The number of victims of the devastating earthquake on March 11 in the north-east of Japan and the subsequent tsunami has exceeded 11.2 thousand.

According to latest information, the death toll has reached 11 thousand 232 people.

Previously reported that the number of fatalities barely exceeds 11,000.
