Nagesh Kukunoor who gave us two back-to-back slices of inspirational cinema in Iqbal and Dor and then burned his hands with comedy Bombay To Bangkok now Nagesh enters a new zone with 8 x 10 TASVEER. Yet, 8 x 10 TASVEER goes wrong, horribly wrong.

8x10 Tasveer’ is the story of a young man with a unique supernatural gift of looking into the past of dead people. These inward trips, when repeated more than one can bear, elicit outward trips by viewers to the cafeteria. After all, if the hero needs adrenaline to stay alive, we need a shot of caffeine to stay awake. The film’s that bad.

So we have Jai (Akshay Kumar) living in with a girlfriend ( Ayesha Takia ) with whom he shares no apparent chemistry but whom he plans to marry. Jai has a unique gift of looking at people’s photographs and having a vision of the moments after the snap was clicked.

When Jai’s billionaire father (Benjamin Gilani) dies in an accident and a cranked-out detective ( Javed Jaffrey ) shows up and tries to convince Jai that his dead dad was murdered for wealth. This personal tragedy leads him to use his unique supernatural powers to unravel the mystery.

Armed with this photograph into which he keeps ‘going’ repeatedly, Jai digs deeper into the mystery even as the finger of suspicion keeps shifting from his mom and his uncle to two more characters close to his dad. There are so many gaps that remain wide open till the end.

Akshay pitches in a sincere performance. 8 x 10 TASVEER is a complete departure from the kind of films the actor is popular for and it only goes to prove that he's ready to experiment. Ayesha is natural. Sharmila Tagore is graceful. Jaaved Jaaferi is first-rate. Girish Karnad, Benjamin Gilani, Ananth Mahadevan and Rushaad Rana are perfect in their respective roles.

Nagesh Kukunoor seems to have completely lost it this time. As the writer and director of this sleep-inducing, ridiculously contrived film with half-baked subplots, he’s the one on whom the blame should fall squarely.

So many questions beg to be answered. If you are brave to sit awake through two-plus hours of banality. On the whole, 8 x 10 TASVEER disappoints. This tasveer is out of focus!

Expect the unexpected in A Wednesday. From the writing point of view to the execution of the written material, writer-director Neeraj Pandey never takes the been-there-seen-that route even once.

A Wednesday offered you twist after twist, throwed down challenge after challenge in those 1.30 hours. No sub-plots, no songs, no unwanted masala, no unnecessary tracks, A Wednesday has a story to tell and it tells most effectively.

The editor (Shree Narayan Singh) deserves lavish praises for giving shape to this thriller. During the finale specifically Anupam is driving towards the location, while Naseer is packing his stuff the parallel scenes are juxtaposed brilliantly. The background score (Sanjay Chowdhury) is stirring.

Naseeruddin Shah has delivered several remarkable performances over the decades and the one in A Wednesday easily makes its way into his Top 5 works when you recall his body of work.

Anupam Kher is equally dynamic. If there's one actor who could stand up to a giant of an actor, it's Anupam Kher. An outstanding performance indeed!

Every performance in A Wednesday is charged. Jimmy Sheirgill is first-rate as a volatile cop. Aamir Bashir is superb. Again, this actor has never got his due in feature films. It's our loss, not his! Deepal Shaw plays her part confidently.

Chetan Pandit, as the Chief Minister, is effective. Ditto for the actor who plays the main terrorist Kali Prasad Mukherjee. On the whole, A Wednesday is cinema at its best.

It may not be a Kinng-sized entertainer to lure the audiences in hordes and set the box-office afire, but A Wednesday does pack in king-sized punch. Do yourself a favour Watch A Wednesday if you have missed it.

The Indian moviegoer has often witnessed man-sexually-molesting-woman situations on the big screen. In this particular movie a woman is accusing man of molesting her.

The movie Aitraaz tackles the issue of sexual harassment, with the unique spin of placing the man in the position of victim and the woman as aggressor. The film casts Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles.

In the accused box of the courtroom, stands a man, startled and shocked that destiny could lead him there. He is accused of the most heinous crime - molesting his lady-boss. Raj Malhotra (played by Akshay Kumar), who works for a cell phone company, is popular amongst his circle of friends and work colleagues. But his world comes crashing down when he meets Sonia (Priyanka Chopra) again.

Sonia is an ambitious model with great aspirations. She knows what she wants in life. She is prepared to achieve her goals, whatever the price. Her fundas in life are crystal clear: Nothing shall come in between her wants and desires. Raj is well aware that Sonia knew only one way to live and that was her way. And one fateful evening, things did not go her way. Sonia brings Raj's world to a screeching halt. Raj's wife Priya (Kareena Kapoor), once a lawyer herself, is prepared to do anything to protect her husband's honour and dignity.

