It’s no secret that for several years I’ve been subject to a number of personal character attacks by overzealous activists and bloggers. With the exception of one person, Sunny at Smashed Frog, I’ve never had anyone hold these people accountable for their anti-gay animus.

But no sooner someone else is allegedly smeared or defamed online, they scream at me for justice.

Hey, guess what? Got a problem with anti-gay misinformation in the new media?

Call GLAAD.Oh wait…

I had two trans… you know, I’m not really sure where they fit in the LGBTTQ acronym, but whatever… falsely accuse me of being transphobic.

They cited an earlier post in which I reprinted a comment made on another blog in which Cathy Brennan, an alleged lesbian activist and blogger in Baltimore, recalled a conversation she had with Autumn Sandeen and all “she” – and that’s debatable – bragged about her male testicles.

Bitches, please; First things, first.

I don’t know Cathy Brennan.
The notion someone can be transphobic from pointing out Autumn Sandeen out is a mentally ill person and is thus unqualitied to serve in a leadership capacity is in of itself, insane.
Here’s a concept for everyone: I’m a blogger. Cathy has a blog, too. Bloggers source bloggers.

Having written all that, if Autumn Sandeen has a problem with me linking or sourcing another blog or website, then it’s Autumn I should be hearing from.

You can bring your balls, Autumn. But leave the MLK, Alice Paul and Cesar Chavez quotes for someone else.

As far as GLAAD is concerned, yes, @GLAAD is indeed following me on Twitter and they appear to have added me to one of the circles on Google+.

A few anti-gay activists and infotainers follow several gay bloggers on Twitter and Facebook and they back and forth with each other regularly. I don’t see anyone bitching about that.

Now I may not be out there breaking the walls down trying to get ENDA and or GENDA on the books or phonebanking or whatever it is professional activists do, but I remain ever supportive of the transgender and transexual community. But much like the gay kapos who love misery and played themselves hard at my expense, I’m not taking their bullshit either.

And for all those, past and present, who fear Willy Wonka won’t let you into the chocolate factory, and just sit there playing deaf, dumb, and blind to it all, you’ve done more to out yourselves than you can imagine.

By the way, according to Gay Star News, GLAAD will be giving Facebook a special recognition award in an event to take place this weekend in San Francisco.

On top of everything else that has been written here, now they plan to award a social network that has given second glass status to gays; they’ve allowed hate groups to exist with impugnity; they’ve prevented, sometimes even censored LGBT activists from calling them out; and not only that, they’ve violated privacy and have allowed local, state, and the federal government to tell them who can, and cannot have a Facebook account.

This is a huge fail. But then what else is new?

…Since Pa’Lante Con Cristina, a weekly talk and variety program that airs Sunday nights on Telemundo, aired a program with anti LGBT content.

GLAAD has taken no action against them.

Obviously, GLAAD doesn’t care about gay people. Anymore. See below for more.

And neither, apparently, those activists and bloggers who profit in righteous indignation any time some jesus freak says anything untoward about their lifestyle.

Yes, “lifestyle”, as in, activists and bloggers who credit the equality movement to a specific constituency that supports or subscribes to a narrow-minded view and bully and ostracize who oppose them.

But that’s probably because many of them knew in advance of the show itself, aided in the production of the show, knew what happened during the taping, and they don’t want anyone else to know it’s their fault.

For those of you don’t know spanish and have been wondering silently just what it is I’ve been fussing about, Cristina Saralegui did a one hour discussion on whether gays can be cured from a religious perspective and she let several proponents of religious therapy have the last word.

She also defended an anti-gay activist (Eladio Armesto runs a group called Take Back Miami) and a quack doctor (Dr. Roberto Carrion), and, most of all, she did not invite anyone to speak on the harms gays have suffered because of religion.

What’s even odder is that this is same Saralegui who in 2002, dropped out from hosting the Hispanic Media Awards after she learned they were honoring Armesto.

"To honor Armesto, who has used his media experience and skills to defame and oppress others, is a slap in the face to the Miami community," said Saralegui. "He's equated gays and lesbians with child molesters and shown he has no interest in the core tenets of journalism: fairness and accuracy."

