The only thing that can save it is an eccentric, radical marriage counselor, Alexandra Demauparrie. The problem is nobody will say what her methods are, just that she has a 100% success rate. With nothing to lose the couple decide to give her a try.

This non-SAG romantic comedy, expected to be roughly 20-25 minutes, will be shot in the town of Wolfeboro, NH and will be screened there as well. The film is being made in conjunction with Wolfeboro Community Television and will be shown on local public access television. All actors will receive a copy of the finished DVD and notice of all film festivals that the film gains entry into. We are entering the film in regional film festivals at this point, and will submit to additional festivals based on its success. Attached is a copy of the screenplay and treatment. Rehearsals are expected to begin in January with principal photography completed by mid-February. Our main goal is to have fun and make new friends while creating an art form.

Anyone interested can email me at:

Calderaproductions@gmail.com

Steve Day
Writer/Director - The Marriage Counselor

Their will be an encore presentation on Friday, Nov. 13. Both shows will begin at 6 p.m. The Red Door is located at 107 State Street. Admission is free.

"Tuesday Morning" will be shown with their award-winning film, "The Listeners."

Roundtable Pictures has also submitted an entry in the "Crash the Superbowl" ad contest sponsored by Doritos. The ad, titled "The Main Ingredient", can be seen at www.crashthesuperbowl.com. It is submission number 1496. and has already generated an incredibly favorable response.

"This has been a busy time for us. We worked on "Tuesday Morning' all summer, and got it ready in time to submit to the Sundance Film Festival, which we did just before the deadline. Then the Doritos contest came up, and we've been continuously posting on our website which, more than two-and-half years after we went live, has quietly become both popular and pretty well respected," said Trodson.

"Tuesday Morning" takes place inside the North Tower of the World Trade Center on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001. The film stars Seacoast actors Whitney Smith and Teddi Kenick-Bailey. It was written by Trodson, directed by Gillis, and shot by award-winning filmmaker Jay Childs.

"This is a very simple film, very lovely. I don't want to say too much about it, I think it should be a surprise," said Gillis. "I do think it has two of the most stunning performances you're going to see by any actor around town. Whitney and Teddi just put their heart and soul into this thing, and that alone is worth watching." Gillis said "Tuesday Morning" is about to hit the festival circuit.

Their short film, "The Listeners", won the Best Short Drama award at the New Hampshire Film Expo in 2005. They are also the creative team behind "A Bootful of Fish" (2006) and "Elevation", which debuted at the NHFF in 2008.

The Doritos ad fell together quickly, said Trodson. With a script by Trodson, the ad was directed by Gillis and edited by both.

"We just had a funny idea, and ran with it. Mike and I some time ago decided to branch out into advertising, so this was a logical step for us. We asked two non-actors, but very good and funny guys, Mark Dearborn and Scott Bourget, and a really talented Seacoast actor, Chris Curtis, to make up this comedy team," said Trodson. "In it they cook dinner for their girlfriends with nothing but Doritos. That ad came out like a dream, I think. We had a team of some of the best craftspeople in the Seacoast jump right in to help out."

In addition to winning the 2009 NH Film & Television Office Screenwriting Competition, the script won first place in the 2008 Silver Screenwriting Competition and was the Grand Prize Winner in the 2008 Script P.I.M.P. Competition.

The reading of FREEBIRD, which will be directed by New Hampshire filmmaker Adam Jones, will be followed by a discussion with Graham, Jones, and the cast.

The Screenplay Reading Series showcases new motion picture scripts read live by actors before an audience, followed by Q&A, creating a unique movie-going experience. The series focuses on the craft of cinematic storytelling, long before a frame of film is shot, and is dedicated to fostering a forum where screenwriters can hear their words come to life and network with actors, potential film investors, and other artists involved in filmmaking.

The Screenplay Reading Series accepts screenplays for consideration on an invitation-only basis and screenplays must have an emphasis on New Hampshire, either in their setting or their potential to be filmed in the Granite State. The screenplays are read in an intimate setting at Red River Theatres and can last anywhere between ninety minutes to two hours.

With three screenplay readings held throughout the course of a year, audiences have the rare opportunity to "listen" to a film script, take part in a dialogue with the writer afterward, and hear the artistic conversation that happens "behind-the-scenes."

Tickets are $8 ($6 members) and are available at the Red River Theatres box office or online. Seating is limited and reservations are strongly suggested. Information on the Screenplay Reading Series can also be found here.

We also encourage you to bring in a non-perishable food item for the New Hampshire Food Bank when you attend this event. The New Hampshire Film & Television Office and Red River Theatres support the Culture Cares program through the Department of Cultural Resources. Everyone has a story to tell. Whether it's an idea for a great script, your family history or you want to share your company or organization's vision, these are all stories and one of the most compelling ways to share them is visually, through film. Filmmaking is a powerful medium that can accomplish so much, from educating and informing to entertaining, in a short amount of time.

In this two-day intensive workshop you will be introduced to the entire movie making process, both narrative and documentary style. Local professionals specializing in different aspects of filmmaking will lead mini-workshops over the course of the weekend, ranging from screenwriting to lighting & camera work to editing. Working in production teams you will get a chance to make a short film scene as part of this whirlwind weekend. From concept to final cut, we will walk you through it all.

The goal of the weekend will be to prepare you to make your very own project, to tell your story, whether it be a short film, a documentary, a commercial or web-based project, all the while networking you with other aspiring, local filmmakers. Take a look at the topics we'll be covering. Space will be limited to only 8 participants!