And from a content housewife, Priya becomes a woman with a mission that she must accomplish. She is now Raj's partner in more ways than one. Thrown into this web of deceit is Raj's boss, Ranjit Roy (Amrish Puri), who happens to be Sonia's husband. He is a mere pawn in her hands. The drama has just begun. The court is far from adjourned… Inspired by Barry Levinson's Hollywood flick Disclosure, Aitraaz has a plot that Indian cinegoers haven't witnessed on the screen yet.

Aitraaz belongs to Priyanka Chopra completely. No two opinions on that! Be it her first appearance or the sequence, Priyanka did full justice to her character in the film.

Kareena has a sugar-and-sweet character till the pre-climax and she does it well. Akshay Kumar underplays his character ably. Amrish Puri is alright. The theme of the movie is extremely provocative. Himesh Reshammiya's music sounds pleasant to the ears. Cinematography is first-rate. On the whole, Aitraaz is a well-crafted thriller.....

3 Idiots

Tere Bin Laden is a wacked out satire. The movie is Directed and written by Abhishek Sharma. Starring- Pradhuman Singh, Ali Zafar, Piyush Mishra and Sugandha Garg. It is a a high-wit low-budget comedy. Lead Actor Ali Zafar has considerable screen presence. His comic timing can put some desi khans to shame, he secrets a sharp sense of enjoyment.

Storyline-A small pakistani reporter wants to grab highlights, he dreams of a bite from Big Apple. So in order to do so, he sends a tape to Goerge Bush. The tape consists an Osama lookalike threatening mayhem in the US. The director has combined poultry jokes with globally-significant comments, it is an achievement. The actors portray some serious fun in the movie.

Pradhuman Singh is playing the role of Osama Bin Laden, he seems to have fun biting the bait.The script has good sense of fun.The movie's main attraction is Osama-Bin-Laden. Rating-2/5.

Every one was excited about the most talked flick of Mani Ratnam Raavan because the promos arose a kind of sensation among the people.It is well known that Mani's movies are not merely an experience, it's an event. Raavan is a modern-day version of 'Ramayana' whose screenplay was penned by Mani himself. The story movies in that way the cop (Vikram) who has been chasing Beera (Abhishek Bachchan) a tribal has kidnapped his wife (Aishwarya) and the battle starts between good and evil.

Between Ram and Raavan,Mani has also included the part from Ramayana where Goddess Sita has to give Agni Pareeksha same is with Aishwarya when her husband asks her to appear for a polygraph test to prove her chastity/fidelity.Some of the times Raavan is going to remind you the memories of the movie Jungle.If you are expecting some liveliness then you would be really disappointed to know that first half is really dull. Govinda's role is also not effective.

In other words Raavan is a king size disappointment, the factors that really pulls the film down are the madness of Beera he is like a psycho that really makes a mockery of the character itself. The make up has made the entire team look repulsive, the script is weak and as far as the plus points are concerned the main worth is A.R.Rahman's music very melodious and excellent, Santosh Sivan's cinematography creates magic.The dialogues of Vijay Krishna Acharya's hit you.

On the whole Raavan has got red as it is not for enough to reach up the expectations of people.

An outcome of Yash Raj films,starring stylish Shahid Kapoor, beautiful Anushka Sharma, Meiyang Chang and Vir Das, directed by Parmeet Sethi got three stars in viewers as well as critics ratings yes a wonderful flick called Badmaash Company, as the name reflects this movies has got the story of four friends well they are friendly neighbourhood guys, day dreamers who want to earn money as soon as possible.

They are ready for short cuts, they all want luxuries and fast life even they dont mind to become path breakers,the stuff named mandari (honesty) and izzat (respect) is senseless for them, Shahid does not want to live a life of misery like his father Anupam Kher, he becomes rebellious and forms badmaash company as Friends and Co, they expand their wings to abroad and start importing goods by stealing import duty.

Their short cut works out and soon they start playing with money, this makes Shahid egoistic, he leaves behind his mates but when totally caught up by situation he came to realize how wrong was he? Well this movie makes a merry viewing for you.

Shahid Kapoor does manage to hold your attention in certain sequences, but essentially it's the ensemble cast of Anushka Sharma, Meiyang Chang and Vir Das that creates most of the drama. Music is given by Pritam well all an all a god movie for a perfect chill and one time watch.Songs are also good but not chart busters.

Do you believe in spirits? If not, 13B would try to make you believe in them. 13B, a Bollywood flick is directed and written by Vikram Kumar, belongs to the same family as The Ring and Pulse. No, it's not a copy of these two films, but a home appliance is used by the spirits to convey their message.