Guess what else I’ve found? A quote from Joan Garry, GLAAD’s former executive director:

"It's difficult to imagine how anyone could participate in this event knowing that it was honoring a man whose words and deeds befoul the spirit of journalism," said Joan M. Garry, GLAAD's executive director. "We applaud Cristina and John for responsibly distancing themselves from Armesto's agenda of hatred and discrimination and hope their departures send a clear signal to the organizers of Hispanic Media 100 that fair-minded people will not sit idly when bigotry is placed on a pedestal," she said.

What a difference ten years makes, huh?

Last night, the New York Public Library hosted a program called "LGBT Rights in Cuba, the United States and Beyond: Mariela Castro and Rea Carey in Conversation," and there's some controversy and confusion being had with respect to the event itself.

Mariela Castro is the daughter of current Cuban President Raúl Castro, and the niece of Fidel Castro.

Rea Carey is the executive director of the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF).

There are reports some people who registered in advance weren't allowed access to the event; And many are pointing fingers at Rea and the NGLTF, including Telemundo47 reporter Ivan Taylor, who said, in spanish, his cameraman was allowed at the event and was visibly skeptical when told the decision came from NYPL officials.

Additionally, many are asking why Rea, Pedro Julio Serrano, who aided with translation, and other activists, including Andres Duque - a kapo who loves to chortle and chuckle about being a kapo and tool for Gay,Inc but then bows to their whims anyway - would lend their names in support of someone who still very much supports her father and uncle's dictatorship

As per their blog, Rea Carey has promised video of the event will be available online.

Looking forward to seeing it, and seeing for myself whether or not there were more empty seats than there were people.

I could just as easily ask Pedro or Andres, but ignorance is bliss and I've got blisters.

dharun apologizes, sort of

Dharun Ravi offered an apology yesterday (May 29) thru his lawyer:

“Last Monday, I was sentenced to 3 years probation, 300 hours of community service, a fine of more than $10,000.00, and 30 days in jail. Since the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office appealed that sentence, the sentence does not have to start until the appeal is decided. Nevertheless, I decided to accept and hopefully complete the sentence as soon as possible. It’s the only way I can go on with my life.

I accept responsibility for and regret my thoughtless, insensitive, immature, stupid and childish choices that I made on September 19, 2010 and September 21, 2010. My behavior and actions, which at no time were motivated by hate, bigotry, prejudice or desire to hurt, humiliate or embarrass anyone, were nonetheless the wrong choices and decisions. I apologize to everyone affected by those choices. I am surrendering myself to the Middlesex County Correctional Facility on Thursday, May 31, 2012, to start my 30-day
period of imprisonment.”

This morning, May 30, he appeared before court to announce he turn himself in and begin serving his thirty day jail term starting tomorrow.

Word on the street is however Dharun wants to complete his sentencing sooner than later so as to avoid a current appeal for a longer sentence.

As this is my blog, I'm of the belief Ravi deserves, at minimum eight months in prison, pus placement on the state sex offender registry. Say what one will, and everyone has, this was or is a case that involved sexual harassment.

While it was great to learn that Bill Dobbs and Tobias Grace, the senior editor of Out In Jersey come out against state sex offender laws, that they're citing Dharun Ravi is a slap in the face for those who've done prison time for victim less crimes relating to the internet and have had to register as sex offenders.

And who have found themselves ostracized by their community as a result.

...and mind everyone, this paragon of equality activism blocked me from following him on Twitter back in 2010, it would appear alot of activists and bloggers had known of this show in advance and didn't say anything about how bad this show was, and in all probability won't, which accounts for all the silence.

Back in March, Lourdes Lacret, an associate producer with Pa'Lante, had contacted several people affiliated with Ex-Gay Watch and Truth Wins Out about appearing on the program:

Additionally, it would appear that Wayne Besen was assisting Lourdes and held an open casting call on truthwinsout.org:

Esther Baruja who appeared on the show with Toscano and others, took the call.

