Valentine’s Day is in 1-week and so we had Emily Ma Richardson, founder of Flaunt Boutique in Central drop by to give us some tips on buying the lady (or ladies) in our lives something sexy and gorgeous that says sexy and not slutty!

Hey Guys – we understand. You want to buy her something gorgeous, luxurious, and of course, sexy, but walking into a lingerie store is pretty much up there with going to the dentist or the ballet. Even ordering online is a challenge – how do you figure out her bra size while rummaging through her undies drawer and trying to decipher the variety of letters and numbers? Let’s take the guesswork out of the equation and help you figure out what fits, what’ll make her feel like a million bucks, and of course, what you’ll enjoy looking at….

Do your research

Do some detective work and take a peek in her drawer. Try to find her most recent set either at the front of the drawer or try the laundry basket – this will be a good indication of her size. Find items that you like or similar items you want to purchase, and get the size on the tag. Bra sizes are usually a number and letter combo like 34B, 90B, 75B or 12B. Pantie sizes are usually XS through XL, or they can be numerical. You could always ask her, but where is the fun in that? Anyway, she will enjoy the fact that it is a gift that you got right. Reap the rewards.

Remember Who’s Going to Wear It

Go with a favourite brand – during the “find her size” exercise, see what brands she’s attracted to. Take it up a notch and choose a luxury item from that brand.

Of course you’d like to buy something you want to see her in, but if it’s too gimmicky or just plain uncomfortable, she’ll wear it once for you, and sadly it will find its place at the back of her drawer. Size and comfort will be important factors if you want her to wear it again and again! Remember, most women are conscious of their bodies, so don’t choose something too revealing. Tasteful coverage will leave something to the imagination.

Don’t be afraid to ask for help

Replay is the latest brand to open a new store in the area, and they are really putting their stylized stamp on their new location called: ONEOFF.

The “tailored store” is sized at 120 sq.m and was designed to honour the distinctive Replay personality and its love of nature. A key interior design element is the “enchanted forest” theme, where a large main wall has been covered in plants to highlight their support of eco-sustainability.

There’s something striking about this image from Giorgio Armani’s Spring campaign.

We attribute this to the sharp contrast of Simon Nessman’s dark outfit against a sterile and untainted looking beach. Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot under the creative direction of Giorgio Armani, the campaign sums up the men’s collection right down to its core; lightness, geometric patterns and updated silhouettes.

We’re especially coveting the zigzag pattern shirt and the generously cut trousers that are nipped just at the knee. Despite the dark colors of the outfit, there’s a certain subtlety to the entire image that we can’t pin down but can definitely feel.

Fashion design brand Nooka introduce its unique Rose Gold Collection for Lunar New Year 2012.
