Plan to join us for good food, fellowship and games for the kids! A BBQ lunch of pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, baked beans, and macaroni and cheese and will be served from noon-1pm.

Pick up a lunch ticket ($7/person or $20/family of 4+) at the Event Tent on Sunday! Once you pull into Lakes Park, follow the New Hope signs to the covered pavilion.

The instrument’s bridge was broken and dangling by its strings. He asked what the instrument might be worth. Everyone laughed, and most thought no more than ten or twenty bucks. Then Smalley looked inside the body of the violin and read an inscription: “1723 Antonin Stradivarius”. There was an audible gasp as the crowd recognized just how valuable it was (about $100,000 at the time). Then Dr. Smalley asked them, “What if you treated every person in your family with the same sense of value? What if you saw ‘made in the image of God’ when you looked at others?”

This month we are learning about Honor, which is “letting someone know you see how valuable they are.” At the heart of honoring others is how we honor God. If we see the people around us as created by God in His image, then honoring them is the best way to honor our Creator. So why is there so much devaluing of other people?
Sin has wired us to put ourselves first and marred the reflection of God in us. But what if we were to be intentional in our lives and teach our children how to choose humility and, like Jesus, put others first? Romans 12:10 says, “Love each other deeply. Honor others more than yourselves.” If we learned to follow God’s design to show honor: in how we listen to and respect those who are over us, in how we treat others, in seeing those who are overlooked, and in honoring God in our actions? We might just change our world.