Meanwhile it turns out that Alexis Fernandez, the drag queen entertainer I mentioned briefly in my original post, is a big deal himself. Better known as Marytrini, he's appeared on spanish language television and has supposedly wowed audiences with his act not just in Miami, including Club Sugar, but also Argentina, Brazil and Spain.

And guess what else?

Alexis/Marytrini was cited on glaad.org piece back in September, 2011....

which probably means GLAAD knew about the taping too.

So make no doubt about it, GLAAD doesn't give a fuck about gay people.

Many of you might have been reading elsewhere about CeCe McDonald: she is a African-American trans woman who was arrested and is being charged with murder after she allegedly defended herself from being verbally and physically assaulted outside a bar in Minneapolis.

Alot of people would like to see her go free, including me.

And as with the Tyler Clementi case which saw activists and bloggers defending a hate crime suspect, CeCe McDonald is someone who deserves someone better than a bunch of overzealous tranny activists exploiting her situation.

If one hasn't noticed, yet, many of those psuedo intellectual morons who have been screaming justice for CeCe are bipolar and schizophrenic and they're the ones who in all probability need to be locked up, along with the man who was arrested for Etan Patz's disappearance, not CeCe.

Rather than playing the waiting game, I'll just go ahead and write that if you're one of those who are planning to pretend outrage over what I wrote, go find some chicks with dicks porn on Tumblr or something.

The truth is, when it comes to gays, transgenders, the prison industrial complex and the injustices LGBT people face when it comes to the legal or judicial system, I'm probably the only LGBT activist/blogger in this whole godfarsaken internet that can speak and write on this issue without there being any conflict of interest.

Having written all that, so where are all these people advocating for Bradley Manning and Dan Choi?

No, this isn't another post about the Cristina show. Well, not necessarily. I've pretty much proven that when it comes to anti-gay disinformation and or misinformation in the media, one, it comes with a price tag; and two, the gay and lesbian activist and blogging community are cowards and hypocrites.

Yeah, sure, there was some outrage expressed over Twitter and Facebook this weekend, but, whoop dee doo. Slactivists using social media: Wow, what a concept!

If there's a blackout or blacklist in effect as far as this blogger is concerned, it hasn't affected me at all. Borrowing from a national awareness campaign, I saw something and did something.

I also filed an incident report with GLAAD, but apparently they're now taking orders from the chicks with dicks community.

Besides, I can cite other cases.

Take Reverend Charles Worley, please.

Ah, yes, Pastor Concentration Camps; He went from being a nobody to international symbol, and we, the collective LGBT community, are the ones to blame for this. Truth be told, this man is as relevant as all these storefront pentecostal and evangelical churches that exists here throughout New York City with their small (100 or less) congregations.

Want to really know what's being said in these churches or is DC Comics reintroducing one of its major characters as gay weighing too heavily on everyone's mind?

On Sunday May 27, Pa'Lante Con Cristina (Forward A Cristina), a weekly discussion show that airs on Telemundo, aired a one hour program discussing whether gays can be cured.

As I noted earlier, the show was extremely offensive; not just because there were ex-gays on the program lying their asses off, but also for the fact that Peterson Toscano appeared on the show and didn't alert the activist and blogging community of what happened during the taping.

Unfortunately, those activists and orgs who are dedicated to comprehensively monitoring, analyzing, and correcting anti-gay disformation and misinformation in the media are nowhere to be found.

It is Memorial Day Weekend, after all.

Nonetheless,when I originally commented on this, I didn't have any video to go along with this... until now.

It's been more than twelve hours since Telemundo aired a program rife with problems, and perhaps not surprisingly, there are two things happening:

1. Those LGBT activists and orgs who profit and seek celebrity from calling anti-gay defamation in the media, english and spanish, are conspicuously silent.

2. LGBT social issue activists and bloggers are not demanding to know why Peterson Toscano, an ex-gay turned LGBT activist and blogger appeared on a TV taping that was clearly biased and didn't alert the community ahead of time.

As I noted earlier, the show was taped in late March or early April and Peterson was on set while Cristina invited pro LGBT guests to speak on their experiences only to have them mocked by adversaries.

