Regarding tax refugees from Ohio, I think I told you of an article in the WSJ pointing out the hypocrisy of Howard Metzenbaum. Seems that after spending forever in the Senate preaching that the rich should pay their fair share, in retirement he moved to Florida to avoid the Ohio tax structure including the death taxes.

<strong>Hi Erston, Nice pick up on Metzenbaum. Further revelation about the honorable Howard Metzenbaum is that while in the Senate he served as an "intermediary" in the sale of the Hay Adams Hotel in D.C. in 1984 and was paid a $250,000 fee. (no dispute here at all) The problem was is that this was an apparent violation of law since it was illegal for a non-real-estate "licensed" broker to receive payment while acting as a sales agent. Of course the spin was first set into motion by Howard himself when he nuanced a claim that it was NOT a "Real Estate Brokers" fee, but a "finder’s fee" and hence he wasn't acting illegally as an unlicensed real-estate broker. This matter was "thoroughly" examined by authorities in the (DEMOCRATIC dominated) D.C. government who are totally dependent on Congressional largess (from the US taxpayer) for their continued financial existence and they found Mr. Metzenbaum had done "nothing wrong."

This case first came to my personal attention when I was in the Merger & Acquisition business (my own business Resource One Corporation) at the time of the Hay Adams transaction and it had previously been made eminently clear to me that any transaction for the sale of a Business (i.e. Asset Sale) other than the purchase of its stock by its suitor would require the employment of a licensed Real Estate Broker to handle the Real Property portion of the transaction. In view of that stipulation I hired a licensed Real Estate Broker (not agent) as a full time “in house” Broker to accommodate such situations.

I think you were once in Real Estate and you know that if party A is introduced to party B by party C for the purpose of completing the sale of Real Property and said property is in fact sold and party C is paid a <del datetime="2009-10-07T18:05:21+00:00">commission</del> "fee" as consideration for such efforts you have ipso facto what is clearly a Real Estate Brokers Commission. If I am wrong here, anyone can sell real-estate and simply label it as a "fee" not a "commission" to avoid violation of the law. But of course it is only a crime if it is committed by a "Right Wing Republican" not a liberal Democrat......... Steve</strong>

hey steve

just checked to see who is the registrant of "bob" above

Twenty Four Hours, LLC
PO Box 12174
Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands KY1-1007
KY
345-929-0090

it would appear that it really is a front for illegal stuff/moral corrupt garbage.

coherently, i wish obama would distance himself from acorn. i am not into conspiracies or anything, but i do beleive that their political hands are dirty and it would be in his best interest when it comes to getting health care legislation done that he lets go of them.

<strong>Matt.........Looks like Bob has set up a Tax <del datetime="2009-09-30T15:28:44+00:00">Evasion</del> Avoidance account in the Cayman Islands. That address would be a bank or trust that presents legitimacy of a business operation but is only on paper. I've studied this offshore thing extensively.

Sure we would all wish that Obama would distance himself, but he couldn't bring himself to even notice it until ACORN themselves said there were serious problems. That provided him the cover to make a mild statement. He is basically avoiding it by saying there are more important things going on............. I suppose like Olympic Junkets. Essentially he cannot distance himself too far from ACORN because they are inextricably involved together. There is a broader and more entrenched network of connections "remaining" between Obama and ACORN than there was between Cheney and Halliburton. Critics conveniently forget that Cheney disposed of his stock of Halliburton before he came into office and had no personal advantage in anything with them.

You should know that ACORN and their affiliates are the ones that wrote the whole Stimulus Package and it includes provisions of "Community Activists" (not saying ACORN per se) to get up to $3.5 Billion in Government "contracts" and it was expressed in ways that makes ACORN the leading candidate to get the biggest share of it without mention. Yes Matt this Chicago crowd is (and has been for decades) one of the most corrupt political machines in history and Obama is part and parcel. This trip to the Olympic committee will bring zillions in business opportunities to Chicago and even (as I heard from one DEMOCRATIC analyst - Coddell) that Revko and others like him will profit handsomely. This is part of the oiling of the political machine by Obama for future IOU's. from this crowd.

Of course even though the Generals say there is an URGENT need for troops in Afghanistan or we loose, Obama doesn't have time to respond since he does have time to travel on junkets at taxpayer expense for the benefit of the Democrats in Chicago. It looks like you can bet that Obama's response to HIS Generals is being filtered through the politics of the Left and Move On before he can do what is right for America, or it would have been done already. Don't believe the game about it not being yet submitted to the President. If you and I know about the report so does he. Do you believe that the Generals would take this time to do the study, write a report, underscore it as URGENT and then electively "sit on it" without pressure from above????? If so, I got some swamp land for you..............steve :)</strong>
