This is the first time Android 4.3 has been seen running on any device whatsoever, and the leak, which shows three separate shots of the forthcoming OS in action, arrives courtesy of XDA-Developers.

Aside from one or two visible tweaks to the camera app, the snaps give precious little away, but as is often the case with leaks of this type, seeing Android 4.3 running on a device should open the floodgates to some more substantial information in the very near future.

First up is the Special Edition, which is aimed at the relatively staunch GTA 5 fan. Costing a reasonable $79.99 — just twenty bucks more than the game on its own — you get a copy of the title, an art-book blueprint map, special in-game abilities for certain characters, stunt planetrials and a number of additional garments and weapons you otherwise wouldn't have been able to enjoy.

Xbox One introduced, Microsoft's all-in-one home entertainment system

Microsoft’s Don Mattrick somewhat echoed what Sony said during its PS4 event. The company wants the Xbox One to be the center of all your entertainment.

He said:

Where all of your entertainment comes alive in one place. To continue to lead, we must provide compelling answers to new questions.

The console was shown off alongside a new gamepad controller as well as a new Kinect motion camera.

In terms of additional hardware specs, the Xbox One comes with an eight-core processor based on AMD's Jaguar design. It comes with 8GB of RAM, the better to compete with the PS4 with (although it will be DDR3 as opposed to the PS4's GDDR5). It will come with a 500GB hard drive -- actually smallish by today's standards, USB 3.0 ports, and WiFi Direct for communicating with the new controller and other devices. It will also include HDMI 1.4 output and passthrough.

Since the Xbox One is -- as is the PS4 -- switching to an x86-style architecture, backwards compatibility with Xbox 360 games will be precluded.

Having a network locked device can really hamper how you use it, especially if the network isn’t of your choice. This is tutorial on how to carrier unlock Samsung Galaxy S IV without any specialized tool.

Before we proceed, please be advised that the usual disclaimer applies. Playing around the carrier lock is risky business, and more complicated than your average Android modding. Follow these instructions at your own perusal. NewTechie.com cannot be held liable for any loss whatsoever resulting from following this method. Also, this method applies to GT-I9505 only, and not to other variants of Galaxy S4.

Step 1: Launch the Phone app on your Galaxy S4, and dial in: *#0011#

Step 2: Press the Menu button followed by the Back key. Then, hit the Menu button again and select KEY INPUT.

Enter 1 and press the OK button to enter ServiceMode.

Step 3: Press Menu one more time and tap back again. This will pull up the Main Menu for ServiceMode.

Tap [1] UMTS.

Step 4: Now select [1]DEBUG SCREEN, followed by [6] PHONE CONTROL.

Step 5: From the next screen, pick [6] NETWORK LOCK.

Step 6: You’ll get three options. Hit the one that says [3] PERSO SHA256 OFF.

Step 7: Now, you need to get back to Main Menu. To do this, hit the Menu button followed by the Back key. In Main Menu, now pick [6]COMMON, and then [6] NV REBUILD.

Step 8: The phone will tell you that a Golden Backup exists. Tap [4] Restore Back-up.

Your device will now go through a series of “conditions”, where it will first freeze, then get on a black screen with Blue LED on and both capacitive buttons on, after which it will reboot automatically. The whole cycle might take a couple of minutes, so be patient. Once it powers back on, it’s network unlocked, permanently.

The story starts out with Siri telling an iPhone owner to take an umbrella when he leaves the house. Google Now disagrees, and vehemently denies the need for one, saying repeatedly that it will not rain. The man leaves the house sans umbrella, preferring to follow Google Now’s advise rather than listen to Siri.

The result is the unfortunate user baking in the heat thanks to the sun, with Siri taking the opportunity to gloat. Just as you would, really!

Along side all the improvements and changes that it carried both on the hardware andsoftware front, it also came with Samsung’s new approach towards rooting, i.e., a more closed system much like iPhone’s as opposed to the traditional Android, making rooting all more difficult.

Pre Requisites:
Backup your data first using below mentioned instructions, so that if you lost any data you can recover it easily.

SMS & Call Log – Use SMS, MMS & Call Log Entries Backup & Restore App
Contacts & Settings – Use Android default backup options.
Images, Songs, Videos, Files – Copy to Internal/External SD card.

How to Root Galaxy S4 GT-I9500 On Android 4.2.2

Download the necessary files from above, and unzip them to a convenient location.
Put your Samsung Galaxy S4 in Download Mode using the button combination. Power off your device, plug USB cable to your computer, hold down the Volume Up + Down combinations, plug in the USB cable to your S4 while still holding down the volume buttons.
Launch Odin3 on your computer, and connect your device in Download Mode to the PC using USB cable. Odin3 will detect the connection and indicate a COM port on top.
Under PDA, select the cofface_samsungI9500_recovery_en_0503.tar file to flash the recovery, which will later be used to root the device. Make sure that Re-Partition is unchecked, and don’t touch any other setting. Hit the Start button to begin flashing the new PDA.
Once the flash is complete, the phone will reboot. Wait for boot to complete, and then power it back off.
Reboot the phone into CWM recovery that you just installed by pressing and holdingVolume Up + Home buttons whilst powering on the device.
In Recovery, go to root your phone, followed by choosing any of the two methods. CWM Recovery will notify once the process is complete.
Reboot your device once again, and you will have the Super User app installed on your Galaxy S4 GT-I9500. Please ensure to not update the su binaries after this.

The Galaxy GRAND can be entered into the Download mode by holding the Volume Down button + the Home key button (the middle button). While holding these both buttons, you need to switch ON your device.
Open Odin in your computer and connect your GALAXY Grand Smartphone to the computer with the help of original USB cable and then you will see that the ID: COM section will turn Blue / Yellow.
Click on “PDA” to select the tar file which you have got after extraction to click on “Start”. Once you click on “Start”, the process of firmware update will start. Please note that it will take around 3 -4 minutes for applying the update and once the update is applied successfully, the device will be rebooted automatically.

Note: If the device gets into the boot loop sequence or say gets stuck in the welcome screen, just re insert the battery and re follow the above instructions so as to again follow the above mentioned instructions.

First day of Google I/O is officially over and a lot of great announcements were made, and some of those announcements were strictly focused towards Android developers. One of the biggest announcements from Google out of the first day of the keynote has been the brand new development environment, called Android Studio.

The key highlights of the new tool are as follows, as outlined by Google themselves:

Gradle-based build support.
Android-specific refactoring and quick fixes.
Lint tools to catch performance, usability, version compatibility and other problems.
ProGuard and app-signing capabilities.
Template-based wizards to create common Android designs and components.
A rich layout editor that allows you to drag-and-drop UI components, preview layouts on multiple screen configurations, and much more.

Devs can upload what they need translating and then choose from a range of various translation services without having to go out to the big wide world to find someone to do the work for them. Translation is one of the many headaches for developers pushing their apps worldwide, so this will be a welcome addition for many.

You can download Android Studio IDE from here, and is available for Windows, OS X and Linux. Bear in mind that it’s an early access preview, hence there might be a little rough edges. They will be removed as time progresses, of course.