Come follow us on Twitter @nefilmacademy and $100 off the cost of the workshop! Tell a friend and come join us as The New England Film Academy presents another Weekend Film School coming up on November 7th & 8th!

"I really loved the weekend workshop. Our whole crew learned a lot AND we had a great time. Thank you again. The documentary Mito-Kids: Documenting Life and the award winning short Tweet were directed by Marc Dole founder of Hatchling, which celebrated its tenth year in business in September.

“After ten years in business and offering many different services, we were very happy this year to be involved in so many great films that brought us back to our core skills as storytellers.” said Dole.

Mito-Kids: Documenting Life Produced by Marc & Wanda Dole and Karlina Lyons, Mito-Kids is about the struggles, triumphs and everyday life of a New Hampshire family in which four teenage sisters have grown up with disabilities that stem from mitochondrial disease, a chronic, genetic disorder that occurs when the mitochondria of the cell fail to function properly. The girls face challenges that include seizures, deafness, diabetes, immune disorders and severe learning and developmental disabilities. Yet despite these many challenges, Mito-Kids is an inspirational and relatable film about perseverance and family.

"I have always loved making and watching documentary films, I just never knew I was in the middle of my own documentary. But now that I am I hope we can bring awareness to the world about this disease." said director and father Marc Dole.

The Dole family has shot close to 100 hours of home video, beginning with the birth of their first daughter 20 years ago. The story starts before mitochondrial conditions were even a mention at medical conferences, let alone an area of genetic study. Mito-Kids follows the family through holidays and family vacations, seizures and hospital stays. Interviews with medical experts explain the role of mitochondria in producing cellular energy and reveal what happens to the human body when these cellular powerhouses fail. The incidence of mitochondrial disease is estimated at 1:3000-4000 individuals in the US and yet the disease is relatively unheard of in the public sector and poorly understood in the medical community. Mito-Kids aims to increase the understanding of mitochondrial disease and its connection to epilepsy, diabetes, ALS, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, Heart Disease and many other neurological disorders.

The premiere screening of Mito-Kids will take place October 15th at 4:45 PM at The Music Hall along with the short films Cinema 93, No Good Reason and Finding Someplace Like America. A second screening is scheduled for October 18th at 2:30 PM at the Moffett Ladd House along with Ear Whacks, Cinema 93, Happy Hunting and Finding Someplace Like America.

Tweet puts a social networking spin on the classic cop genre. Tweet won best director and best film at the 2009 NH 48 hour project. Starring fellow director, Chase Bailey (Crooked Lane) as officer J.P Jones, Tweet is a short comedy about a police officer who uses social media websites like Twitter, YourTube and Facebook to catch criminals. This 48 hour test of endurance and filmmaking skill included a 15 person team who worked non-stop one weekend to make the film. Producers Wanda Dole and Karlina Lyons were joined by other Hatchlings of past and present including writer J. Zachary Pike, and graphic designers Brian Meanley and Jeremy Clough.

Tweet, winner of Best Director at the NH 48 Hour Film Project, will premiere on Thursday, October 15. The festival is open to the general public.

Four other NH films
From Producing to Editing and Visual Effects the Hatchling team has also taken part in Crooked Lane, Killing Dinner, Ear Whacks, and Drawing from Life.

“Whether it's a television commercial, or a corporate video, our daily work at Hatchling is to be storytellers.” said Dole “Working on independent films is just an extension of what we do day to day. The great thing about working on indie films is that it allows us to flex our creative muscles, and try new techniques.”

On Tweet Dole encouraged director of photography Jonathan Millman to use his Nikon D-90 digital still camera to shoot the video. “Using a DSLR camera allowed us to use prime lenses like Hollywood features to create a rich cinematic depth of field.” said Dole. It also created many other challenges because the camera was not built for shooting a movie.

On Crooked Lane the Hatchling team created a digital workflow based on the ground breaking RED One camera. The RED is a full size, high end camera used by many cutting edge filmmakers like Peter Jackson (Lord of the Rings) and is quickly becoming the predominant digital camera for indie film makers. Hatchling was there on set with laptops in hand transferring the files off the camera and starting visual effects and editing hours as soon as the first scene was shot.

“The RED allowed us a completely digital workflow along with a four thousand pixel wide image so we had a lot of data to work with to create the 15 visual effects we did” said Brian Meanley who was the Visual Effects supervisor for the film.

Looking forward to 2010 and the production of the feature length documentary Mito-Kids Hatchling also has an animated short called Super Service directed by Brian Meanley in production along with supporting 4 other live action short films made by our friends in the New Hampshire Film Community.

About Hatchling

Hatchling is an award-winning interactive, animation, and content creation company located in the scenic heart of Portsmouth, NH. With clients like MTV, NBC and ESPN to brands like Reebok, Charmin, Timberland and PC Connection. LIVE FROM BETHLEHEM chronicles the struggles, failures and triumphs of the Ma'an News Network, the only major independent news source in the Palestinian Territories. Following the lives of the station's reporters, producers and photographers, this documentary provides an in-depth, balanced look into the challenges of making news in one of the world's most combative regions. A highly observational film, Live From Bethlehem focuses more on people than politics while still engaging with questions of gender equality and freedom of expression in the evolving Palestinian mediascape. The film was produced by JCS Productions, a cutting edge, young media production company focusing in documentaries and new media. In April, LIVE FROM BETHLEHEM was shown as an official selection at the Boston International Film Festival, the Athens (Ohio) International Film Festival, and Rhode Island's Roving Eye Documentary Film Festival and is an official selection at the upcoming Philadelphia Independent Film Festival.