Although Peterson has blocked me from following him on Twitter, one can still view his Twitter timeline and it seems that Peterson spent his Memorial Day Sunday promoting the show on his social media networks and having a viewing party at his home.

Obviously, Toscano hasn't rid himself of his inner demons.

Hmmm in about an hour I will find out if I made a fool of myself on national TV. It's in Spanish so most of my friends won't notice.

The real outrage is being saved for GLAAD, however. It seems they've taken a holiday. This is how their Twitter and Facebook page looked as of 1015am Monday:

I wasn’t aware until recently that Cristina Saralegui, talk show host of the Spanish-language eponymous show, Cristina, which aired on Univision for 21 years had moved to Telemundo.

Nonetheless, for her new show, Pa'lante con Cristina (Forward with Cristina) which airs Sunday nights, on Telemundo, the topic was an old one: Can Gays Be Cured?

Unfortunately, there was nothing forward about the discussion, either:

For starters, this is how Telemundo.com promoted tonight’s show…

Yeah, the obligatory Brokeback reference; How very 2005.

Second; The show was taped back in March or early April; As such, there was no reference whatsoever to Robert Spitzer or the fact that he’s apologized for not realizing all these years he never accounted for the fact that people can be self loathing, in denial, and lie about being ex-gay.

The other was her guests.

Yep, that was Peterson Toscano, who for the one gazillionth time was given a platform to tell his tired story on how he spent seventeen years in ex-gay therapy, spending thousands of dollars trying to de-gay himself with exorcisms and a bunch of other crap. Apparently he wasn’t too convicing because the next segment, Cristina interviewed someone named Miguel Barros; he was there to contrast Peterson’s remarks and say that exorcising the gay away does work and as proof, he his wife sat by him and family photos appeared on screen.

Christina then interviewed Hector Gustavo; He used to be a drag queen entertainer in Puerto Rico until supposedly a female friend snapped him out of it.

He’s another guy whose story is getting old.

After an interview with another drag queen entertainer from Florida, there was a heated moment between him and someone named Eladio Armesto, who runs some group called Take Back Miami-Dade, in which Eladio was supposedly outed. Except for this promo clip, there’s no video online yet:

The show concluded with someone named Dr. Roberto Carrion, an author whose supposedly a gay ally, by being an ex-gay himself, and blaming the ongoing pandemic of gay teen suicide on homosexuality and drugs.

To say this show is an insult and slap in the face to LGBT’s is an understatement. But there’s no other way to describe the show.

If GLAAD and the other spanish language LGBT activists don’t protest this show immediately after this piece is published, then it only goes to show how backward this community of ours has become of late.

I obviously wasn’t the only watching. There are people commenting about on Twitter, but unfortunately most of the complainants don’t wish to include me in their online social media or do anything about the anti-gay animus that motivates them'; In other words, I’m caught between a rock and hard place again.

How they can feign upset knowing they’ve pandered to anti-gay bigots is beyond the pale, but again, this is the equality movement for you.

Tammy Bruce, a radio host, author, and political commentator who often appears on FOX News, tweeted yesterday that she's been told she'll never guest host The O'Reilly Factor because she's gay. But just as the story began to make all the LGBT news blogs, she did an about face, blaming Twitter and so called liberal bloggers for lacking a sense of humor.

Well, why not? this week we've had gay activists celebrating Dharun Ravi recieving less than 30 days - that's 2 days per charge, by the way - for using the internet to violate Tyler Clementi's privacy while Don Charles, a gay christian blogger and activist is defending Charles L. Worley, that anti-gay pastor from North Carolina who was caught on video advocating for electrified concentration camps for "homosexuals and queers" for using those two words in context. Don hates any gay person who uses these two descriptors or any attempt at re-appropriating the word from the anti-gay opposition.

And it's only Thursday.

So, let's guess this one out of the way: the Dharun Ravi trial had it all: Evidence tampering, hostile witnesses, overzealous prosecutors and incompetent defense attorneys. I'm not going to allow anyone to drag me into a water cooler debate about the trial. Having written that, the notion of having equality advocates defending the Ravi sentencing is offensive.

