Following successful and discreet military diplomacy that reportedly helped broker a US–Iran peace agreement, the hashtag ‘Nobel Peace Prize for Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’ surged to the top of X (formerly Twitter).

According to media reports, Pakistan’s deft diplomatic role in the historic accord surprised the international community and drew widespread acclaim for the country’s political and military leadership, both at home and abroad.

In the aftermath of this diplomatic breakthrough, appreciative hashtags honoring Syed Asim Munir dominated the social feed. Users lauded the army chief’s statesmanship and diplomatic skill, styling him ‘Field Marshal Asim Munir’ and urging the Nobel Committee to recognize what many described as his pivotal contribution to global peace.

An intense exchange of fire erupted near Attock between the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and suspected terrorists, leaving five terrorists dead.

According to a CTD spokesperson, the operation was a targeted raid intended to apprehend the suspects.

Investigators say the suspects had completed planning attacks in various parts of Punjab. From the possession of the slain terrorists, authorities recovered a suicide vest, a hand grenade, two submachine guns (SMGs), ammunition, and additional explosive material.

The CTD spokesperson added that the process of identifying the deceased is ongoing.

Iran and the United States have reached a memorandum of understanding to end more than 100 days of relentless fighting.

Tehran says the agreement also covers Lebanon, which has been subjected to intense Israeli bombardment since March 2.

Brokered by Pakistan and Qatar, the deal will be formally signed in the Swiss city of Geneva on Friday.

US President Donald Trump said the Strait of Hormuz, which had been under a de facto Iranian blockade, will reopen to all shipping on Friday; meanwhile Tehran announced that the US naval blockade of its ports will be lifted immediately.

The conflict erupted after the US and Israel launched attacks on Iran on February 28 amid fraught negotiations over Tehran’s nuclear programme, a confrontation that sparked a global energy crisis.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who has been shepherding indirect talks between Tehran and Washington, announced the development on X on Sunday.

Sharif said a “permanent termination of military operations on all fronts” had been agreed upon, explicitly including Lebanon.

Former President Donald Trump confirmed the report in a post on Truth Social soon after, writing: “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete.” In his post he said the agreement fully authorises “the toll-free opening of the Strait of Hormuz” and, at the same time, “the immediate removal of the United States naval blockade.”

Earlier, Trump told The Washington Post he planned to announce a US–Iran agreement “imminently,” and the paper reported that he said the pact would be signed electronically, either by him or by Vice President J.D. Vance. Later on Sunday, Trump told The New York Times that the US could resume military operations or become “the guardian of the Middle East” in exchange for 20 percent of the region’s revenues; it was not clear whether that interview was conducted before or after the agreement was made public.

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio congratulated Trump on the announcement and noted it arrived on the president’s birthday. “America is lucky to have a leader with such incredible courage, remarkable strength, an unmatched sense of humor, and an unparalleled love of country. Happy Birthday, Mr. President!” Rubio wrote on X.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced a historic breakthrough: after marathon, intensive negotiations, a comprehensive agreement between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran to end the war has been reached.

“Following intensive talks, we are pleased to announce that the Peace Deal between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran has been REACHED,” he wrote on X, conveying relief and cautious optimism.

“Both sides have declared the immediate and permanent termination of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon,” he added, suggesting the prospect of a long-awaited, fragile calm across the region.

US President Donald Trump has confirmed Pakistan’s report that the United States and Iran have reached a deal.

“The deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete,” he wrote on Truth Social.

“I hereby fully authorize the toll-free opening of the Strait of Hormuz and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States naval blockade,” he added.

Iran’s state television announced that a deal had been reached between Iran and the US, citing a statement by Pakistan’s prime minister. In its bulletin the presenter said the US “was forced to sign an agreement to end the war with the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Resistance Front.” State TV and several Iranian outlets framed the agreement as a victory for Iran; however, no Iranian official has yet publicly confirmed the arrangement.

انتظامیہ کا کہنا ہے کہ نیپا اسپتال میں ایم پاکس کے 7 کیسز رپورٹ ہوئے، کراچی میں اب تک ایم پاکس کے 9 کیسز رپورٹ ہوچکے ہیں۔

On Friday the government reduced petrol prices by Rs4 per litre and diesel by Rs2 per litre, with the cuts taking immediate effect.

Following the adjustment, petrol now sells at Rs373.78 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) at Rs378.78 per litre, down from Rs377.78 and Rs380.78 respectively. The Petroleum Division’s notification states that the new prices are effective from June 13 (Saturday).

This marks the fifth consecutive weekly reduction in petrol prices, a cumulative drop of Rs41 per litre, offering motorists a noticeable easing at the pumps. Last week the government had announced a Rs4 reduction in petrol while HSD remained unchanged at Rs380.78.

Of the HSD price, roughly Rs100 per litre consists of government charges — customs duty, the petroleum levy and the climate support levy — in addition to the inland freight equalisation margin. Petrol bears a total tax burden of about Rs125 per litre, which includes the petroleum levy, customs duty and climate levy.

