Are you interested in playing in a band or putting together a live rock show? If you are aged 14-18 then Camp Rock is for you! The annual week-long music residential, delivered and accredited by Nerve Centre in partnership with the Education Authority, will give you the chance to join a variety of exciting teams and learn new skills.

With the Music Team you'll get to join a band, learn music together and write an original song. You'll also gain an OCN Level 1 qualification in Music Performance.

The Media Team offers a host of exciting creative opportunities, from preparing films about the bands and creating album covers to planning and promoting the live show, as well as managing aspects like sound production. Participants in the Media Team will also have the opportunity to join an OCN Level 3 programme in January 2019.

The dates for this year's Camp Rock programme are as follows:

July 2-6: West & South Area Camp (Gortatole, Enniskillen)
July 9-13: Belfast & South East Area Camp (Corrymeela, Ballycastle)
July 30- August 3: North East Area Camp (Corrymeela, Ballycastle)

As part of a summer of music making at the Nerve Centre, Set the Stage explores everything required to stage a sell-out show; from devising your own lineup and booking artists, to creating marketing materials and delivering a final event @ Stendhal Festival - three time winner of Ireland's Best Small Festival.

This project runs from July 9 to August 10, so whether you see yourself as the brains behind the next big festival, working in PR or mixing from the sound desk, Set the Stage is the place to start. Register your interest using the form below.

Kicking off a summer of music making at the Nerve Centre is Create a Track, where aspiring and budding musicians and songwriters aged 14-18 will have the opportunity to develop their skills.

Working alongside our expert in-house team, as well as top industry professionals in Nerve Centre’s state-of-the-art recording studio, three days of intense musical collaboration will culminate in the creation of a unique original EP for release in summer 2018. Canadian Drum Making Workshop

Immerse yourself in Aboriginal culture and craft your very own traditional Native Canadian drum with John Somosi of Sky Buffalo.

An enriching experience, participants will receive a drum frame made of cedar and use elk skin for the head of the drum. Places are available for creating a 13" drum at £140 and a 15" drum at £175. All tools and materials are included within the cost.

Participants will also share in traditional teachings about the instrument while being taken through the process of making one step-by-step.

'The drumbeat represents the heartbeat of the earth and is expressed in our songs. The songs are prayers and stories. In times like these we need to remember our cultural roots, whoever we are.'

The workshop will be followed by a talk on First Nations culture and the importance of the drum, and in the evening a Trinity of Rhythm concert to cap off the day's teachings.

John Somosi is an Aboriginal artist in Canada of First Nations Metis heritage. A craftsman, singer and ceremonial pipe-carrier, he follows Ojibway traditions and brings experiences gained from many years of sharing with and learning from elders from all over Turtle Island (North America), as well as time spent with the Aborigines in Australia, to his workshops.

Following a sold out show in March and playing support to Hudson Taylor at the Glassworks a month later, Lavengro take to the stage in their hometown once more this August.

With the release of new single 'Erase Me', the highly-anticipated follow-up to 'Think', the five cheeky chaps from Derry City are back with another banger. You will want to turn the volume up to ‘11’ with this track as its punchy electro-vibe will have you wishing you were on a night out on the tiles and dancing like a champion.

'Think' conquered the Irish airwaves in recent months, reached the Top 40 in the Shazam Charts and was named Joe.ie's Track of the Day.

They have also just announced a joint summer tour with ‘A Great Quiet’ and have so far announced dates in Dublin, Cork and Waterford.