It really is true; With activists like these who needs enemies?

But lest anyone think this is a brand new phenomena, guess again.

Many will recall Larry King; he was a fifteen year old openly gay student who attended a junior high school in Oxnard, California who was shot twice by Brandon McInerney, a fellow student in 2008. In that case, there were activists and bloggers who didn't want Brandon to spend the rest of his life in prison as well, and they all delayed his trial with all sorts of claptrap too.

Following many delays and a change of venue, McInerney's first trial began on July 5, 2011, in the Los Angeles district of Chatsworth. That trial ended on September 1, 2011 when the judge, Charles Campbell, declared a mistrial due to the jury being unable to reach a unanimous verdict. Prosecutors decided to seek a second trial, but dropped the hate crime charge.

On November 21, 2011, McInerney pleaded guilty to second degree murder, voluntary manslaughter and use of a gun. The plea carries a sentence of 21 years imprisonment without time off for good behavior, and avoided the scheduled retrial. He was sentenced on December 19, 2011.

Once Brandon accepted responsibility for his crime, so did support for him. Go figure.

Speaking or writing for myself, I never sought to make Ravi a scapegoat; those who've been saying or writing Ravi is a scapegoat are the same ones who've been advocating for leniency or pardon, an act that reeks of arrogance and hypocrisy.

From capitulating to anti-gay bullies, to believing they hold themselves divine to inviting themselves of their own facts, it's unbelievable the lengths some people will go to claim the moral high ground.

All these years demanding our local, state, and federal government to include LGBT's in bias and hate crimes legislation, all for naught because activists can't stop being cowards and hypocrites.

Michael Petrelis accused Steven Goldstein of playing etch a sketch politics; But truth be told, there's been alot of that going around, and for far too long.

On the subject of cowards and hypocrites, I was informed that two Twaddicts, two gay conservatives, two amateur conservative pundits, had a panic attack after I allegedly outed someone here on the blog. It seems that one of them thinks I was doing it to appease Joe Jervis. It should be noted, the information is coming third party. I've yet to hear from them personally, but if this is true, then these two guys are even more stupider than I could have imagined.

Any wonder why my progress has been difficult? Look what the fuck I'm up against.

It was one year ago this month in which I had been calling out Joe Jervis and other New York area activists to show up at anti-gay rally that Ruben Diaz and The National Organization Marriage held in the Bronx, New York. Alot of activists and equality orgs didn't not show up. Some even used the annual AIDS Walk New York as a cover, but that's neither here nor there. I was at the Diaz rally and I thanked Joe personally for showing up, even though he and two other people spent their time playing pretend journalist, instead of being activists and joining those LGBT Bronx residents who are/were fed up with Ruben's bible mandated bigotry and got no help or support from Bronx Pride.

Following what I thought was me making the peace, Joe blocked me on Twitter and barred me from posting comments on his blog.

The thirty day jail sentence Dharun Ravi received this week is still being debated although there are some, specifically the gays for Ravi who are now trying to sidestep by saying or writing we’ve other more important to concern ourselves with like the anti-gay pastor in North Carolina who wants the gays rounded up and put in electrified interment camps.

Having written that, Michael Petrelis at The Petrelis Files calls out the blogs for failing to hold accountable Garden State Equality’s Chair and CEO Steven Goldstein flip flop on the Rutger’s spying case.

I posted a link to Garden State Equality’s statement on the Ravi sentencing and didn’t call him out as I did others.

Ravi may not be an anti-gay bully per se, but he did commit the crime of bully by ostracism; an act, by the way, which many activists and bloggers are known for, and an issue that many other bloggers and activists tend to run away from.

Anyone remember Erin Andrews? She is or was the ESPN reporter who was secretly videotaped undressing in her hotel room. The man convicted of that crime was sentenced to 30 months in prison, three years of probation, $5,000 in fines, and $7,366 in restitution.

What these activists have done, by advocating leniency for Ravi, is say that bullying is okay.

dan versus brian

Many of you may recall that following Dan Savage's remarks while addressing high school journalism students in Seatlle, Brian Brown, the NOMnut from National Organization For Marriage challenged Savage to a debate, which Savage accepted.

