It came  sooner than I expected which is a real plus.

The book arrived in plastic wrapping to protect its glossy cover.  It’s aptly entitled  “2008″  because everything about it took place in, well, 2008.

I ordered the 10 x 8 inches standard landscape (softcover) just to get an initial feel of the finished product.   Generally, the book looks good.   It’s sleek, crisp and the paper is of premium quality.  However, I’ve noticed some pixelation issues in several photos.   Once scaled down, they either look grainy or blurry.  But I suppose you can’t always preserve great photos once they’ve been manipulated and printed.  Hopefully though with further tweaking I’ll be able to resolve that issue.

Overall I’m happy with it.   I’m a bit of a perfectionist so I’d probably do a bit more editing before I re-order.   I opted for a photo book design with a scrapbook feel to it so I think I’ll stick with that for now.  Also, I think it would look so much prettier if I upgraded to hardcover in 13 x 11 inches format.

great news!! nheec dot com is now on print!

i am very pleased to announce that i am almost done with my book. and i mean, my book.  i am actually (quietly) writing one.   just a few minor tweaks and it’s ready to be published.  so exciting! basically it will be  a paper manifestation of this blog and will look somewhat like the above image.   it will be 50 pages thick and  will include a collection of some of my favourite photos. and since mikee is pretty much the core of my existence, the book will essentially be about him, inspired by him,  and dedicated to him.  in a nutshell,  it’s my wax poetic about my unico hijo on paper.

books and photography are my greatest passions and have inspired my decision to create this book. it has been unbelievably fun and i only regret that i didn’t think of it sooner!  i shall write books about everything and nothing!  the booktard in me is duly aroused.

i have started brainstorming topics i want to write about.  here is my initial list:

1.  a memoir

2.  travel book

3.  photography

4.  short story collection

i  started adding cookbook but that may be overreaching.

to my beautiful kinsfolks far and wide — i will be more than happy to ship copies of my soon-to-be-finished book to wherever you are.   and no, i will not send you iphones.  get over it.
