a recommended retail price of HK$3,980.

Milla and Micheal Scofield take zombies down for a 4th time.

Just when you thought they couldn’t go to the well one more time kill any more zombies. Milla Jovovich is back (with her husband and director of the first Resident Evil) and ready to kill more zombies for you – this time in 3D.

This time she’s bringing TV stars Ali Larter from Heroes and the best brother in the world, Prison Break’s Wentworth Miller for Resident Evil: Afterlife.

And while we don’t have free tickets we do have something even cooler for you courtesy of Edko Films.

Afterlife 3D was shot using the same 3D camera system that Avatar used, making it an unforgettable action packed ride for the audience. Using twin Sony F35 cameras installed on the Cameron/PACE FUSION 3D rigs, Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D is also the first movie to use the Phantom cameras to shoot in 3D.

The Phantom, originally developed by NASA to study the minute cracks and stresses on Space Shuttle tiles during launch, was designed to shoot at 1,000 frames per second, whereas the average camera shoots at 24 frames per second. Unlike many other 3D films, very little of Resident Evil: Afterlife 3D is a product of computer generation.

In a world ravaged by a virus infection, turning its victims into the Undead, Alice, continues on her journey to find survivors and lead them to safety. Her deadly battle with the Umbrella Corporation reaches new heights, but Alice gets some unexpected help from an old friend. A new lead that promises a safe haven from the Undead takes them to Los Angeles, but when they arrive the city is overrun by thousands of Undead – and Alice and her comrades are about to step into a deadly trap.

The coolest thing that was shown at the Apple show is now yours for free! Epic Games showcased an amazing game demo for an upcoming game codenamed Project Sword and you could just feel the excitement race through Apple fanboy’s veins and the executives at Sony and Nintendo turn into that girl in the closet from the US version of The Ring.

So to freak everyone out more Epic has released the 82MB demo that you can download now to see the amazing graphics and get you totally psyched for what will no doubt be the biggest game app on the iOS platform in the Fall.

Unless you are a hardcore music lover, we’re going to say the Apple event that finished earlier this morning was a bit lackluster.

New iPod’s, a new Apple TV that doesn’t run on iOS and iTunes 10 with a new 80′s looking icon – the coolest thing was the Epic game demo that was shown but that’s not coming out for awhile yet. You can watch the entire event here and then come back and tell us what you liked or didn’t!

We liked the iOS 4.2 stuff that will be ready in November, and looking forward to 4.1 coming next week.

We’re not “gaga” for the new iPod’s, though the Touch looks pretty neat – how much thinner can it get?

The biggest let down was that the Apple TV, while cheap at US$99, isn’t running iOS (yet?) and is just basically a cheaper Apple TV (Down from $299) and it has a new wireless playing system called Air Play. Its available in 4 weeks in the US but we don’t see it on the Apple Hong Kong store most likely because there is no content yet. Apple says they have 6 countries ready for the content and more are coming – that would be a bigger win in our minds that we can get a lot of the US content here in HK with a HK iTunes account.

Streaming TV shows for 99 cents sounds great and will no doubt slap both Cable TV and Now TV pretty hard for international programs but probably not hurt the Chinese dramas market.

So all in all – a bit of a let down in terms of innovation as we wanted to play Angry Birds on our giant HD TV and control it with our iPad, but definitely good stuff there for the evolution of these steady cash cow products.

We’ll have to wait till November to see what pops up next.

At Apple’s event earlier this morning Hong Kong time, Steve Jobs took the stage to introduce 3 new iPod’s that pretty much followed the leak and rumors we’ve been reading for the past few weeks: iPod Shuffle, iPod Nano and iPod Touch.

New iPod Shuffle comes in 5 colors for HK$388 each with 2GB of space. iPod Nano has multi-touch and can be worn like a watch has 7 colors with a price of HK$1288 for 8GB and HK$1488 for 16GB available this holiday season.

iPod Touch is the #1 portable game player in the world – they sells more than Nintendo and Sony’s handheld game devices combined and have a 50+% marketshare with 1.5 billion games and entertainment having been downloaded.

The all new iPod Touch is not only thinner but has retina display and the A4 chip, 3-axis gyro and iOS 4.1 with game center and now front facing camera and Facetime. Its the iPhone 4 without the phone and the contract.

If you are like us, when Apple has an event we’re up into the wee hours of the morning to hear what Steve Jobs has to say – y’know because of the time difference. But because there is no filming allowed inside, we have to resort to live-blogging by sites like Engadget, TUAW and following people who are inside the event hall on Twitter – which actually does quite a good job. But because its just text and photos refreshing its like watching the keynotes from space.

It all changes tonight because at 1am Hong Kong time, Apple will be streaming to your iMac or your iPad (!) the big event! So stay tuned to www.apple.com for what will promise to be at the very least new iPod’s and if rumors are true – the next generation of Apple TV.

Thanks to Golden Scene, Splice is finally making its way to Hong Kong on September 16th. We like to call this movie the totally F’d-up version of Avatar.
