Scrapping Fun

I have been doing some scrapping lately! It feels good to do some pages and get back in the groove! I am almost done with 2009 - and that feels good! I mostly scrap the older photos, throwing in a page or two of new ones when that's what strikes my fancy or works with a kit. I have about 10% of 2009 left, and a little over half of 2010. 2011 is trickier, since I'm doing 3 albums (one for each kid, one family) but I've got about 20 of those pages done too! I'm feeling like I might actually get caught up! In addition to scrapping, I've been working on a Smash Book for myself in 2012 as well as a Smash Book from our honeymoon back in 2008! Doing the honeymoon album this way is taking a lot of my plate digi-style. Although, I think I might do a basic photo book of the photos, just laid on on pages, no journaling, since I'm not getting them all in the Smash Book! We'll see....

Anyways, enough of my babbling about what I've gotten done. Would you like to see some of my layouts?

2012 is here!

Well, it's a new year and that means new things to come! Looking back at 2011, it was not the best year of my life by any stretch of the imagination, but one I will always remember. The best part of 2011 was meeting my son in June and becoming a family of four. The worst part was the challenges I faced during the last trimester of my pregnancy and the wrinkles they have left on various parts of my life. But, it's a new year and a fresh start!

I have set a couple of scrapping related goals for myself this year, have you?

1. Scrap at least 2 pages a month that are not for CT requirements.
2. Take at least 1 picture a week of each of my children.
3. Get at least 1 picture a month of me with each of my children AND 1 picture a month of daddy with each of the boys.

I also have a goal to blog here a little more frequently, about things other than my new releases! Is there anything you'd like to see me share?

Alright, well it's early here and both of the boys are now awake and hungry, so I'm off to take care of mom duties!

theStudio Christmas Carol Blog Hop

It's that time of year again! theStudio designers have come together once again for the Annual Christmas Carol Blog Hop! This is one of my favorite Blog Hops every year because everyone does their own thing! If you hit all of the stops you'll collect 21 mini kits! All holiday themed, all unique!

This year, instead of a traditional carol, I chose the song "I want a Hippopotamus for Christmas! I think this song is so fun, and it has become part of a fun family tradition. It must have been 4 or 5 years ago the first time I heard this song. My husband and I were just arriving at our destination when it came on. I was laughing so hard at a Christmas song about a hippopotamus...we sat in the car while the song finished. We must have heard it a few more times that year....the following Christmas we would turn on the holiday music in the car, and wait and wait for the day we'd hear this song play! Now it's become a fun game for our son as well. No matter where we are, how much of a hurry we're in or what else we have to do, we always stop to listen if the hippo song comes on! If you haven't heard it, you can click here for a You Tube video of it! (Careful, it's a catchy tune!)

As the holiday's approach, my bank account and credit cards quiver in fear! They get used and abused as I'm shopping for all of the people on my lists. This year, I am actually saving a ton of money, by having done a little work throughout the rest of the year. Here are some of my tips, and if you start now, you'll be feeling much better by next year too!

Disney Movie Rewards: Most Disney movies you purchase come with a little sheet inside that contains a code. Enter this code into your DMR account to earn points - then redeem your points for some great rewards! This year my older son will be getting a Little Einsteins DVD and the baby will get a Baby Einsteins DVD both cost me nothing since I was able to purchase them using my points. Additionally, a special offer is sent out around your birthday allowing you to get a free DVD or BluRay (from a selected list of options) for just the cost of shipping. If you sign up to get their newsletter, you'll be able to earn a bonus 5 points a month using the code sent out in the email. The final great feature about this program is all the deals you get for being a member. Coupons sent out for $5-$10 off the purchase of Disney movies (I got an $8 off Cars 2 coupon when it was release this month). If you're Disney fans, this is a great program!

Pampers and Huggies Gifts Programs: If you have a child in diapers, and are brand loyal to either of these companies, sign up for their rewards program. Every box or bag of diapers you buy has a code inside, which (much like the disney program) you enter on their web site and can redeem for great prizes. If you coupon at all, you can print your coupons through Swagbucks to earn additional points too!
