Here is a really serious post. But it’s from my heart, after undergoing a lot of experience in this, I felt like writing about this. Read on and you will know what I mean...

Here is a truth that I have realized very late, anyway here it is:

When I commit a mistake, I genuinely feel sorry for my mistake. I sincerely try to correct my mistake and also try to ensure I don’t commit such a mistake again. This applies especially in relationships with other people. I know I sound like am preaching stuff. But it’s not that simple. When we are sorry for some mistake we commit, we should try to correct it, if we hurts someone unintentionally, a heartfelt sorry and care not to repeat the mistake will keep the relationship going strong. But the other person's reaction also plays an important part...

I love the thought:

“Never try to explain yourself to anyone. The people who matter won’t mind and the people who mind don’t matter".

It is important to understand the depth of this statement. It does not mean we can do as we wish, hurt whomever we can and expect no one should question us. The real meaning of these words is: Know yourself and trust a few good people to know you well too. Be sincere in what u do and avoid falseness in your words, thoughts and actions. The need to explain what we do will never occur then, even when we commit some mistake then, the people who know us well will understand we did not commit the mistake intentionally. There are some people who get hurt easily. We feel really sorry for hurting them and express our regret. In spite of our best efforts, if they are still angry with us, it means a lot of things. It means the person does not trust us and they want us to punish us for long as they think we have done them wrong. If we are really sincere but we are not able to convince them, we r truly sorry for hurting them, it is better to let go and leave it to time to heal the relationship or let them go in their separate ways.

Because, first n foremost, when they are angry with us, it is an utter waste to persuade them for a long time and convince them that we are truly sorry. Secondly a person who feels hurt by us has a lot of emotions like anger and intent to punish us. Sometimes they may feel that they have to punish us and make us feel guilty for long. When a misunderstanding happens between them, it causes an invisible scar in their relationship. If the positive emotions they feel for each other like love, affection, care are stronger, then the misunderstanding will not last long, it will die an early death. But if they are already affected by negative emotions like anger, distrust, hatred, revengefulness, it’s better for them to part.

I don’t know whether I explained my thoughts well. I just feel it’s better to be happy and make others happy and when we commit some mistake, sincerity in correcting our mistake is the most important thing we should immediately do. In spite of our best efforts, if still our mistake leaves a mark, just leave it. Nothing further can be done! Adios :)

Do you find the title of my post strange? Yes i know you do. Because, everybody has expectations regarding every aspect of their life, let it be their personal life or career. These expectations will vary from person to person, based on their character, environment, peer group etc. Even i have lot of expectations. But still i go against this basic fact of life and say do not have expectations in personal life, especially in relationships. I am speaking from general observation of life. There have been many times when we wish for something to happen but we end up disappointed when it does not happen... What we want to happen is far different from what actually happens. Take the example of friendship. People become friends because they understand each other very well and do not have any expectation from each other. Their friendship thrives mainly because they accept each other as they are. The relationships will go on well are those in which people care about each other and just wish for others to be happy. Expectations will only kill the relationship because we expect others to live as per our wishes. If we truly care about someone, we should be a strength to them and not a burden. Being a strength to them means understanding them, being ready to listen to them anytime and also willing to help them when they truly require help. Being a burden to them means having lot of expectations from them, getting angry with them when they are not like as we expect. This only puts additional pressure on them to be careful while dealing with us as well as the rest of the world.

Just close your eyes for a minute and think of a person you care a lot about. Reflect on how you behave with them. Do you show them you care and that all your wish is for them to be happy? Do you feel they should have the freedom to make their own choices and you will support them no matter what they do? Or do you order them to listen to your words and do exactly as you say? Just think which will work best. You will see the answer in your mind, whether you admit it openly or not. A person who thinks they know what is best for others all the time is making a huge mistake. It may be too late before they realize that the other person has opinions, thoughts and wishes too.

I came across this thought many times... "If something was yours, it will come back to you, If it does not come back to you, It never belong to you". It certainly does not mean don't do anything at all and see if you get back the people you wanted to be with you. :) It's only recently that i interpreted this thought so positively... It means... Do your best... Be a good human being. Live by some important principles. Treat others as you wish to be treated. Allow other people the same amount of freedom you feel you have the right to... Support your loved ones and friends the way you wish for their support. It is then you will see a huge difference in your life.

First of all, you will be determined to do your best in all the work you undertake. Second, you will be a pillar of strength to the people you care about. Your care will never burden them, but help them to be happy in life. When you adopt this sort of attitude, it will result in people looking forward to your company and truly valuing your friendship. Just try it once and you will see the difference it will make, not only in your life but in the lives of many other people. So i still say.. Do not have any expectations in life. Hope i conveyed the true meaning of this correctly... :)

My 24th Birthday ;)

Yesterday was my 24th birthday, an unforgettable day!!!
As we grow, life teaches us something new and we gain experience.
I was just thinking about the changes that happened to me over the years.

I must have to say how my day was. This birthday was special to me - special because until last year i was a student. But now I am a professional. Work life has given me another bunch of friends - my colleagues. Friday night i went to office and celebrated with them. I was so happy that night and there were no assignments too :) Thank you friends to make me smile :D
After my shift got over, i went to my home. Though awake that night, i coudn't wait to spend the day with my UG friends as am meeting them after a long time. We roamed and that was not the end. We assembled at marina beach around 8.30 pm and I was very eager to see the nick name they wrote on cake that they bought for me. They have given a name as "osama bin laden bilal" as i dint meet them for so long :D We celebrated till 10. Though it was raining, we had a galla time in beach that night :)

I have to say abt few of my friends who were with me for my last birthday but not this time. I somehow lost contact with them. At the same time, i felt very happy, when few of my friends with whom i lost contact gave me surprise with sudden wishes.

As year passes, i really could feel that am growing and could sense some changes. I also feel that I need some changes within myself. I thought of controlling and stopping few bad things like anger, etc etc and somehow by god grace, am coping with that.

Whatever, it was a great day. Thank you to everyone who made my day. Love you all :)

It was Wednesday. My shift got over and as usual around 6.30 am I was heading to my home from office cab. The cab stopped at a signal before the Gemini flyover. I was listening to the FM and gazing out through the window. Nothing actually caught my attention until the arrival of a black pulsar near my window. A cute college going chick was on the pillion and I was looking at her :) The girl garnered my entire attention and hence I didn’t bother to turn my eyes to the rider. He was busy waiting for the green. All of a sudden, the rider removed his helmet. Oh my God!!!

I was shocked and surprised. Though it is not such an exclaiming thing, the early morning encounter with such a scene was really unexpected. It seems that Chennai’s young ladies are opting for heavy rides to college rather than the light weight, ‘made for women’ vehicles like Scooty :) may be because they wanna portray a tough image and be unique. They are catching up with modern trends so fast these days.

Hmm.. The signal turned green. The rider gal put on her helmet, raised the accelerator and just flew in the wind.
