As many of you know, the HTC One X is now out, which is pretty much the official successor to the original HTC Nexus One. The HTC One X features a Nexus One-ish design but much more sensational with a Tegra 3 quad-core processor. Well, for those of you who MUST have the best, you can also now root your HTC One X. You can follow full step-by-step instructions at OneXRoot.com. Well, you will probably want to root it then. Rooting your HTC One X can give you new found powers like the ability to install/backup/restore ROMs, run rooted apps, and a whole lot more. If you want to know all about rooting, see this video on Why Root My Android Smartphone.

I will have full review of the latest generation Nexus S but in the meanwhile, if you did pick up a Nexus S like myself, you might want to learn to root your Nexus S so you can install new ROMs and tinker with your new phone.
Still using Android 2.2? Even with Google’s latest Android 2.2.1 update, you are probably not up to speed unless you’ve got the Android 2.3 Gingerbread ROM. Actually there’s a bunch out there now but the one I recommend to install on your rooted Nexus One is the LeoGingerbread ROM. Here’s the files you need to update your rooted Nexus One to LeoGingerbread Android 2.3.1 ROM, highly recommended.
T-Mobile has announced that they are now offering the G2 device absolutely free. It will have an 800 MHz CPU which should be a big improvement if you compare it to the Google Nexus One. The price drop seems to be in line with the expected invasion of new smartphones that will come out in the coming months. The G2 will also come with a catchy physical keyboard that should make it easy to key in when you have to create messages and/or emails. Do note however that this deal is a web-only discount transaction and will automatically be hitched with a contract for sure. Read

The rumor mill is hot once again and this time they are saying that Sprint and LG are all set to announced the first 3D Android handset. After announcing the glasses-free 3D display, LG is reportedly set to unveil a device closely similar to the Motorola Droid X. If this rumor is true, then the LG 3D smartphone may come with a 4.3” display, a front-facing camera and will overall look kinda cheap. The handset will be able to record video in 3D format and will have a UI described as cube-like. As with many glasses 3D displays you look at, you need to adjust your focus to the screen, but it’s usually not uncomfortable to do so. Read

Thanks to some ROMS and hacks made by techies and developers, some devices can run on other operating systems but are unfortunately unofficial and cannot accommodate all the features the device should have. But now it seems there is one device that can run on three different operating systems and this comes in the form of the Evolve III Maestro tablet. By default, the tablet can run on Windows 7, Google Android and Meego Linux. Among the features of the said tablet include an Intel Atom N475 processor, 2GB of RAM, a 32GB SSD drive, a 10” display, WiFi and 3G. The Evolve III Maestro tablet is set to come out by the second quarter of this year with pricing yet to be announced. Read
