We all know what is a domain name. We have to choose the correct and suitable domain name for our blog. There are lots of advantages on using a custom domain for your blog. Custom domain is more respective and easy to remember than sub domain. You see the example bellow.

> newtricksandtips.blogspot.com - Sub domain
> www.newtricksandtips.com - Custom domain

Which is better. 100% your answer will be the custom domain.

As well as there are several things to consider when buying a custom domain name. In this post I am going to tell you what are the things when buying your domain name.

01. Your blog domain name should be simple and short one.

A short domain name is better than a longer one. But we cannot buy 3-4 letter domain at the moment. Why does your domain name should be shorter. Because lot's of visitors are not bookmarking the URL's that they visit daily. They just remember the name of the websites and blogs. If your domain more longer they can't remember your blog name. So your domain name should be shorter.

02. The look of your domain name

If the view of your domain name much better visitors can remember your blog more and more better. And this is more important when you making a logo to your website. You can see some examples below.

www. Google.com
www.Yahoo.com
www. Pogo.com

But don't worry if you are unable to choose such domain. This is not more important. But if you do that's good.

03. Including Keywords

This is a more important thing to consider when you buying a domain name. If your domain name includes two or three keywords and if those keywords match the niche of your blog that keeps your blog in top on search engine results. See the examples below.

So people wont remember this domain name. So easily pronounceable is an important point to remember when you buying a domain name.

05. Use .com domain extension

There are lot's of domain extensions. .com, .net, .org, .edu, .co, .co.uk, .in are some of them. So why we should choose .com extension. Because .com domain extension is the most popular domain extension. Normally we don't type www.google.net , we type google.com. .com domain extension is more respective than other domain extensions. So try to buy .com domains as well as possible.

06. Try to avoid hyphens and numbers.

We should not include hyphens or numbers to our domain name. This is an imagined example. "Someone needs to buy this domain name. www.themestodownload.com . Unfortunately the domain name is not available. So he chooses www.themes2download.com. If you want to download a theme, you will goolge it as 'themes to download' or 'download themes'. And you will not type 'themes 2 download'. This is the disadvantage of using numbers in our domain names.

07. Valid for all time
Your domain name should be valid all time. See this example. "www.bloggertemplates2011.com" is a good domain name in the year 2011. But not in the year 2012. So your domain name should be valid for all time.