Several bloggers, including David Badash at thenewcivilrightsmovement.com reported today Savage announced he's invited Brown and his wife? to dinner at his home with Terry; they can hold the debate there and have it posted immediately to YouTube.

Gotta love Dan, huh? He exploits gay teen suicide for profit, defends people who ostracise people into suicide, and now he wants to have dinner with an anti-gay terrorist where no doubt he and Brian will be doing some negotiating before hand and have a debate which will be surely based on a false foundation of fact.

And to think I thought 2011 was a bad year for equality advocates.

Over at Google+, a well known writer/editor of gay comics erotica posted a message that he was banned from Facebook after someone complained about an image he posted on his wall.

Ironically, he's taking the incident in stride.

Good for him. On the other hand, it does beg to question why anyone would be giving Facebook the benefit of doubt especially when this is a social network that considers LGBT's less than equal, they're discriminatory, violate privacy; they're in the outing business; vis a vis, allowing local, state, and federal government telling them who can, or can't have a Facebook account; they allow hate groups to exist with total impugnity, and more recently they've been revoking people's commenting privileges out of spite more than anything else.

I don't have Facebook. Well, that's not true; I did for about ten minutes and then I was made an outcast.

Whatever, I don't miss Facebook at all. It hasn't affected my socializing since I prefer to be among real people anyway, not those who like to play online pretend and who think they're the shit because they can push the like button.

The latter, by the way, who really, really, REALLY suck at social media.

Meanwhile, As per Jim Feig via Google+, an anti-paedophile vigilante who murdered a gay man he wrongly believed to be a child molester was told today he may never be released from prison.

I have to conclude Bill would be okay with having someone setting up a web camera in his bedroom and live stream his bedroom activity online where everyone can mock it.

Maybe even having some over privileged rich kid assault him with a pair of scissors?

Had that incident occurred today, would Bill or Michelangelo Signorile be calling for leniency?

As I mentioned to someone who managed somehow to put aside his fear of email (or cyberphobia) for two seconds, It's just beyond reprehensible having gay rights activists defending people who proliferate hatred toward our community and then lie about it or making apples to oranges comparisons.

Well, whatever people may think of the verdict, and the judge's recommendation that Ravi not be deported back to India, it is certain that he is paying a tremendous penalty above and beyond what the law has imposed: I find it hard to imagine that he will ever be able to complete college, much less get some high-paying job, in this country. Maybe back in India, or somewhere else in the world, but not here. So even if you think he should do more jail time, just remember that he will be paying for his callous cruelty the rest of his life, in notoriety and lost opportunities. Bad karma, for sure.
Nevertheless, fellas - it's important to retain a sense of balance, and to remember that there are degrees of sin.

Russ goes on to cite an incident involving several unidentified people beating Svyatoslav Sheremet in Kiev on May 20, 2012 and a pastor named C. L. Worley who proposes trapping "queers" inside a 100 mile electric fence and keeping them from mulitplying until they die.

Those stories or news items have been covered extensively elsewhere.

I'd argue what's the difference between Ravi, those thugs who pepper sprayed and beat up Syvatoslav and that pastor?

There is none, and the sooner this horrid community of mine/ours stops believing some people are more equal than others and no longer allow the kapos to make a mockery of us, the better off the rest of us will be.

I know of people who have been tried and convicted on victimless crimes and depending on the person, they've been given months or years of prison time, plus placement on a state sex offender registry. In some cases, non stop ostracism by his family, friends, and his community. Ravi's actions result in the death of a gay man, and not only does he receive a thirty day sentence and no sex offender placement, he's also empathized by the LGBT activist community.

I'm sickened beyond belief.

As I noted earlier, Toby Grace of OutInJersey.net wrote an editorial last week advocating for leniency. Although they've posted a news update, there hasn't been an official statement by them yet.