13B moves around you in the proceedings and most essential part is that it scares you as well. 13B is stretched and takes its own time to come to the point.

Manohar the character played by R. Madhavan, is an upwardly mobile middle class Indian, moves into a new apartment '13B' on the 13th floor with his family. From the very first day in their new home, strange things starts happening in the family.

Director of the film has executed the material well. Dialogues are pedestrian. Music from Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is more of an intrusion. R.Madhavan does a commendable job. Neetu Chandra is alright. Poonam Dhillon is just okay. Sachin Khedekar is wasted. Dhrtiman Chatterjee, is first-rate.

On the whole, 13B is interesting in some parts only. At the box-office the film proved to be a scary proposition for its investors.

Rocket Singh:Salesman Of The Year

Bollywood flick Rocket Singh: Salesman of the Year is directed by Shimit Amin and produced by Yash Raj Films. The screenplay of the movie is done by Jaideep Sahni and the film starred Ranbir Kapoor, Shazahn Padamsee and Gauhar Khan in pivotal roles. The film got released on 11 December, 2009.

The movie starts with Harpreet Singh Bedi (Ranbir Kapoor) a salesman working in a computer company called AYS (At Your Service). Rocket Singh combines the common-man conflicts to come up with a compelling narrative.

Koena (Gauhar Khan), another dissatisfied employee, gives Harpreet a sales opening. Soon Harpreet Singh Bedi is found running a parallel business in the name of Rocket Sales Corporation with the help of other dissatisfied employees of the company. Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year is not a film that grips you but it's an impassioned effort. Rocket Singh starts where Wake Up Sid ends. Watch it, really.

The Bollywood singer-cum-composer-cum-songwriter-cum-actor Himesh Reshammiya had put up a decent performance in KARZZZZ after his disastrous acting debut with Aap Ka Suroor. The movie Radio is directed by Isshaan Trivedi and it got released on 3 December, 2009.

The film also features Sonal Sehgal and Snenaz Treasuryvala. The movie starts off in a way similar to Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone's film Love Aaj Kal that began with a break up, whereas, Radio has a divorce starting the proceedings.

Sonal Sehgal and Snenaz Treasuryvala are the two actresses who will earn more fame from the film. There's more of commentary in th flick than action. The song 'Maan ka radio...' which has been making waves for the last few months does not get even a decent footage.

Paresh Rawal's role in the film seems to be a case of a last moment addition in the script. Half of the movie is shot showcasing on R J Vivan (Himesh Reshammiya) in the Radio Mirchi Studios. The movie didn't have any genius plot. The second half of the film doesn't stand strong enough.

Somehow Radio is complicated. Himesh you have switch on to wrong frequency this time...

Chance Pe Dance

De Dana Dan

Priyadarshan knows the exact doze for laughter. With his latest comedy release De Dana Dan with a gang of Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Sunil Shetty, Paresh Rawal, Sameera Reddy.
For supporting roles Neha Dhupia, Asrani, Johnny Lever, Manoj Joshi, Chunkey Pandey, Archana Puran Singh, Aditi Govitrikar, Sharat Saxena and Rajpal Yadav were casted.
It's all madness, full on masti, a perfect entertainer; it’s a comedy of errors based on mistaken identities. For De Dana Dan the full credit should go to its crispy and crunchy script laced with punchy dialogues from Jay Master and Priyadarshan has executed the film with his masterly skill that makes the movie a real rollercoaster ride.

Akshay Kumar again adds charm to his character. Sunil Shetty is okay while Paresh Rawal and Manoj Joshi bring the house up and down. Katrina Kaif, Sameera Reddy and Aditi Govitrikar are more of eye candies, though Neha Dhupia does get to shoot off a few smutty dialogues.

With all this we can conclude that De Dana Dan is the best comedy of errors that we have seen in Bollywood after a long long time. Don't sit at home go and get loaded with fun now.

Blue is a Bollywood film directed by Anthony D'Souza. The film got released on 16 October 2009 starring Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Lara Dutta and Zayed Khan. playing the lead roles.

Blue which was an action flick centered around an underwater treasure. The film was written by American writers Joshua Lurie and Bryan M. Sullivan. Kylie Minogue makes a musical guest appearance in the film.

A. R. Rahman was the composer of the film's music with Resul Pookutty doing the sound design. The film is said to be the most expensive Bollywood film. Katrina Kaif has a cameo appearance which added a kind of suspense to the story.

