popper</title><atom:summary>no, i didn't misspell it.  i've been thinking about fishing in the new river lately and giving the smallmouth's there something to nibble at.so i gave tying a big bass popper a shot.  i took some #6 hooks out of my tackle box and then cut up an old cork.2 pictures, one is so you can see the comparison next to a small panfish popper.  again, they're not too pretty, okay sized largmouth.it's tough to tell how big he is, but if you compare the size of the popper in his mouth versus the bluegill, you can kinda get an idea.then it started to rain so i waited it out a bit and then when it was down to a drizzle, i hopped back on the moped and headed for