   وفاقی بجٹ میں کراچی کے کے فور منصوبے کیلئے 10 ارب مختص کر دیے 

آئندہ مالی سال کے وفاقی بجٹ میں کراچی سمیت ملک کے اہم ترقیاتی اور انفراسٹرکچر منصوبوں کیلئے اربوں روپے مختص کر دیے گئے۔

بجٹ دستاویزات کے مطابق کراچی کے بلک واٹر سپلائی کے فور (K-IV) منصوبے کیلئے 10 ارب روپے رکھے گئے ہیں، جبکہ صنعتی ترقی اور برآمدی مسابقت بڑھانے کیلئے 6 ارب 60 کروڑ روپے مختص کیے گئے ہیں۔

کراچی کو چمن سے ملانے والی این 25 شاہراہ، پاکستان ایکسپریس وے، کو دو رویہ بنانے کیلئے 100 ارب روپے مختص کیے گئے ہیں۔ اس کے علاوہ سکھر۔حیدرآباد موٹروے منصوبے پر 30 ارب روپے کی سرمایہ کاری کی جائے گی۔

وزیر خزانہ محمد اورنگزیب نے کہا ہے چھوٹے دکانداروں کے لیے فکس ٹیکس سسٹم متعارف کرانے کی تجویز ہے، اس سسٹم میں وہ دکاندار آسکتے ہیں جن کی سالانی فروخت 20 کروڑ روپے سے کم ہے۔ 

بجٹ تقریر میں وزیر خزانہ نے کہا چھوٹے دکارندار اپنی سالانہ سیلز کا ایک فیصد ٹیکس ادا کریں گے، اس ٹیکس میں دکاندار اپنا ودہولڈنگ ایڈجسٹ کراسکیں گے۔

انھوں نے کہا کہ چھوٹے دکاندار کو گوشوارے جمع کراتے وقت کم ازکم 25 ہزار روپے جمع کرانا ہوں گے۔

وزیر خزانہ نے کہا ان کا روٹین میں کوئی آڈٹ نہیں ہوگا، ان پر خریداری پر ودہولڈنگ کی ذمہ داری نہیں ہوگی، پی او ایس مشین رکھنے سے استثنیٰ ہوگا۔ محمد اورنگزیب نے کہا کہ جو دکاندار فکسڈ ٹیکس سسٹم کا انتخاب کرے گا اس کو سبز رنگ کی تختی دی جائے گی، اس تختی کی موجودگی میں ایف بی آر اہلکاروں کو پوچھ گچھ کے لیے دکان میں داخل ہونے کی اجازت نہیں ہوگی۔

وفاقی بجٹ 27-2026 میں جائیداد منتقلی پر عائد ودہولڈنگ ٹیکس میں کمی کی تجویز ہے۔ 

وفاقی وزیر خزانہ سینیٹر اورنگزیب نے قومی اسمبلی میں بجٹ تقریر کرتے ہوئے کہا کہ فائلرز کےلیے جائیداد خریداری پر ودہولڈنگ ٹیکس 2 اعشاریہ 5 فیصد سے کم کر کے 1 اعشاریہ 25 فیصد کرنے کی تجویز دی ہے۔ 

فائلرز کےلیے جائیداد فروخت پر ودہولڈنگ ٹیکس 5 اعشاریہ 5 سے کم کر کے 2 اعشاریہ 75 فیصد کرنے کی تجویز ہے

وفاقی وزیر خزانہ محمد اورنگزیب کا کہنا ہے کہ تنخواہ دار طبقے کو ریلیف دینے کے لیے چار آمدنی سلیبز پر انکم ٹیکس کی شرح کم کرنے کی تجویز دی گئی ہے، جبکہ تنخواہ دار افراد پر عائد سرچارج ختم کرنے کا بھی فیصلہ کیا گیا ہے۔

قومی اسمبلی میں بجٹ تقریر کے دوران وزیر خزانہ کا کہنا ہے کہ آمدنی کے چار سلیبس کے تنخواہ دار افراد کو ریلیف دینے کی تجویز دی گئی ہے، سالانہ 22 سے 32 لاکھ آمدن پر ٹیکس کی شرح 23 سے کم کرکے 20 فیصد کرنے کی تجویز دی گئی ہے۔

وزیر خزانہ نے کہا کہ سالانہ 32 سے 41 لاکھ آمدن پر ٹیکس کی شرح 30 سے کم کرکے 25 فیصد کرنے کی تجویز ہے، سالانہ 41 سے 56 لاکھ آمدن پر ٹیکس کی شرح 35 سے کم کرکے 29 فیصد  اور 56 سے 70 لاکھ سالانہ آمدن پر ٹیکس کی شرح 35 سے کم کرکے 32 فیصد کرنے کی تجویز شامل ہے،  جبکہ تنخواہ دار طبقے پر عائد سرچارج ٹیکس ختم کرنے کا فیصلہ کیا گیا ہے۔

محمد اورنگزیب نے کہا کہ سالانہ 15 سے 50 کروڑ آمدن کے 6 سلیبز پر سپر ٹیکس ختم کردیا گیا، سالانہ 50 کروڑ سے زائد آمدن پر سپر ٹیکس 10 سے کم کرکے 8 فیصد کرنے کی تجویز دی گئی ہے۔