But Dan Savage, another member of Team Ravi did have this to say or write about the sentencing:

Ten years and deportation—which the judge could've ordered—seemed excessive to me, like overkill and blame-shifting. I was one of the "gay rights advocates" quoted in a NYT piece this morning who expressed misgivings about the severity of the sentence that Ravi faced. But a 30 day sentence is far, far too lenient—a slap on the wrist.

But leave the most outrageous reaction to the sentencing to so called gay conservative:

Another, E.J. Graff, who writes about gay and lesbian issues, said in her column in The American Prospect, "I fear that Ravi is an easy scapegoat for a complicated problem."

While many wonder what planet EJ Graff is living on, the truth is The American Prospect has long subscribed to an anti-gay animus.

In 2009, American Prospect's web editor Gabriel Arana, yes the same guy who managed to convince Robert Spitzer to apologize, wrote a column attacking Matthew Shepard being the abject symbol for hate crimes legislation.

He later wrote another column calling the National Equality March incoherent and irrelevant.

Rather than Spitzer, perhaps it's American Prospect who should be doing the apologizing.

As this is going to post, Dharun Ravi is being sentenced for spying on and intimidating gay roommate Tyler Clementi, who killed himself in 2010. On Sunday, Bill Dobbs, one of several LGBT activists who have calling for leniency, forwarded me a link to an editorial by Toby Grace, Senior Editor at OutInJersey.net who compared New Jersey's bias crime law to Meghan's Law.

It would appear that the New Jersey bias crime law is rapidly going the way of Megan’s Law: another tool to destroy the lives of harmless people. Meagan’s law was written to impose serious penalties on dangerous sex offenders. Unfortunately, it has also swept up numerous high school students, guilty of no more than an ill-advised love affair, ruining their lives in the process. Likewise, our bias crime laws were written with the idea of protecting many minorities from the bashers and haters. Unfortunately, in the hands of a prosecutor who cares for nothing but building a reputation as a winner of cases and “tough litigator,” the law is a way of destroying someone like Dharun Ravi – a young man of great promise, no previous record of wrong-doing and no convincing homophobic intent.

How odd having an LGBT advocate realize Meghan's Law doesn't work.

I've been making this argument for years, not that anyone's noticed. For those of you who've been on the fence on this whole issue, you don't count.

Much like those two guys from the Atlantis Cruise, Ravi should be so lucky he's not being charged as a sex offender. After all, Clementi is a victim of sexual harassment.

All these years calling for hate crimes legislation and it's LGBT activists arguing people who commit hate crimes against gays should only get a slap in the wrist instead. Unbelievable.

As if the week that passed wasn't enough with bipolar chicks with dicks teaming with GLAAD to bully the New York Times, GetEqual using their platform to bully other activists and then pretending to be the victim, and those two gay guys from the Atlanta Cruise still not getting the fact that they're very lucky they haven't been arrested and charged as sex offenders, earlier this week, Monday May 19, in fact, several hundred protesters at the New Jersey State House to show support for Dharun Ravi.

Among those protesters? Several LGBT activists, including Bill Dobbs, a longtime LGBT activist here in New York. Mr. Dobbs is featured in this report about the rally from WABC TV which aired on May 14, 2012:

For those who may be living in a bubble, Ravi is the former Rutgers student who was convicted in March of numerous criminal counts, including four charges of bias intimidation, for using his webcam to view a brief live clip of his roommate, Tyler Clementi, kissing another man.

Tyler Clementi, committed suicide days after the incident.

Ravi had a chance to accept a plea bargain, but he refused. It was his idea to go to trial. It backfired, and Ravi and his supporter have spent the last several months in denial.

The notion of having LGBT activists such as Bill saying essentially that bullies who make LGBT's amenable to suicide don't deserve to be incarcerated is, at minimum, disappointing; at max, fucking outrageous.

Paraphrasing what David Ehrenstein wrote or said elsewhere, when did activists become doormats, oh so willing to forgive those who would slit our throats and order lunch???!!!!!

Again, if recent events are any indication, don't expect a conservation to be had here and instead count the seconds, minutes, hours, days, before LGBT activists resort to anti-gay animus or threats or exploiting the closet to defend their ignorance.
