It means you have unlimited storage for your small images. It will  promote users to upload small size photos and share online. A Google employee “Sam” has  confirmed  this on official support forum.

We recently made a change whereby any pictures 800 pixels and under don’t count towards used PWA storage. The new GB numbers you’re seeing are the result of quota recalculations that were made.

Definitely  the resolution is too low if you use Google Picasa for backup your images. You will have to pay little buck for that if you wish to use more than 1024MB. Here is the current price list if you wish more storage:

As you seen the rates are too  competitive. You may signup for the extra storage. I wold like to clarify that, If you will signup for the first year and do not want to continue from next year. How to choose BSNL number:

Step 1. Go to http://sancharsoft.bsnl.co.in/auction/vacant_nos/choose_ur_no.html directly. You will find a map of India highlighting different states. Click on the image. a popup will appear asking to clink on it. Choose your circle link from the window if you live in an state which has more than one circles.

(If you are using old computer then after clicking wait for a moment. It may take some time to work.)

Step 2. On the page where you landed will see a slider asking to unlock the site. Drag the slider and unlock it.

Step 3. Now its time to search your number and lock it. However you will not find any 4 times repeating number but you may find a lot of thrice repeating number. After choosing the number user needs to lock his choice. Check the check box and hit “reserve number” button at just above the table. When you hit the button you will need to provide a mobile number on which a 7 digit pin will be sent. However, They will also flash the number on the screen. Using the same “Pin” verify it and lock it.

Step 4. After locking the number you will be required to visit BSNL customer service center (CSC) or a franchisee for documentation (within 96 hrs of generating). At BSNL CSC or Franchisee provide them the BSNL mobile number you locked and the seven digit PIN. After documentation you will be instantly provided the SIM.

By following these steps you can easily choose BSNL number.

Please Note:

• Confirming the PIN after getting is essential.
• You should must visit BSNL CSC or franchisee before 96 hrs.
• You can choose maximum one BSNL number at a time.
• This scheme is available for only prepaid customers.

Earlier, due to “verified by visa” and “Master card Secure code” has affected their business since PayPal do not support either “verified by visa” or “Master card secure code”. Not only this but BSNL will also revise the Pay per Minute and Pay Per Second plan. The Pay per Minute plan will be unified to 49p/minute and the Pay Per second is likely to be 1p/sec instead of 1.2p/second (on off net and STD)

Top Up voucher:

Now all top up vouchers of Rs. 100 will provide at least full talk time. e.g. If you recharge with Rs. 100 then you will get Rs. 100 as talk-time. Since their is no promotional balance so the whole amount will be valid for ever. However, they do not disclosed what will happen with Rs. 500 and above top ups and we may expect that we will get more on that. But wait till March.

If your Laptop is always on then you may use your Laptop as a mobile phone. You could use your modem as your phone. A voice call or SMS can be send from your laptop or PC. The reach of BSNL 3G is very high but many people claims for very low speed also on 3G network.

Another point is 3G tariff. In india their are only a few people who may afford 3G at this cost and the speed does not matter if your pocket do not allow if recharge Rs. 1000 for a few GB of Data usage. Until more tariff cuts the use of such device is impossible. How many people are their who wants to see HD Video from YouTube using a 3G modem?

I don’t think it really matters to use a 14.4 Mbps modem or 7.2 Mbps modem, until your network will really provide such speed. Beside this the modem seems decent if we look its feature.

Change DNS setting to access blocked sites:

DNS stands for Domain name server which acts a directory and enables your computer to find the site. If you are unable to access a site then you should change your DNS first. Change it go Google’s Public DNS. It provides fast and secure surfing environment. You would like to read this tutorial. Their are some other sites like DynDNS and Open DNS who offer the same service for free.

Use a Proxy site:

Proxy sites enables you to access blocked sites easily however this is not a secure way to surf specially when the proxy site provider is not trusted or you want to login or dealing with private information.
