The problem with most of the laptops today is that only few of them option to turn off the screen display when idle but for the laptops of the brand like Dell there is no provision. This led the author of this tool called “Turn Off LCD” to create an application for the same purpose. Turn Off LCD is an application in C# using Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. It’s basically a simple console based application that makes use of a dll(User32.dll) file from Windows using System.Runtime.InteropServices namespace and then calls the required function. Turn Off LCD tool turns off the monitor when run and resumes it when any key is pressed or the mouse is moved. The tool is free and small in size. In safe mode when you try to uninstall any software you will face the error with a message Windows Installer will not work under Safe Mode. So, if you want to uninstall or install any software in safe mode, you can follow the 2 methods given below. So, that’s the reason, they are equipped with auto update feature. But, somehow there certain tools which become outdated and we stop to use them as we replace them with another better tool. We don’t realize but that uninstalled out-dated tool becomes a threat to our system. So, today I will be reviewing a tool known as&#160; which will take care of these loopholes Secunia Personal Software Inspector. This tool will check your system daily and then it will compare the status of system configuration with the last time, when it scanned you system. It will compare the status on a graph showing changes per week. When a tool gets old or does not get updated with time then, it cannot stop the upcoming threats from internet and other means. As the virus definitions, keep on changing with time and so their attacks. These old plug-in and add-on become the weak spot in your system, which are exposed over the network. The main application window of this tool is divided into three parts, first parts consists of scanning the whole system. As soon as you install this tool, it will ask you to scan the whole system for the present threats. Then it will show you the report on the second section, here you will be able to see the threats detected in your system and the gap of time between the last scan and the current date. So, here I am again with a precise solution for your problem which is knows as Trix, this tool will solve your problems by assigning shortcuts to all your time-taking tasks. This freeware is a productivity tool for Windows Operating System, as it is loaded with many features which can make your task much simpler and less time taking. The size of this tool is very small which is 756Kb and so it does not get installed but can be operated by just double clicking the .exe file. After getting launched it will minimize itself on the tray and then you can use it from there. As you can see from the above snapshot that under “All Command” tab it can assign hotkeys combination to the different tasks which are performed frequently by you on your system. For example, if you want to see display, time, workweek and more then you will have to press just window key along with Shift and T key or if you want to open Yahoo page then you will just have to press Control key along with Shift and Y keys on your keyboard. Apart from assigning the shortcuts it can also provide other features such as opening your document with the help of human voice interface under “Listener” tab, where you will just have to speak out the content of your file and then that file will open. Sometimes while working on PCs, we do not have any keys on our keyboard which is allotted to control the volume of our system. And on Laptop, the keys allotted are too difficult to remember and to locate at the time of using them. So,this tool named as VolControl will solve this problems by assigning some familiar keys. The latest version of this freeware allows you to vary the volume control keys under a certain domain (which was not present in the previous versions). Initially the keys assigned were Win+up/down, but this time you can vary them as per your convenience. First option is to adjust the scale by which the volume will increase or decrease, then you have three different options which are show meter bar, start with windows and show tray icon, all these can checked or unchecked as per the convenience. Now, you the option to assign the hot keys to volume control, instead of Win key, you can use shift, control, alt or that same key Win and then instead of using up and down you can use many other keys which are available in the scroll down menu. In this version you also have a shortcut for muting your system, which was not available in the previous version. You can also change the effects, which are present with the display of meter bar. Under the animation option, the meter bar will fade in and fade out, whenever you will press and release the buttons respectively. Under the transparency option, the bar will not be visible completely but it will be transparent and least visible, it can be used when you are watching a movie and you do not want to disturb the appearance with the bar. The account is called limited as it has only certain features enabled while most of the admin features are disabled. The account is called limited as it has only certain features enabled while most of the admin features are disabled. One of such features is the CD burning option. This option is usually disabled for the limited account users but there are times when we want to burn some CD/DVD disk. For our convenience here is a method to enable the CD/DVD burning feature for the limited account in windows. This can be easily done by making some changes in the registry; however registry editor is also disabled for the limited account users. But if you can import some vbs script that can modify the registry in the backend, then your work is done. To enable the CD burning feature for limited users just download the script, unzip it and double click on the vbs file. Click Yes to allow making changes in the registry. That’s it you would be able to burn CDs in spite being in the limited account.