Blue grabs the attention of the audiences from its opening scene itself. The marine life, watched on television channels comes alive within a fraction of seconds. Sanjay Dutt has acted well. Akshay Kumar steals the show with a brilliant performance. Zayed Khan has also performed done well.

Lara Dutta has looked stunning. Katrina Kaif looks extraordinary. Rahul Dev is first-rate. Kabir Bedi is hardly there. On the whole, Blue was style with substance.

Pankaj Sharma Bollywood's actor and director has appeared in some low profile movies like Mai that came in 1989, Tum: A Dangerous Obsession in 2004, Ek Hi Bhool and Sehar which got released in 2005.

Pankaj Sharma has also directed animated movies like Bal Ganesh (2007), which became popular with the kids. Pankaj Sharma made a sequel to this flick that titled Bal Ganesh 2.

Bal Ganesh 2 got released on October 23, 2009. Another directorial venture by Pankaj is Pangaa Gang that will be released in 2009 and this is also an animated movie based on a group of friends who fight the evil to keep their land safe.

These kind of mythological movies like Hanuman and Bal Ganesh encourages the film-makers to present stories from mythology in an animation format. Bal Ganesh 2, revolves around three different stories, all related to Lord Ganesha.

In terms of script and animation, Bal Ganesh 2 stands a step ahead inplace of Bal Ganesh. Bal Ganesh 2 comes up with the birth of Lord Ganesha and the confrontation with Lord Shiva, Lord Kubera's invitation to Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati and Lord Ganesha and Lord Ganesha's voracious appetite; Lord Ganesha taking the round of His universe.

The first story in the film is related to a cat and how Lord Ganesha plays a prank on it. The second story is based on Sage Vyasa. Lord Ganesha not only writes the entire book, but also translates it while writing it. The third story showcases the fight between Lord Ganesh and a powerful demon Gajmukhasur.

All The Best:Fun Begins

Sanjay Dutt, Ajay Devgan, Fardeen Khan, Bipasha Basu and Mugdha Godse starrer Bollywood film All The Best: Fun Begins is directed by Rohit Shetty who directed comedy flicks Golmaal and Golmaal Returns.

The jokes in the flick may appear silly, but who cares. As long as there's a smile on the face even after the show has ended, nothing else matters. All The Best:Fun Begins is one of those films which is made with the motive to keep the audiences entertained.

Fardeen Khan has played the role of Veer who is a singer by profession, and brother to Sanjay Dutt, who plays Dharam, a business-honcho. Like his previous films, Rohit Shetty's story is based on multiple characters.

But even with so many characters, the film tends to be free from complications. All The Best:Fun Begins is all about mistaken identities. Alongwith Rohit Shetty, Robin and Yunus have put in lot of effort to make the script watchable. Also Pritam's musical score is uninspiring and the songs act as speed breakers.

Sanjay Dutt plays his part well. The show-stopper is undoubtedly Ajay Devgan, whose comic timing is only getting better. Fardeen Khan has made a sincere attempt. Bipasha Basu is sweet, while Mugdha is just okay. Johny Lever and Sanjay Mishra are seen in terrific form. Mukesh Tiwari, Vijay Patkar, Ashwini Kalsekar and Atul Parchure lend credible report.

On the whole, All The Best:Fun Begins has unlimited laughter doze.

Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Ritesh Deshmukh, Jacqueline Fernandez and Saahil Khan starrer upcoming flick Aladin is directed by Sujoy Ghosh. Bollywood's megastar Amitabh Bachchan plays a genie in the film.

Visual effects in the film arrest your attention very well and are well executed. Sabu Cyril's art is said to be commendable. The music given by Vishal and Shekhar is fabulous.

Ritesh Deshmukh shines in his solo-hero role. Sanjay Dutt will be seen enjoying thoroughly such a role after a long-long time. Debutante Jacqueline Fernandez is an actual stunner, but can do much better. The film might still be worth a watch for a few amusing moments.

Mirch is a forthcoming 2009 Hindi film that stars Konkona Sen Sharma , Raima Sen and Shahana Goswami who will be playing lead roles. The film is directed by Vinay Shukla.

Filming of Mirch started in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The film is basically based on four short stories related with the issues of women emancipation. Raima Sen and Konkona Sen Sharma stars in two of these short stories.

Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is a strange romantic comedy film. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and Upen Patel in lead roles with Salman Khan making a special appearance. Some portions of the movie were shot at Ooty, Mumbai, Goa and Turkey. The movie is set to release on November 6, 2009.

The film casts are Ranbir Kapoor, Darshan Jariwala, Govind Namdeo, Smita Jaykar, Navneet Nishan, Mithilesh Chaturvedi, Zakir Hussain, Jagdeep, Akul S Tripathi, etc.
