The spaces for 100 individuals wishing to perform onstage or work backstage and in administrative positions for more than a dozen of the state’s professional theatres have been filling up quickly.

New Hampshire students with dreams of a career onstage, backstage or behind the scenes will have the opportunity to strut their stuff for the state’s professional theatres at the 2009 New Hampshire Professional Theatre Association Auditions and Interviews, scheduled to take place February 21 at Plymouth State University’s Silver Center for the Arts.

High School Musical leaps from screen to the stage, November 20-23 in Meredith

Disney’s High School Musical Live Onstage comes to New Hampshire from November 20 to 23, a professional production of The Summer Theatre in Meredith Village.

Featuring an all-professional cast, the stage version of the smash hit musical is the tale of a jock named Troy and a science geek named Gabriella who break free from their cliques to star in their school’s big musical.

Christmas Dinner & Show at Church’s Landing

The Palace Theatre is now hiring Part-Time Box Office Personnel. The job will include handling ticket sales and providing customer service on the phone and in person. Must be available to work evenings and weekends. Excellent customer service skills and a pleasant phone manner required. Cashier experience, ability to work patiently under pressure, and good computer skills are a plus.

Inaugural New Hampshire Professional Theatre Auditions a great success; attract students from across the state

In April, members from eighteen of New Hampshire’s professional theatres gathered for the inaugural New Hampshire Professional Theatre Association Auditions at the Silver Center for the Arts at Plymouth State University. Nearly 100 aspiring performers as well technicians, administrative and marketing hopefuls participated, each trying to secure a position in one of the many professional theatres around the state that produce performances throughout the summer—and beyond.

New Hampshire Theatre Project Auditions

New Hampshire Theatre Project will hold auditions for Doubt: A Parable by John Patrick Shanley on Monday, July 28, 4-6 PM. The production will run November 14-30 at NHTP’s West End Studio Theatre, 959 Islington Street, Portsmouth NH. Director is Dev Luthra of And Still We Rise Productions and the Windsor School in Boston. Open roles are: Sister James (white female, 20’s) and Mrs. Muller (black female, 30-40’s); compensation is commensurate with experience. Open to Equity and non-Equity performers. Auditions will consist of cold readings, so actors should familiarize themselves with the play.

Palace Professional Theatre For Children Casting Call!

Auditions are being held for The Palace Theatre’s Summer Children’s Series on Saturday, June 28th from 11:00am – 3:00pm and Sunday, June 29th from 5:00pm – 9:00pm. Possible paid positions available.

Winnie the Pooh
Alice in Wonderland

Please prepare 16 bars of a song that best shows your voice and come prepared for a dance audition. Auditions are open to actors ages 15 and up. Performances are held every week on Tuesdays at 10:00am and 6:30pm and Wednesdays at 10:00am. A rehearsal schedule will be available at the audition.

Summer Stock Auditions!

Palace Community Summer Stock!
Spend your summer performing on the Palace Stage! The Palace Theatre is excited to announce a brand new community summer stock series! We will be doing three shows in rep for the months of July and August. All shows will be cast age appropriately and auditions are open to actors ages 13 and up. Auditions will be held on Saturday, June 28th from 11:00am – 3:00pm and Sunday, June 29th from 5:00pm – 9:00pm. Please prepare 16 bars of a song that best shows your voice and come ready for a dance audition. A rehearsal and show schedule will be available at the auditions. You can audition for as many of the shows as you would like. Rehearsals for the three shows will not conflict. Casts will be different for all three shows. Rehearsals will take place during the first 4 weeks in July. Shows Run July 24 – August 31st. There is no pay for these productions.
