New Moon Girl Emma was nominated by a friend because she’s a great role model!

The girls featured in NMG’s 25 Beautiful Girls come from all different backgrounds and have all sorts of interests. Some love school, some love animals, and some love sports, but the great thing about all of the Beautiful Girls is that they have made a positive impact on the people who nominated them!

We all have special girls and women in our lives, and Beautiful Girls is a fun way to celebrate everything that is great about them! You can nominate any outstanding girl or woman you know – your friends, your mom, your sister, your grandma, your teacher – any girl or woman has a chance to be featured!

calling herself a nerd. One of the beautiful things about Lily is that she raised $365 for her school by doing a Read-a-Thon. After that, “her enthusiasm inspired her little brother to participate, and together they earned over $600 for new library books.”

One of the girls recently featured online is Olivia. She was nominated by her sister because she admires her strength. Olivia has juvenile arthritis, which can make it painful for her to move at times. Her sister explains, “Even though she sometimes has a hard time doing physical activities when her joints hurt, she still does her very best”.

Another girl featured online is Emma, who was nominated by one of her friends because she “knows how to live life, and live it to the fullest”. Emma is known for being a great role model and a great friend, and has shown others that it does not matter if you’re popular!

Whether you have been writing poems for years or you have never written a poem at all, writing a poem can be a creative way to put your thoughts on paper. Writing poetry lets you explore different ways of saying things, and there are all sorts of different types of poems you can try to write!

Sometimes, people think that the words in poems have to rhyme. This is not true! While many poems have rhyming words, not all do. One type of poem that does not rhyme is a haiku. A haiku is a Japanese style of poetry that uses only 17 syllables in the entire poem!

In Dina’s poem, A Haiku, she describes how to write a haiku and also provides an example of a haiku she has written. Sara also has some examples of haiku poetry that she wrote about animals. If you browse through New Moon’s Poetry page, you might find even more girl-created examples of haiku poems!

Of course, there are many other types of poems you can write, and sometimes the great thing about poetry is that it does not have to have any form at all. A poem could be a few pages long or it could be a few words long, but as long as it allows you to express yourself, there are no rules to how it needs to be formed!

In her story about Poetry Month, Alexa talks about how she loves the fact that there are no limitations to what she puts in her poetry. She mentions that some of the most famous poems in the world did not follow any certain rules, so your poems don’t have to either!

One of the perks of writing poetry is that you can submit it to the Poetry Page on NewMoon.com. When you put your poetry online, other New Moon Girls are able to see it and comment it, so you can get feedback about your work! One thing to remember when writing poetry is that it should be what you want it to be! Poems are a great way to let your emotions out and you should be able to write without worrying what others may think of it. The most important thing is to have fun and enjoy yourself while writing!
